Bird Rock Coffee Roasters reviews
22Perfect place to grab a cup of coffee, their coffee is well made and delicious as they offer different roasts. It's located in a really chill area in bird rock which is good for walking around after getting your cup of coffee.
I'm a personal trainer and come here everyday on breaks between clients. One of the best coffee shops I've ever been to. Great coffee, friendly staff, and best music selections of any cafe/restaurant. I typically get the batch brew coffee which has $1 refills.
Local coffee shop favorite. Coffee is exquisite, although arguably higher prices to match the quality. Great place to meet up and hang out. Can be hard to get a seat to work from unless you come early/late. Also easy street parking that’s not timed.
On holidays from Australia this was the best coffee I found in the US. Equal to or better than the best Melbourne has to offer. The La Jolla coffee bar is a great spot to sit and enjoy their wonderful coffee. Great work Bird Rock and thanks for an excellent coffee.
Great place to have a morning coffee and a baked good. Coffee is great, goes down smooth, better than Starbucks. Nice outdoor patio.
Bird Rock coffee roasters are one of the most recommended coffee shops in San Diego on subreddit r/Coffee.
This place here in La Jolla has a unique open design, which gives a friendly and welcoming vibe. Besides the usual espresso drinks, there is a little Pour Over Bar to the left side of the counter. I ordered the single-cup Colombia Pink Bourbon, a washed processed light roast coffee from Tolima Colombia. You can choose to have the pour-over brewed on a Chemex or a Kalita wave; I picked the Kalita wave to have a more balanced and fruity cup. Note that they do seem to use a metal filter on the Chemex.
Like many Colombian origin coffees, it has a medium to light body with a certain "airiness" to it. The cup has a mild acidity, notes of white grapes and citrus fruits, and a pleasant aftertaste.
Though a little on the pricey end, I would say it's worth the hype.
I got my latte and there was a big butt drawn in the foam. I think they did this on purpose because I have a big butt.
Awesome coffee and fantastic service. For all the Aussies and Kiwis looking for a flat white, not only do they have one on the menu but it's actually really good. Cheers guys!
The view is splendid as the lopped off palm trees appeal to one's aesthetic sensibilities, but the coffee was tame in comparison to what is in fact a very beautiful view. Having a Nescafe (through the Indian Cappuccino method) on the beach itself is not only a cheaper option for a great experience, but simply a preferable alternative.
Great coffee, chocolate croissant is really good. Nice staff. Definitely one of my favorite places around
I think this might be my favorite coffee place! It’s my go to anytime I’m in San Diego. The cinnamon honey coffee is the best
Since new ownership has taken over, it appears prices have significantly increased. Great quality product, but, it's difficult to justify the increased prices.
Used to be very good but has deteriorated. I drive 35 miles to get my decaf coffee by the pound and usually get 2 to 4 lbs. Last time I went they were out of decaf. I told them I had driven a long ways and asked if they had a phone so I could call ahead. They said no but not to worry they could always make up some if they were out and made me up 3 lbs.
Today I went and they were out of decaf and could not make any up. So I drove 70 miles for nothing.
Friendly people, great place! My go to here is the cinnamon honey signature - hot or cold.
The coffee is a bit stronger here - perfect for me.
Very close to the beach. Seating outside is a bit to close to traffic. Good place to grab coffee on your bicycle ride.
They close early (6pm) but I guess that makes sense, you mostly need coffee at the beginning & during the day.
I put significant effort into finding the best coffee where ever I travel. Bird Rock roasters are amongst the best in San Diego and on par with the best in Australia. Their suyusama project sees them travel to Colombia to train and empower local growers. There is a real connection between the product and the people and it shows through in coffee.
We stopped by for a few minutes last Sunday morning and saw this dude playing harp and swinging a guitar. They have decent coffee here but not much in food.
Elite coffee without the elitist mentality. It's always a positive experience at Bird Rock Coffee Roasters. The interior is opened up to the outside by two wall-to-door windows so the coastal air can come through. Parking is usually not bad, but finding a seat might be.
Pretty good coffee! Only gripe I have is that they give you so little! Although the prices are reasonable for what you get. They were people coming in nonstop but we didn't have to wait long for our drinks.
