Had a great experience at this shop. The technicians were very knowledgeable and the office people were friendly. They gave me options for a solution to my car troubles and the price was fair as I compared them to others in the area. I will always be back for service here and will refer everyone here that asks for a good repair shop.

I rarely write reviews and I had to make an exception for the fine people - Burt and Lisa at the AAMCO on Coloma Road in Rancho Cordova. Please note all AAMCO'S are independently owned and operated and the owners are the ones that make it what it is. This one is amazing. I was traveling across California in a 10 year old RV that I had purchased. Running great but in the hills a day ago I heard a loud noise when I would be going up hills I would hear something like a fan running and I was afraid it was my transmission. After reading reviews online that were good, but with some hesitation because of my experience with other national franchise chains pushing up-sells to more expensive products (some Midas etc) I called and made an appointment with Burt. He was friendly and wanted details to begin to understand the problem. I arrived the next morning at my early appointment and met Lisa and she was completely on point and experienced. Friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. I asked also to check my shocks and check my fan-belt for cracks. I was prepared to completely replace the transmission. I was in the office and some guy who I thought was a customer walks in sits down in the waiting room chatting says hi and hears me talking and says it just sounds like the thermal fan kicking in. It was Burt the owner. He was Friendly, relaxed and thinking of his customer. I was told it would take about 3 hours to check all items and Lisa gave me directions to a nice walking path to the river and shops where my wife and I could relax and wait. I get a call in 1-1/2 hours that nothing is wrong with my transmission, it is just the thermal fan kicking and my shocks are fine and they just recommend changing my fan belt because its showing signs of being cracked. I was very happy of course, but very impressed that they did not try to up-sell anything and had my functioning vehicle in mind and my wallet. The entire experience was just great. They have a five bay shop and a fully loaded for a reason. I want to thank both Burt and Lisa for making my visit a great experience and really knowing their business and caring about the customers. I would drive 2 hours to go to this shop if I lived in California to service my vehicle. With any vehicle there can be problems that you can't predict and repairs could be more, but I am confident Burt and Lisa would have my best interest in mind. Thank you.

AC went out on Tahoe and I researched all Aamco's in area. I actually drove from downtown to Sunrise and HWy 50, because of their great reviews. It was worth the drive. Family owned I believe and provided great service at a very fair price. Nice guys and seems like they really cared. They even asked me to come back in a week, so they can check the work and make sure there are no leaks. I would highly recommend driving to them over going to a closer location or competitor. Thanks

If I could give this place zero stars I would!

I brought my vehicle in for an issue with a transfer case that was identified previously by a Mazda dealership. I advised the owner Joe exactly what Mazda had written up regarding the issue they found and why they were recommending a new transmission. Joe said that dealerships often misdiagnosed the issue and that he would run a full diagnostic to identify the issue. I told Joe to look at the splines as the dealership advised the splines were damaged. After Joe's technication did the initial inspection Joe called to advise me that transmission was perfectly fine and only the transfer case needed to be replaced. I asked Joe was he sure the splines weren't damaged as the dealership stated and he said no! I then gave him permission to proceed with the repairs. After taking off the old transfer case Joe then called me to tell me he could now see what the dealership was talking about and the splines were striped and needed to be rebuild or a new transmission would be needed. He stated he can rebuild the transmission which would be cheaper than buying and new transmission but just needed to confirm that he could get the parts. I opted to try to buy the parts myself because Joe told me if he buys the parts he will upcharge it 100% for profit. So if he buys the part for $600 they will resell the part to you for $1200 which is the highest up charge I've ever heard of. After determining he couldn't get the parts and the replacement transmission was on back order until the end of march we confirmed that he couldn't repair my vehicle. When it was time to pick my vehicle up he stated they would be charging me for labor on removing the old transfer case and discovering the splines were bad. I advised Joe that he didn't discover that but yet I told him that when I came in and showed him the write up directly from the dealership. I asked why would he charge me for something that I just had done at the dealership for free. I knew the. Problem coming in I just wanted a second option which he originally said he can give free of charge. But once he realized he couldn't do any repairs for me he wanted to still make money off me so decided he will charge me to remove a part to discover a problem I already informed him of. Joe insisted that I never mentioned the splines being damaged but yet he was the one who informed me of the damage. I reminded Joe that I came into his repair shop with the service write up from the dealership identifying the problem and asking him for a second opinion. Joe should've communicated that information to me when I brought my vehicle in for repair that he would still charge labor if he couldn't fix the vehicle instead of saying that it would be free of charge. In the repair shop there is a sign that says that recording is in progress voice and video, I asked Joe if he could play the recording as I was that sure I told him what the dealership said. Conveniently enough he told me the cameras weren't working and he didn't take the signs down. How ironic right? When I picked my vehicle I let the owners know that they would be hearing from my attorney regarding this matter! This repair shop is dishonest and tries to get over on any person that is unaware of their rights as a consumer.

Please beware and do not go to this repair shop! If you are looking for an honest repair shop in this area go to Marc at A auto care in rancho Cordova!
