99 Cents Only Stores reviews
34 The products (and the stockers) are so hit and miss, but always a happy shopping experience because of one or more "finds" at a bargain price.
I LOVE this store - the (produce, pet supplies, etc) bargains are unbelievable and parking and hours make it so easy! I still love this store because they have (pre-covid) stocked products from Spain at low prices and now fresh-in-the-earth herbs
0rganic strawberries and eye drops for 99 cents!
Starbucks vanilla iced coffee QUART for $2!
Surprised to see a 99cents store only as clean and well displayed as that! Now they don't carry the canned coconut water but I got out with a premium honey and a magnificent pineapple!
Small detail to for: the parking is small, only for a dozen of cars, and has only one direction to enter.
They are a good bargain with many brand name items and lots of hidden gems. Would've given them 5 stars but their recent price gouging and limit's on goods makes me less a fan.
Good deals for 99 cents. Sometimes fruit is not good - stawberries, blue berries. But for 99 cents it is still a very fair deal for a lot of ppl.
I give this one a five star. I love how it's a little 99 cent store just ten blocks or so from school (SMC), all the employees have always been kind and I've never actually had any bad experiences here. The only real concern I have is assortment of parking spots. I think the exit and the entrance are put in a difficult manner for people to enter or exit. I would not have the separate entrance and exit, and instead have one wide entrance that people can enter on the right side into the lot and exit on the left side for leaving. Instead of where the mini gated barrier trash can is by the current entrance, I would make those parking spots up to the wall, and the whole front wall of 99¢ store from entering this ideal parking lot entrance straight in would make it easier to pull in and park. I understand it would cost a small $$ to remodel their mini lot, but if I could speak to the owner I would like to show a drawn "blueprint" of this idea and who knows, maybe it could work out.
It's a 99 cent store! Always great prices to be had. Antibiotic ointment is 99 cents rather than $5.99. The tube is a little bit smaller, but who needs a giant tube of antibiotic ointment? It's a classic 99 cent store deal.
I especially like the produce, though I am happiest when I don't have something specific that I absolutely need. The 99 cent stores carry things that are available at that price point at that time - that is why they are such a good value. A beautiful bunch of asparagus that can be had for $0.99 would be triple that at Ralph's. It's also a great place to buy dairy items.
Because this 99 cent store is small, it tends to be crowded. I am absolutely certain that it's clean, but it feels a little bit grungy. Maybe the floor is old? I don't know, it's just a feeling I get. It doesn't stop me from shopping here.
Like most 99 cent stores, there is usually a line at the checkout stand. I don't have any issue with this either. I'm sure you can find a place with a shorter line, but you are likely to spend a lot more money for the privilege.
I stop here for typical 99 cent store stuff when I cannot get to a larger store - or when I am using the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, which has a stop just across the street. Very convenient.
Pretty packed 99c store.
Was busy the morning I was there.
Was only 1 cashier, but then the security guard opened up a till.
Friendly staff.
They didn’t treat me good on the phone.
They left me on the phone for 15 mins and they Ignore me until I Hung up on them.
Old-ish store @ Pico28th. Floors are always dirty, inventory is very limited vs.other stores.
It's 100% worth the extra drive a couple of miles east on Pico, a block past Sepulveda. Clean (opened in 2014), 5x the size, with GREAT produce, wider and higher quality selection.
FYI - "99 Cents Only Store Fanatics" FB group members post local 99 cent store finds all over the US, if you're a true fan.
Good deals on a variety of low cost items when you can't wait for shipping. Inventory fluctuates, don't expect "that" item you came for to be there year round & you'll leave a happy shopper!
They aren't very helpful or friendly and dont open up lines fast enough when there are a large number of customers waiting.
Crowded, smallest 99c store I know, limited parking, While they are selling groceries some of the fruits and vegetables were visible off the expiration date, molded oranges and rotted cherries. No one removed the expired fruits from the store. The parking lot and the entrance were dirty. And bad maintained. Avoid.
Excellent one of a kind deal for very low cost. Mostvitems 99 some a bit more. I like the variety of items n there always seems to be something new to try or choice from. Only issue here is the parking uts very limited n can only come un from pico. Its an accident waitung to hapoen so many caes backed up on pico from customets trying to get in.
The convenience of their condom selection is absolutely trustworthy, remember to stock up before the apocalypse occurs.
Always have a good experience of late. Lines are not allowed to get too long. Selection always good and prices excellent! Staff friendly and efficient!
Bottom line.speaker playing same ass commercial about 99 ways n 99 days about 99 freaking cents they don't charge. 99 minutes of same lame commercial.tho I love the good deal on ice.big bag. 99cents. 99 thanks.
Small congested store at the location what used to be a laundromat years ago. Expect to rub into somebody. Parking lot is also small and you might find some idiot drove n from the wrong end and jammed the parking lot and the adjacent road traffic.
Like any 99 cents store you can find items but not all carried by other locations due to it's small size.
In general, conditions at 99, cents store has deteriorated since some private fund bought it a few years ago. Perhaps to pay their purchase debt they have screwed up every thing.
Number of employees seems to have decreases and product packaging had been altered to reduce the quantity. For example, where it used to be five oranges in a bag, now they have only three.
99 cents only store used to be a liquidation place for surplus inventory but Its not the same value anymore.
Prices used to he 99 cents, now they have added numbers $1,2,3 in front of. 99. So, now prices start at 99 cents and up. It is no more 99 cents only store. Begin to feel like a rip off, every 99 cents store
Small, fewer items then other stores, usually slow at the cash registers. For the rest it is a regular 98c store
Very nice cashier! Clean and the only bad part is parking. Just be careful where you park, a lot of door dings!
