My mother had knee surgery on 3-16-21. On behalf of my mother she told me that the Dr and staff were very nice and polite. For my mother to mention that is nice to hear. Thank you Clovis Community Hospital for taking care of my mother. You guys are the best. Keep up the excellent work you do. As of 3-17-21 mom is doing great. Take care. Jess

They neglected my relative then he died. They won’t sponsor and autopsy on him! He died just hours of getting there!
If you have loved ones that NEVER bring them here they don’t care!

I delivered my baby there and the whole staff was fantastic. They were very friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and the food was decent (much better than expected for it being hospital food).

This hospital is one that I've trusted for years. I had my kids at this hospital and three surgeries with good experiences. I've never had to go through the emergency department until Monday night my 1st and hopefully my last. It was the WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had at this hospital. I was in excruciating abdominal pain, so painful I was nauseous and felt like vomiting. I broke out a sweat and each time the pain came around I was shaking. I told the staff my symptoms but they told my husband we have to wait like everyone else. They finally called us to the back several hours later and I thought that I would at least be given a bed but instead they took us to another waiting room that only had a few seats in there. Some patients were standing. A guy with crutches had to stand in the hall. My husband had to stand for several hours. They finally gave me pain meds after four hours of pain. Had my CT and urine sample done just to be told that they are waiting for a doctor to read my results. This was 3am Tues! Kids need to be dropped off at school so husband left to get the kids ready for school. So around 5am, they told me that the doctor wants an abdominal US. Finally I was told that I had a ruptured cyst, that was the cause of my pain! I finally came home at 6: 45am.
I kept thinking, what if I had an infected ruptured cyst? They probably still tell me to wait.
I am so disappointed in the way this hospital handles their patients in the emergency room. I would think that they would have a way to screen out which patients need immediate attention.
I would think that Clovis Community would have improved their patient services especially the emergency department after all these reviews. They just keep apologizing but not doing something about it. I don't know why they are voted the best hospital now.

I was a patient in the ER ED last Saturday and then admitted to the 5th floor, basic Med-Surg. The staff from the ER ED clerks to the RN and ER ED doctor were super from a clinical level to empathetic bedside manner. The hospitalist doc was great too. The MRI tech was super nice and reassured me during that procedure. Boy, do I have more empathy for my patients now. The floor nurses and and the staff were great on all the shifts. BTW ask any of the staff on the 5th floor about the army major RN CS FNP with the fake rubber mouse and cockroach they'll remember me. Thanks for your help, care and sense of humor.
God bless from a brother Nurse and medical warrior.

The emergency room takes way too long for patients to wait. They really need to improve the efficiency of their system. My father in a wheelchair had to wait multiple hours beforw being seen. Kaiser Permanente is way more efficient in my opinion.

This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. The inpatient and er room suck. They don’t care about anyone and just want money, my husbands had to go 4 times in 2 months after his surgery because they kept making errors.

I would not even give this hospital a start. Waited so long in the er to be seem, everyone who came in after was taken to the back first. They think that I can just triage a patient by looking at them n taking there vitals, wrong. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone.

Had surgery here about a week ago. Couldn't have been happier that my husband who is military insisted on having it at this hospital. The nurse who first contacted me to get all of my information registered into the system was such a sweet heart and even sent me an email with suggestions on how to better prepare for surgery. On the day of arrival our valey parking was free with how nervous my husband and I were this helped immensely. Davina, the girl who helped with our registration was a sweet heart walked us through everything patiently and told us where to go. When we arrived at outpatient the nurse who took all my information was fun and very patient with us. Once they prepped me my regular doctor came in to check on me and even informed me that the anaesthesiaologist would come in to introduce himself. All the nurses were very understanding and helpful my poor nurse after attempting several times to get my IV started and got two other girls to try and help her get my IV going. Third time was a charm and the were able to set me up and away I went into surgery. Today I recieved a hand written post card from the RN post-op. Just have to say thank you so much you were such a blessing to my husband and I. You guys are amazing! Lo

Worst place ever! First they put my unborn child and I in danger by discharging us when I was in full blown labor with complications. Then my husband goes in for problems with his neck, they wouldn't give him x rays or anything and were extremely rude. This is not how you treat people if I could give no stars I would. We went there for medical help not to be treated as if our lives are worth nothing and treated like dirt.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. I went in because I just moved here and hadn't been set up with a primary care doctor yet. I have degenerative disc disease and my left leg started going completely numb. Long story short, I went in and had the physician assistant in the ER talk to me like I was a drug addict. He was talking down to me, until I insisted that he look up my chart in Monterey county (which shows that I took myself off of pain medicine, of my own volition, after I had an epidural and physical therapy) and I asked him to order an MRI, since I knew my back had become worse. He finally ordered the MRI and, once he got the results, and proof that I have a legitimate issue, he stopped talking to me like a degenerate. It's sad that, because of the widespread abuse of medication, people like me are treated like addicts. It is unfair, embarrassing and demoralizing. I will never again wait 4 hours to be treated like something I'm not. I went there for help, not unfair judgement. This isn't the same hospital it was back in 2002, when I had my son. The labor and delivery people were great. The ER department, on the other hand, is a nightmare. They should drug test people when they come in, especially if they're there for a pain-related condition. I would have gladly submitted to one. Then, once they established that I'm not a drug addict, I may have had better treatment.

This afternoon, my three children, (11), (4), and (2), and I went to the emergency room with complaints of "Skin leisions"; not a "skin rash" as your staff has entered as my reason for visit. I explained that each of us has skin leisions that had appeared to be contagious, as they had been spreading over the past few days.
Although it was spreading and contagious, your staff thought it was safe to put us in a FULL waiting room, where my two year old threw up. We still were not separated and the nurse conducted business as usual, doing our vitals in the waiting room.
Afterwards, we were brought back to a first room, where Dr Jordan Harp asked few questions. I gave as much information as I could, as he did not seem too concerned about the blisters all over my children's body's. I advised I took them to the zoo on the 7th. We just started taking the city bus a week ago. We're visiting my sister and have used their soaps. I don't usually take the kids with me to the store but I took them with me grocery shopping and my daughter put her mouth on the side of the cart after I put the two little ones in it.
Dr. Harp suggested we got the blisters on our bodies from lice and that he really didn't know what it was. He did not take any cultures or suggest to take any. I advised my daughter had a fever. He said it could be anything. He advised he was going to give us some cream and sent us to the next waiting room.
A person came in stating they were going to be discharged us and I was upset that I came all the way out there for the Dr to not do anything but tell me "I dunno. Here's some cream". I pleaded with the nurse to check my kids because something was terribly wrong and it was not lice leaving marks on my kids back within hours of being there.
Dr Harp came back in and smugly told me "it's scabies or lice but he doesn't know and it's not his job in the E. R.to diagnose patients, but only to determine if it's an emergency or not, which CLEARLY it's not. Then we have to check with our REGULAR Dr and they may tell us something completely different. " I asked for another Dr's opinion and he said, " You've already had TWO Dr's opinions. Have a good day. " Then he walked out.
I am absolutely dumbfounded on how people can be treated like this. How do Dr's at your hospital "work" like this? I left crying. My sister's kids have it now too and they just left to Fresno Community Emergency Room because we still don't have answers. I will be filing a grievance against this hospital and against this DR. This is absurd. Your here to help people. He prescribed Permetgrin (ELIMITE) 5% CREAM and Permethrin (NIX) 1% LOTION.

Feb. 2016 my son was transferred via ambulance to Clovis Community ER. He was having severe head pain, the worst I've ever observed. They told the ambulance to put him in a chair in the waiting room. We sat there for 6 hours totally neglected. Finally, his pain was so bad, that I demanded someone look at him. I literally thought he was dying (I'm also a nurse). They took him for a CT Scan and found out his brain was bleeding. Then it was suddenly an emergency in their eyes! They immediately transferred him downtown to CRMC where he had emergency surgery. I live right next door to this hospital but would never choose to be seen here after this experience. Very scary!

Got there at 8pm dizzy and weak, waited 4 hours for my concerns to be ignored by the "DR" that looked at me for 30 seconds and have a blood test ran for pregnancy (which would be impossible for me) without letting me know why they were taking blood in the first place. Was not let known what they were doing and still had to wait 2 hours after for the "results". Worst hospital, they don't care if you're sick or dying, they just want you out of their waiting room.

First off, labor and delivery is FANTASTIC and I had a wonderful experience. This review is about the ER.

We arrived at ER at 2 pm. My husband had severe stomach pain, fever, vomiting, chest pain and diarrhea. He had kept nothing down for almost 20 hours. They got him back fairly fast for EKG, chest xray, and bloodwork. I thought great, they are on their game today. But why didnt they order an ultrasound for his stomach? ! They gave him a sublinguial zofran and a cup to pee in.

He pees in the cup, which his pee was dark brown, and sets it in the basket as instructed. An hour n a half goes by and he walks up there to check on all the testing. Lady says she never received his urine which is BS because it was sitting in the basket as instructed. So some other gal took the urine and got it to the lab.

We sat in the waiting room from 2 pm until 9 pm just for him to be told his labs look great and take Zofran. They never did an ultrasound on his stomach. Never checked his temperature until 9 pm. They NEVER offered fluids. And they gave him a Dixie cup to get water from a disgusting fountain in the ER while others got ice water. So now hes still peeing brown, still vomiting as he can't keep the zofran down, and still has severe diarrhea.

Prepare to wait ALL day for no help. Glad to know his chest is ok but all the other symptoms have worsened and there is no way in hell I'm ever taking any family there! Even a young kid was bleeding everywhere and they kept him waiting over 3 hours. Such a joke. Meanwhile, you could hear all the workers in the back bsing while 50 people wait to be seen in the ER. No compassion and very unprofessional.

I’m at Clovis community, the hospital is great, My wife did a c section, good so far, day shift nurses are great, but we had a problem with the night nurses, we called the nurse last night at 1: 00am and said will be there in minutes and never came in, fine, we took care of what we needed to. Later at 440 am called again and said will be there shortly, wait and wait, called again 515am, the person who answered the call said she will let nurse know, finally! Around 535 the nurse shows up. We understand she was busy with another patient who have done a c section, but someone has to come and see what other patient want, you can’t just let them wait for long time.

Waited 8 hours to get antibiotics after a breathing treatment. Admitting Dr. Shilpa has the worst people skills i have ever experienced in a doctor. Because of her very bad behavior towards me, I left with pneumonia. There was no way I was going to subject myself to more abuse by Dr. Shilpa. She needs to go back to school and learn how to talk and treat patients with respect.

I'm very disappointed with this hospital.
After going through several bad hospital experiences with my father (now deceased) I learned that in order to improve hospital experience, you need to voice your concerns. At one point I even went all the way up to speak to hospital director.
It's apauling that living in a diverse state, this hospital doesn't have well certified medical interpreters.
My mom (Spanish speaking only) is currently admitted at Clovis Community Medical Center (first time ever at this hospital). During the evening A Non-spanish speaking Dr came to speak to my mom. He brought along "an interpreter" to explain her diagnosis and what the prospective plan would be to treat her. Later that evening I spoke to mom, she stated to me that she didn't not understand what the interpreter told her as she didn't speak Spanish well.
How can a patient consent or understand thier treatment if interpreter can't correctly interpret what the dr is saying to the patient. This is total violation of civil rights. Hospital staff should be using an interpreter at ALL TIMES when treating, administering medication or when the nurse button is pressed, if the patient is non-English speaking. If an interpreter is not available, they should be using the lauguage line.
I will definitely be speaking with Patient & Family Relations ASAP.
