Bru's Wiffle, Santa Monica CA

Nice to see this place open again. We sat outdoors. The popcorn chicken was a great appetizer to complement the pecan banana waffles. Friendly staff, but it took a little longer to get the bill than expected at the end.

I guess I forgot to write a review for this place when I first tried it a couple years ago. Parents were craving some chicken and waffles so We decided to get lunch to go from Bru's. I placed my order via yelp/their online site. I biked over to their back alley to their outdoor seating area/ parking lot, and the waitress tells me I gotta go to the front to pickup to go orders. So I made my way to the front where the same waitress met me and handed me my food. Ok thanks! Took me less than 5 mins to get home and quickly opened up the take out boxes. We shared:

Festive chicken: 4/5 I liked the mango salsa, and the fried chicken, but unfortunately the waffles were soggy. The waffles themselves are sweet, so you can skip the syrup if you want.

Dwights special: 3/5 the fried chicken was lacking in flavor and on the dry side. Soggy waffles again.

Nashville crispy hot chicken sandwich: 5/5 really yummy crispy chicken sandwich with a little kick. Highly recommend this sandwich. Skinny fries were good.

If you want to get waffles, it's best to eat them on the spot so they won't get soggy. Otherwise get the Nashville!

I would have to give this a place one service was not good and my food was cold when i told the serve she had a attitude

Amazing food. Pistachio crusted French toast with coconut syrup, crispy chicken egg benedicts, you just can't go wrong. Unique pairings and just oh so delicious. Fresh squeezed lemonade (a little tart) to wash it all down with.

Had the best breakfast at Bru's Wiffle.great menu and great food. I highly recommend this place!

Loved it. Pat welcomed us when we arrived and the food was terrific. A pleasant oddity.for being near the cable car no tourists!

Awesome place for breakfast if u like waffles this is a must stop. I particularly love the churro waffles but all there foods r very fresh n tasty. The service is great even though specially weekends its a very very busy place. Expect a wait not long on weekends.

Super surprised with their menu. Every plate was very tasty and delicious. I am hoping that they open one in Orange County. Soul food with a kick!

This is a huge favorite for me. I've been many times trying much of the breakfast menu and love it every time!

Delicious gluten free and regular waffles with lots of choices of toppings. Mostly sugar and fruits, plus standards like fried chicken and waffles. Crowded but not too noisy. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Brunches are pretty crowded. Service is nice and attentive despite the crowds.

Oh my goodness. I flew from Washington state for a visa, and locals told me about this gem.

BEST Chicken and Waffles EVER. Get the spicy one with Oaxacan cheese. It is just pure deliciousness-everything good about LA in one dish. Chef Alvarro is amazing at what he does.

My server's name was Maggie and she was a delight. Honestly, everyone working there was so incredibly friendly and warm!

Drove for an hour to get gluten free chicken and waffles. Turns out they aren't actually gluten free just contain less gluten. Huge disappointment. Wish they mentioned that online

There is a wait time, but its well worth it. The chicken and waffles are delicious. I ordered the Green Salsa Chicken and Waffles and then shared a Belgium Chocolate Waffle and both were delicious. The portions are big so sharing was a great idea. Everyone was very attentive and great service.

I ordered the mango salsa, and it was really good. The portions are huge, the chicken is crunchy, and the waffles taste good. Their service is really good and coffee is too.

Tasty! We had a bit of a wait - as expected since it was Sunday morning and we were a group of 6. The “King” waffle was terrific. Coffee refills were free! Super casual atmosphere. Only con was the music was too loud to have a conversation.

Great food! A bit too crazy most days - be ready to wait for a table and wait extra long for food

I ate everything on my plate, which never happens.ever. I definitely will return next time I am in Santa Monica.
