Doctors on Duty reviews
21Dismissive and not helpful. Had multiple people claim they would assist me, only to not return my calls or leave me on hold indefinitely. Initial visit took over an hour of waiting for a 5 minute conversation with a nurse, while others were being turned away due to 2-3 hour wait times.
I’ve had many doctors/NP’s/PA’s over the years but today was my most positive experience with one. Amanda Almond took care of me today and I felt very validated, heard, and supported. She addressed all my concerns while providing a safe and judgment free environment. Thank you so much!
This place is horrible and I will never go there again. I called to see if they offered flu tests, to which they said yes and then told me to come on in. 10 minutes later I arrived, they checked me in, took my co-pay, proceeded to tell me they were out of flu tests, but offered me a COVID test to which I accepted. They told me I would get my results in 4-5 days. 9 days later I have heard NOTHING from them. Absolutely ridiculous! Turns out I had COVID, so I'm thankful that I followed up with my own testing so that I didn't infect anyone else. Go somewhere else if you want good care.
They got us in and out in under an hour. The staff were friendly and quick to get our information in order to be seen. The doctor was kind and knowledgeable. He listened to what my concerns where, and shared the circumstances in which we should return. Definitely a very positive care experience, thank you!
Hey! So I just have to share how amazing snd helpful everyone is at this place! I needed labs done. I was not waiting long and they were SO professional! Specifically the labs with Winfredo who was training with his preceptor! Cynthia was fantastic up front and calling my results back too. Thanks to the staff!
I've been to them quite a few times and they are awesome. I have already recommended to several people.
Waited 2 and half hours and paid $200 out of pocket, right when I arrived, just for them to tell me things I already knew. Don’t waste your time at this urgent care. It’s really not worth the time and money spent. You’ll leave disappointed. If I get sepsis, I blame you guys.
Doctors on Duty deals with so many patients a day/week/month. They help a lot of people dealing with worker’s compensation injuries, which is why I’m seeing their physicians. Even though it’s usually a 2hour wait to be seen! They are responsive and give you options, like calling you when your name is next in the cue of patients waiting! They are very nice and helpful, dealing with that volume of patients and paperwork a day must be so overwhelming! They really give you good tips like calling first thing in the morning to get your name in the system and they call you when it’s almost your turn! That way you don’t waste 1/2 your day waiting in the waiting room to be seen! Maybe having more locations would help these issues! But, until then, they’re working very hard to ensure that you get the right help when you need it!
The staff was great. Jami was fantastic with my niece, she is amazing with children and keeping them calm and comfortable. I don’t remember the doctors who we saw while in there, but they were also great with my 6 year old niece.
The staff was polite, professional, and caring. Thank you for everything you do to take care of the community.
Great experience for a clinic with capacity to take drop-ins. Staff was very helpful and nice!
Thanks you for being there and that my prescription were there when I went to put it in? I didn't have to wait? Thanks for the service?
I showed up at 8am, with only three people ahead of me, and waited 3 hours for my care, with a high fever and body aches, in my car outside. In total, I waited three hours. The steel door to the clinic remained closed the entire time.
I asked every 30 minutes (by phone) how much longer I'd have to wait - each time, they told me about 15-30 minutes more. In total, I ended up waiting 3 hours.
I was told there was only one physician (who ended up being a nurse practitioner) instead of three that day.
They took three swabs from me in total. They took two swabs first without any explanation, then told me that the combined Flu+COVID detection machine was not working properly, so they were not able to tell me if I had the flu. The third swab was used for COVID19, for which I tested negative.
The nursing and scheduling staff were polite but completely unaware and uninterested in my long wait; they seemed helpless but also nonchalant. I asked whether I should speed the process up by getting tested (for COVID19, which was an obvious candidate for my condition) while I waited; they shrugged and said there's nothing they could do until I saw the doctor, which took a total of three hours.
As I was in my car on the curbside, as long as 1 hour went by between anybody attending to me; otherwise, the steel door remained closed. The nursing staff seemed unwilling to respond to my repeated pleas that I was under great pain and discomfort; they kept saying that the doctor will be coming out shortly. In total, that took three hours.
(It seems from the other reviews that this long, unattended wait is a common experience)
Overall, my visit was perhaps *the most unpleasant experience* I've ever had at a medical facility. I'm not only never coming back, but I'm advising all of my acquaintances against visiting here. I regret having visited here, and regret having any payment being made here, through me or through my insurance.
Urgent care is not just another market product that one can shop around for. Patients visit with urgency, often with great pain and discomfort. They visit with neither a clear rational mind nor the time to shop around, and they are at the mercy of the first place they visit. The medical care provided should be attentive to this fact, and this clinic (Doctors on Duty) woefully fails.
The mechanism for improving or eliminating poor medical clinics will be slow, which I lament greatly. Other providers should build better competing clinics and push this clinic out of business. Or else, some sort of audit should be made to deem this clinic of low quality.
I had a great experience. Very kind,
Competent, courteous.
I got my first dose of MP Vax, and am so grateful!
I like Doctrs on duty. The location is great for when it's busy and can come back a certain time. I felt comfortable with all the staff. I recommend Doctors on Duty.
My Dr Amanda is the best and everyone working there are very professional.
Never had any problems or issues going there for few years now.
Thank you Dr Amanda
I'd rather drive half hour to Doctor's on Duty in Santa Cruz. Fast, friendly, and very professional services!
If you have medical it feels like you are forgotten about and ignored. Three visits and a lot of phone calls later for what should have been a single visit. My phone has to be off for work, can’t see missed calls when it’s off. No voicemails left for my referrals.no way to know they even called. Needs improvement
Went in for a sore throat and was told to wait out back. The wait time was 2 hrs which was fine so I waited until they called me to go out back. Went out back and called them to know I was there, I was told a doctor would come out in 5 minutes. 2 hours and 30 minutes go by and nobody came to help me. I called them again and asked if someone was coming to help, again said 5 minutes. I waited 30 more minutes then decided to leave. It made me very sad that I couldn’t get my sore throat checked and was lied to
