Pima Animal Care Center (Animal Shelter) reviews
26I have adopted 2 dogs from Prima. I live in Texas, when I am ready for a dog, while visiting my family, I have always found a dog there. They are big and have many to choose from. The new facilities are very clean and not so offensive.
Love it! Unfortunately my dog was sick and the rule is once you leave with the dog your responsibility even it sickness occurs that day or even the day after
So sad!
We visited for the first time to donate some surplus wound care supplies on a Saturday afternoon. First off we were surprised at how big the facility was and how many other visitors were there. Their very large parking lot was almost full. As we came walking in (what a beautiful, modern facility) there were several volunteers busily helping folks, including a women also walking in with an old spaniel in her arms that she was said she was planning to drop off. Sad! Would I "drop off" one of my children? Dogs are family too!
We were helped by a friendly volunteer who walked us to the right department which gladly accepted our gift. Then he chatted briefly with my wife and me afterwards as we were leaving. About 300 animals are accepted on a given Saturday and he said he was hoping to place 25 in a new home.
I didn't get to spend a lot of time there but my wife says they were nice, it was a good experience all around. And they saved our cat! He ran away about 5 1/2 weeks ago and since my wife's been checking the online inventory (in addition to walks, posters, good Samaritans). Someone amazing got him and brought him in the previous night, and PACC gave him a place to chill until we could get him. They vaccinated and chipped him (now he has two, the first was worthless) and gave us medicine, no charge. Thanks PACC!
This is the second dog I have adopted. Im vary happy with the dog I have chosen. She will make a great addition to my family. Up date Sadie is the love of are life we have be working with here and Pima Animal Care did it again. I have two fur babies I adore and give lots of love. Thank you to the great staff. What you do matters.
The place was very clean and very welcoming, everyone I encountered who works there was very friendly and sweet towards animals, the entire process was speedy and pleasant. The open, airy architecture I'm sure helped a lot! I will admit that I was kind of dreading it, but the whole experience was overwhelmingly positive.
