Avalon Towers on the Peninsula, Mountain View CA

Living here is a disaster! As you can see from other reviewers, they did renovation in mid 2016 without notify us. After suffering several month of chaos, they increase our rent by 25%! You would think life will be easier after that?
BIG NO! The newly renovated hard wood flooring is already peeling. The trash overflows with strong gross smell and there are cockroach!
Safety is another big concern, I heard my neighbor's car got frequent break in.

The best managed rental property I have ever lived in. The staff led by Suzanne - the front doorman and manager Trever and the building management staff including Jesus are awesome. Loads of smiles + loads of help whenever we have asked for it and just an overall sense of support that you won't find in most places.
The pool and the outside area is 5 star and the support for dogs here is incredible as well.
Highly recommended.

I was on the verge of cancelling my lease (under the 30-day trial clause) as I was fed up with several aspects of the apartment and services (such as Package Concierge). My unit did NOT come with the NEST System, although a guy who toured me through a similar unit assured me that "everything I saw in the unit" I was viewing would be in my top-floor unit which was not yet vacated. Needless to say, I was irritated when it was not and my unit was an absolute mess. With a business to run and juggling my Masters degree courses, I didn't have time to mess around with things that should have been the responsibility of the management. The guy who showed me the place left unexpectedly - and my emails for the first two weeks went unaddressed and apparently unforwarded. Luckily, Suzanne (who is now running a one-person operation), was able to come to the rescue. She sent Humberto and Oscar to my place and they the most urgent corrections needed. The maintenance staff here is GREAT! Lucia always greets me with a smile and the rest of the guys are super helpful and kind, too. The staff here - overall - are really friendly. I've lived here for less than a month, and so far, the staff has made my stay a pleasure.

***Main complaint at this point: The doors leading to the parking garage. They constantly smack you as you're walking in/out. They are difficult to open and keep open. The building needs to have doors that function like the other doors in the community (push button and handicap accessible) - otherwise bringing groceries from your car to your apartment is nearly impossible, getting to your car with things in your arms is a challenge, and if you have any physical issues, it may be impossible altogether. ****

Excellent Maintenance & staff. Maintenance (led by Beto & Oscar) has no parallel. I thank them. Office staff has improved very much lately. I congratulate for their assistance whenever needed. Keep it up.

I can't say enough about the staff at Avalon Towers on the Peninsula! Suzanne, Humberto, Trevor, Oscar and Andrew have been extremely helpful and very professional. From the time we moved in to the present (we've lived here for about a year) they have gone out of their way to help us get settled and fix any issues we've had in a timely manner. Now that the place is completely renovated, we couldn't be happier with living here. Big thanks to all the staff for making us feel so welcome!

Company rented a 2 room apartment, very nicely designed and built.

Location is good as Grocery stores and restaurants are within walking distance if you do not drive. Just walk along the main road and you'll see Safeway.

Suzanne, Andrew, Oscar, Humberto, and Trevor do a great job at Avalon Towers on the Peninsula. They are super friendly, helpful and their response to issues and concerns are prompt and done well. Avalon Tower is clean, well-kept and runs like clockwork even during renovations. After the most recent renovations the place looks even more amazing. Good job!

Have lived here since Jan 2017. The people at the concierge desk and leasing office, especially Andrew H, have been beyond nice and accommodating of any requests. They have gone above and beyond in their efforts, towards helping with anything I have requested so far.
It is a pretty nice building to live in, really helpful staff and all the neighbors I have met so far have been quite nice.

The apartments are very small and very pricey. My rent has been increased substantially every year. The refrigerators needs replacing-The corp.office is difficult to deal with and often unreasonable. Local staff is very efficient, cooperative, and accommodating which does make up a great deal for the unreasonable corporate business practices. The fact that there is an elevator is the main issue that keeps me on the property.

Just moved in, Andrew the community coordinator is da bomb! Super helpful, beautiful place, much more sturdy than most California apartments (I moved from NY where newer buildings are rock solid because of the weather). I don't even have a car, and this place is literally a block or two away from Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Wal-Mart etc. Really sealed the deal for me!

The sewer in our bathroom got blocked yesterday. My wife called for service in the morning and the problem got solved very soon. Very nice!

Moved in here with my husband November 2016, no complaints at all. Absolutely love living here. Maintenance responds same day usually or first thing next morning. Staff is sweet and friendly.
