Absinthe Brasserie & Bar reviews
33A wonderful place to celebrate a birthday. Wonderful food and service. The BEST filet mignon I have had in years!
High end cocktails that did not disappoint. The food is paired well with the drink menu. Whenever I'm in the neighborhood I'll stop for a drink or two and a snack.
Absinthe is a San Francisco benchmark restaurant. If you live in SF, and have not eaten here, you're due. The food is the star, but the restaurant location and ambiance enhance the experience. A slice of Paris in the modern bohemian Hayes valley neighborhood. This is a place to splurge, and they deliver. But each dish is so delicious, no matter what you order you'll enjoy it.
Very delicious. Lovely service. Great cocktailes and good food despite the wind blast. Will visit again.
This might be the best french restaurant in San Francisco.
I certainly haven't been to all of them, but I can't think of one I enjoy more. Or one with such a wonderful portfolio, that no matter which menu is just excellent.
The service is also wonderful somehow casual but just excellent! The perfect balance of attention and absence to allow for your own time to enjoy your meal.
One of my favorites in San Francisco.
Had a very good dinner, Steak Frites. The mixed drinks were very good, the table had three different types and everyone enjoyed them.
So in order to get to this place, you enter thru a hotel, and i believe you take two elevators up. There is a concierge there to help direct you which is super useful! I'm sure it's to keep the residents/ public separated and from wondering off.
Go for the potato pancakes and the Absinthe Brasserie & Bar. Yes, right now. You won't be disappointed.
As many other reviewers have mentioned, this place gets very crowded and very loud. There is a much more relaxed environment if you go in the early evening, and the wait time isn't very long, if you have to wait at all. Regardless, I'd wait a long time (and have) for the delicious food they serve here. I'll definitely be returning.
I simply loved their dishes. I always get good customer service here. The place is always clean and the cashiers are always welcoming. Will visit here again.
I admire this restaurant a lot.theres a different spirit. The meals are good.the service is dynamic and the team is trained. The pay is honest.truly recommend.
Came here for dinner as my last night in San Francisco on a trip, the cocktail menu was very interesting something for everyone, we ordered a few different drink, and then a few different glasses of wine to go with dinner. I really appreciate that the chef took time to adjust our plates for food allergies in our party.
Always amazing food and cocktails. The duck, scallops, and french onion soup are amazing. The wait staff is on par too. Popular place to visit before a show, so get a reservation
This place has class and style. Like returning to a past time in it's simple and casual vibe. My girlfriend and I had martinis and shared small bites before dinner elsewhere. This is the place for smooth strong drinks. Delightful. We enjoyed attentive and personal service which included reccomendations for dinner and taking our photo. Sweet stylish place located on Hayes in the shopping district.
Must try. Excellent service- amazing quality food and cocktails. Everything we ordered was delicious. Nothing went back. Nothing came home. Everything they brought us was perfect temperature, textures, and presentation was excellent. Highly enjoyable. Highly recommended. Thumbs up. A little expensive- but very impressive.
This place is pretty fun! They have a stellar drink menu and fun bar. The restaurant wasn't my favorite though. I had the cod which was good but a little underwhelming. Still, well prepared and I'd order it again.
The appetizers and small plates were incredible. The duck pate was to die for and the the French onion soup was maybe the first time I've ever truly loved it.
I might not come here to eat dinner again but I'll definitely be there for the bar.
The place is ideally located and the French ambiance is pleasant. They should renew their menu more often.
Water guy never let my glass get empty, he and our server were very nice. A tad expensive, but it's SF. First place I've eaten in a long time where a medium burger is cooked medium and not well
I've been going here for special occasions for 10+ years and every time the food (every dish and drink), ambiance, and service is consistently impeccable. Worth every penny.
Place was uninspiring, with no brunch vibe on a Sunday, while surrounding places were buzzing. Men's room toilet was broken and full of fresh feces. Great way to end the meal.
Mediocre food. Cocktails were OK, but honestly nothing to write home about. Will not be returning.
