California State Capitol Museum reviews
27Just stunning architecture indeed. So much history here in the state Capitol. We went on Christmas Eve and took pics in front of the tree.
If you've never been, I'd definitely recommend to go! I am a California native and have never had the opportunity to go visit. The location is beautiful and we'll kept. A lot of great facts to learn and perfect for a field trip.
Can you really say you’ve visited Sacramento without visiting the California State Capitol Museum? This is one of the main tourist attractions in Sacramento.
There’s not much to look at inside, but this is a very good place to take photos (outside).
The grounds are spacious, there’s a lot of greenery and it’s clean. I think this is why a lot of people take their wedding photos here. I recommend taking photos here
This is a beautiful building. I enjoyed my tour of the building and learned about the California legislature.
If you come and visit the capital of California, don't pass the opportunity to visit the Capitol building, learn about your and their past.
When visiting Sacramento this is a must!
This is the People's House. Go see where laws are issues are address and laws are created.
I was an Attendee California State Baptist Youth Conference in Sacramento and our President and Pastor Welton Pleasant was a Guest Speaker at the 20th Anniversary of California State Capitol Kwanzaa Ujamaa Celebration held in the Historic JOHN BURTON ROOM. What a Beautiful setting for the Celebration.
Go experience a self tour of Our Capitol!
The tour guide was extremely funny and gave a GREAT tour. He was happy to answer questions at any time and the tour is free! The rest of staff was really nice too, it definitely a great experience!
This was a nice experience that I was not expecting. There's history, current information, and much to learn. Didn't care for the pot smoking visitors in the garden. Smells nasty.
We love our state parks and yesterday's visit was everything we expect and appreciate about our parks, beautiful places with great service and knowledge friendly docents and guides. Special thanks to Megan and Mr. Dotters.
Fantastic museum. Go to the basement to register in the tours that start every 30 mins on holidays. Tour guides are very knowledgeable. Great way to learn how the government functions! Excellent education for kids and adults!
Very beautiful park around the State Capital and a great place to go if you are an avid Pokémon Go-er. There are a lot of Poké Stops and a good spawn point during events.
Ancient beautiful building, there are display windows for each county in CA. You can learn a lot about these different counties. Also, there's a carol singing during Christmas time. Very warm and welcoming!
It is best capitol. There is free parking also. If you wan’t to go inside you have to go on working hours only
You will appreciate the history of California. And it is well built structure and architecture is beautiful.
We enjoyed a fine tour of the best highlights and places of interest within the Capitol building. Our guide was knowledgeable, witty, and personable. I liked best the views of the dome and the restored original offices of the governor and secretary of state. Historic murals decorate the lower level. Paintings of past governors are on display on second level.
Awesome place to see, but extremely hard to navigate successfully without a tour guide. Takes too long to stop and read each thing and learning about it, but the Sights are fantastic. Definitely a multiple visit type of place.
Just was there for a day trip.worth a travel if you are in town. You got to watch the Ardnold portrait.
Beautiful piece of history, gorgeous architecture, amazing inside and outside.
As for me a bit boring, but still interesting to see all these old cabinets, beautiful decorations, to know more about California history.
This is a great museum and we loved spending couple of hours over here. You get to know about all the counties in California (honestly I never there are so many until I saw them here). Also the automobile section was pretty good. And above all, it was less crowded for a weekend and so pleasant.
