Avalon at Mission Bay reviews
40This is a great place to live! It's in a very central location and has tons of great amenities. The staff here are also very friendly and helpful.
I just moved into this building. The staff and team was incredibly helpful in the move-in, and went beyond the call of duty. It's a wonderful community.
The leasing agents Nikki & Nita both where a great help in our move in. Nita was especially a help as she covered for Nikki. Wonderful women with tasteful style.
I've been living at Avalon Mission Bay for about 2 years, and it's been fantastic. The building is fairly new, management is extremely responsive, concierge service is very nice, and there are many different apartments to choose from depending on your needs. I've looked at all of the other buildings in the area, and although there's no swimming pool or hot tub at Avalon (how often would you use that anyway?), what Avalon does offer is done very well.
Long time reader, first time reviewer.
Have lived in Avalon apartments on and off for about three years. The staff over the last several months has gone from attentive, friendly, and helpful to MIA and unresponsive. Additionally, tenants seem to consider public/shared spaces as their own personal living rooms, frequently trashing common areas, playing beer pong for hours, and listening to loud music. Despite multiple tenants reporting dissatisfaction with this behavior on a regular basis, management is unresponsive, having done nothing to address the issue, and they are conveniently away from the building when it's happening. This place used to be a nice, upscale apartment complex. It's degenerated into a frat house. If you want to listen to kids partying all the time, this place is for you.
I've been living at Avalon for almost a year, and it's been a comfortable space in a nice neighborhood. The leasing team is always available and there to answer questions. When it came time for me to renew my lease, David and Nicky helped me work through the details and were very helpful.
I haven't lived in Avalon at Mission Bay (hopefully soon), but the staff is welcoming. We leave in another Avalon community and have head great experience, now trying to move here and the customer treatment doesn't disappoint here either. It must be that all Avalons are great. And Jason here is amazing, he doesn't answer your questions to get rid of you, he tries to think of things that you may have missed to ask, or may be important to you, he was so helpful! Will rate again once/if we move in.
The whole process of moving in was so easy and simple thanks to Juanita! She was so helpful, even after moving in she always stops to say hello and asks how everything is going! If you are thinking of touring the apartments I definitely recommend making an appointment with her!
Repair was a success after the second attempt! Bathroom however was a mess. Water all over floor as well as dirt and grime. Such a disappointment. All that said, Avalon followed up and made the best of a bad situation. Thank you.
Nita was excellent to work with, very knowledgeable and patient, and I'm very happy with the apartment and the community.
Avalon at Mission Bay is located in an ideal part of SF. It is walk-able to department stores, restaurants, bars, and the baseball park. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Nic, the leasing agent, was very knowledgeable, accommodating, and made the whole move-in process painless. Internet/TV installation via AT&T was painless and the people I worked with (Joseph, Kenny, and Vincent) were all professional and great! Joseph was accommodating with my move-in availability time.
Phase 1 is great. Well maintained. Large floor plans but a bit pricy. Near Caltrain and bus routes so traveling to South Bay is great. Close to tech company bus shuttle stops.
Was happy to finally have the sink fixed.and they also took care of a second request I just put in, so good day!
The leasing office is fantastic, in particular Nikki and Christine! I was in a bind, and the two of them spent over an hour with me reviewing every possible option. Because of their hard work and dedication to customer service, I got to stay another year at the Avalon in my beautiful apartment.
I moved across the country and had to start on my own. Robert Gatdula has been just amazing in helping me transition to my new apartment. I love Avalon and the community. And all the stress was eased by having such a great property liaison in Robert.really made all the difference!
Nicky was a great help in us deciding to move here. She guided us to find the right apartment with a perfect view. She's very quick yo return calls and has always had the answer to any question we asked. It's good to know she lives here also we enjoy seeing her around.
Thank you

The caltrain noise can be quite disruptive. However as long as you live in a unit that is not directly facing the train tracks, you should be OK.
We moved into Avalon phase 3 last November. The maintenance staff (Jesse and Edgar) and front desk (Faye) are some of the friendliest and hard working people I have met. Once we moved in we noticed the floor and grout needed to be replaced. Jesse worked quickly to resolve these issues quickly. Edgar has worked on a couple of items in our apartment and his work is always meticulous. Faye always greets us with a smile.
All things considered, it's a decent apartment for San Francisco. The public and shared areas are generally clean. When something breaks, it's usually repaired within a few days.
Our biggest complaint are the carpet and the pest problem. Our carpet had been deep cleaned when we moved in, but it's old and needs replacing. In addition, mice have plagued our apartment for the last 6 months. The office has provided little sympathy, and done virtually nothing to resolve the problem.
Been here for over 5 months and this place is great! Brian, our main guy in the office, has gone above and beyond getting my fiance and I into a fantastic apartment! The location and amenities are amazing. We do recommend without hesitation. Will likely be renewing for another year or five.
