After spending a year and a half of my life in Japan I can honestly say this is one of the most authentic places I've had here in the states. The Diakoku Ramen is really delicious

Love to drive the distance to Little Tokyo to get ramen but the homeless issue in LA is so bad! The ATM where we are supposed pay for parking fee is completely blocked by trash and the homeless.

I came here after reading about all the good reviews and a must-try in LA. However, I was a bit disappointed compared to other ramens I’ve had in the past. The pork and broth were subpar in my opinion, and not too flavorful. Not sure if it was just a bad day, or just not my type of ramen.

We waited for an hour to seat and try ramen at this place. I had high expectation from the reviews but I was genuinely disappointed. I tried spicy noodle. Soup was OK, but nothing extraordinary to awe for it. The noodle, when I had the first sip, felt firm but slimy, which indicates to me that they probably did not boil noodle in running clear boiling water, or they did not drain water when taking noodle out and did not draining water well. My kids had regular Daikoku ramen, and felt that it was just fine. It was not worth waiting for an hour to eat, unfortunately, for our standard. It may be because we are from SF Bay Area, so we do have an access to ramen places nearby. If we came here 10 years ago, when ramen places were not so popular, and had this ramen, we would have said this is great, but not now.

We had lunch for 4 here, and the food was great. The ramen is high quality, though the only downside is that the soft-boiled egg was not very flavorful and was closer to a hard boiled egg. Otherwise, the service was great and the wait time was not bad at all. Highly recommend!

Went to this place because it is highly rated.

Loved the food & the service.

Vegan & Vegetarian friendly. They have 2 vegan Ramens, Tomato Vegan & Spicy Sesame Vegan Ramen.

They have Vegetarian Fried Rice & Vegetarian Pan Fried Noodles.

On my last visit. We ordered Tofu Nuggets. Really liked them. It contains smashed tofu mixed with carrots & edamame.

Highly recommend this place.

Be prepared for a long wait to get in. And then HEAVEN. They got our food out fast and with very nice service. Good price for the amount of food you get. This ramen may just be the BEST in Little Tokyo.

One of the best ramen I have to say. The wait is usually pretty crazy, at least 1 hr, but it is worth the wait. I usually order the Daikokuya tonkatsu ramen koterri combo with the pork cutlet rice. This combo is pretty huge for 1 person, you'll definitely get full and food coma. The broth is amazing and the charsu melt in your mouth. The noodles texture and firmness was good. The egg was normal, you do get 1 whole egg. Overall, You know it's good when you finish the entire bowl. The fried gyoza and takoyaki are good. I recommend sharing if you are on a date. The fried pork cutlet with rice is delicious. I recommend putting your name down and then walk around little Tokyo to kill time. The service is good too. Definitely recommend coming here if you are in town.

Best bowl of ramen I have had outside of Japan. Great service and environment got there right before the rush and it was perfect.

OMG best ramen I've had in all of Victoria, Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, and LA. I'm addicted to ramen but this place is THE BEST.

Wonderful and delicious food! If it were not so far away i would be there all the time!

Keep in mind, they get REALLY busy. If your party is not all there and ready to go you WILL be asked to wait outside until everyone is ready to be seated. They do not have a waiting area. Keep this in mind, They have a business to run and can't be saving tables for people who are not there!

Cash only ramen establishment that was voted the best ramen spot in downtown LA in 2018. It can be a bit pricey compared to other ramen places but they more than make up for it with generous portions. The food itself was pretty tasty. Watchout on your visit though as there will probably be a line.

Hands down THE BEST ramen I have ever had. They have other items as well, my personal favorite is the one on the back that is the ramen and pork rice bowl combo. Fair warning, it's a LOT of food, and I would say I can eat a lot. The atmosphere is cool as well, it reminds me of a ramen shop in the streets of Japan. Final note: if you come here and you put your name, make sure you are there for when they call your name, they will pass you over if you don't respond to your name being called!

One of my most favorite places on earth for food. The waiter of bluish gray hair was super kind, she made it more special.haha I got a Tonkotsu Ramen Bowl. Taste was great, environment was awesome and cozy. Service and prices good.
My only issue was that they did not take cards, I was short on cash and hence could not ask for all what I wanted.

Excellent tonkotsu ramen. A tad bit pricey but worth the wait! We went at 4: 30 on Friday and got the last booth.

Great food and cheap prices. Don't order too much if you're used to Japanese restaurants, the portions are American. Be prepared to wait for a while, if you have the time to wait it's worth it.

This place is over hyped. Shin den Gumi is better and my favorite is in Pasadena Tatsunoya. This place had a long wait about 40 minutes outside. And the service was slow. There was a few other tables that had their order taken after us. And they got their food right away. I waited about 20 minutes for my ramen nothing special. Anyway if you want to try it go for it.
It’s not bad but not as great as I thought it would be.

Their ramen is very tasty! Their broth is good! Making japan proud! I liked their creamy salad side dish! They serve ramen but they also have rice bowls with different kind of meat!

The line up was terrific, had to wait 1 hour! So if you want to try this place, make sure to come early and write your name inside! They will call your name when its your turn!

For having a 40 min wait under the midnight hour past booze time. This place is a must, extra kattori? Extra everything every night please and thank you! Little taste of Japanese ramen, with that LA feel. Coming back for seconds.
