1 Love Dog Rescue, Auburn CA

This guy is very well known within the local rescue community to be quite unreputable. He finds free or very cheap puppies off the internet then turns around and sells them for a profit. He also takes in dogs people have recently found, then turns around and sells them. Animal control has many complaints filed with them about him selling sick puppies with potentially deadly diseases. Please do your research on this place before buying his dogs, there are so many trustworthy dog rescues around who are actually doing good things!

I paid for a puppy, that was full of fleas, nor was he neutered and did not act like a normal little puppy. I texted him, regarding the puppy. Justin Montgomery got very agitatedl, and emailed me using extremely foul language, and full of acquaintanc. Once I returned the puppy, I didn’t want another one from them as I had done research on this rescue, and learned many animals had been sick, unaltered, and people had experienced the slam of Justin Montgomery.
He has had multiple people complain to the Rocklin, and Placer County Animal Control regarding their sick animals.
This rescue has not filed a 990, in the last several years the 990 is the IRS form that alll non profits are required to file, and provide to the public when asked to see if, and questions about his Non Profit board meeting, Non could or were provided. Justin became very foul once agin. They have a board of directors for their non profit. His, wife, who has now left him, and 3 other Russian names. The lates 990 states that his wife only earned $12,000 plus or minus on their 2014 990 IRS filings, and that Jason earns nothing. Amazing since he doesn’t have a job.

My contract for the puppy I did return said he was a chocapoo, and was to weigh 25 lbs. When I returned the dog, less then a couple days later he had him up for sale, saying he was going to be around 65 lbs, still not neutered, I did contact my credit card company regarding this issue, and they called, and send paperwork to Mr. Montgomery to explain his side of the sale. They gave him 45 days to respond, and he never once contacted them.

His review of my post, lacking the true facts. I got involved because of my concern for the welfare of the dogs and puppies he sells. After researching 1 Love Dog Rescue, many many others have bought sick, unaltered, and experience the wrath of Mr. Montgomery when they tried to discuss issues. Please research this so business and be sure you know the overall health and welfare of a dog you may be about to get.

We got our rescue dog from here and it was an amazing experience. They were super helpful and seemed like they really cared about the dogs. We got to walk around with our potential adoptee for a while and let him calm down and get comfortable around us. They also let us know that he had a small ear infection and gave us medicine and our first vet visit free! In addition, our dog was already neutered and chipped and had all the paperwork. Three years later he’s still a happy pup and we’re so thankful for 1 Love for bringing him to us!

We just adopted our sweet baby from 1 Love. We had some special needs (needed a girl non shedding) and Justin worked hard to help us out. He's very busy so you need to patient. Put the dogs in front of your emotions and be patient. He will help you find a furever friend. Thank you Justin for all your hard work.

We had the best experience with our adoption at 1 Love Dog Rescue. It is apparent Justin cares deeply about each animal and goes above and beyond in caring for them and the people who adopt. We are so blessed with the new addition to our home. Thank you for all you do!

We adopted our maltipoo 2.5 years ago. This is our family’s first puppy. We worked with Tonia. She was very helpful with answering questions for a new pet owner. She took the time to discuss diet, sleeping habits, and toys. She could tell we were newbies and helped us feel comfortable.
