Huge collection of older and new vinyls. Had trouble finding the records I wanted. Has a very 80s centric aesthetic. Can spend an entire afternoon here tho!

One of the largest record stores I've ever been to in the US. Has a tremendous collection of both vinyl and CDs and it is meticulously organized by genre (rock, world music, jazz, country, classical, etc.). Prices are alright compared to any other store. Definitely returning whenever I come back to SFO.

This place was so cool. And it’s HUGE. We spent nearly two hours browsing the vinyl, t-shirts, posters, and memorabilia. They have some amazing old concert flyers and postcards (mini posters) that we purchased. Definitely worth the trip.

These people have a wide range of wines to choose from, and I must say that everything I heard about them was completely accurate. Keep up the good work!

As a music lover, this place is Heaven. Just like the record stores of the old days, only better and bigger.

Amoeba has such a deep selection of options for all music lovers…from indie, punk, jazz, classical, metal, classic rock, and more. And they have all music in all formats…vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and DVDs. Also, plenty of other music related items for sale, including retro posters, art, clothing and books.

The workers are very knowledgeable and helpful. They also have an info center where they can look up items on their computer to see if they have it in stock.

My teenage kids and I felt like kids in a candy shop. We spent over an hour in there looking around, and easily could have spent all day checking out their deep inventory of great music and deep cuts.

Most vinyl cost about $20, while CDs were reasonably priced, particularly the used music. This is pretty standard pricing these days. What’s not standard is the depth of their available music, particularly underground artists.

If you are a music lover, you have to check this place out!

My top favorite record store as it holds the biggest selection of records I have ever seen alongside extremely helpful staff.

You can always ask the booth at the center to lookup certain records to save you time.

Prices are very competitive alongside having very rare collectibles.

Absolutely worth the stop if you ever pass by.

Such a wide variety of formats and genres. You could spend a day or two in Amoeba and still not taken in all there is to see.

My favorite place to get lost digging for records for hours at a time. I pretty much always find new artists that I end up loving.

My favorite vinyl shop. 95% of the staff are cool and helpful (the other 5% are pretentious or act like the Haight is a sketchy hood, lol). The overall atmosphere is cool. The selection rivals Rasputin at their prime.

Everytime I get here I spend at least an hour at the books section and leave with 1-5 books, and then spend another hour looking for records this is one of the best spots in San Francisco ️

If you like vinyl you have already been to Amoeba in SF.used and new, it's a vinyl Wonderland. I am pretty impressed with the wheelchair accessibility and the helpful staff.if you need close parking I would get there early.like right when they open.a place in San Francisco that still has some soul.

Amoeba, amoeba, amoeba! The place where you can travel through time, places and spaces. Huge selection of great records. Amazing store. One of the world famous SF's landmarks! It should be on the Unesco's list. Every records store should, no?
Staff still need to help and smile a little bit more.

If you like vinyl, cds, dvds, obscure and popular rock tee shirts, or vintage concert posters this is Mecca.

THE place to visit for the San Francisco media experience, records, tapes, video discs, DVD's, vhs, vintage posters, books, and merch. Yeah, the internet can be a good place to find that obscure piece you're looking for, but at Amoeba you'll find items you forgot about or never knew existed. Located in an old bowling alley, you won't regret your visit.

"I love music! "

"I don't know how I'd live without music! "

"Music is my life! "

I've heard people exclaim such statements.and when I do, I ask, "When was the last time you've paid a musician? "

Record stores are the last few places where a musician could get compensated for the products that we cannot live without and for that reason alone. 5 stars is due.
