It is like a condensed version of a Home Depot. I really didn't expect such a great variety of products in the center of the city. And best is, the staff is highly skilled and has answers for all my questions.

Basically the only convenient hardware store in SOMA and it's nice that it's independently owned. Prices reflect the location but they have everything.

Cole Fox Hardware, an oasis of repair and home goods in the busy downtown area. Stacked to the ceiling with everything you could need, theres a packed downstairs, too.

Helpful staff, and free popcorn in the afternoons!

It might seem a bit cramped with thousands of tools but you will definitely find what you need in this place with the help of a staff member.

I've been there 3 times and within 2 minutes after entering the shop, a member of staff came to me and offered help. They stuck with me until I had all I needed. Super friendly staff and super helpful!

My favorite retail displays in the city!

The shop itself is decent, they carry a lot of stuff given their downtown location but it feels cramped and it can be hard to find stuff without the help of an employee.

They have little locks on everything, apparently to prevent shoplifting. But they don't have enough staff to actually unlock items so you can buy them. So the locks actually prevent customers from buying anything. All I wanted was a $5 padlock, but after 20 minutes of waiting for help, I gave up and left. I won't be back, either.

This is such a great store, I am normally in San Francisco to install equipment and if I need something then this is my go too.
