Downtown Hi-Tech reviews
22Every time I called in asking to get my phone replaced they promised me that they had a phone and then would give my phone to someone else. Then they said I didn’t have apple care, which they ended up being wrong about and I did. Next I set an appointment and when I showed up 20 minutes early (they told me to come at 3) they said that unfortunately they all had their bags packed to go home and were tired so they would like me to come back another day after I had to leave my work with major issues that required my attention in order to make sure that I was on time. I would leave negative stars if I could. Also they never pick up the phone I would sometimes have to call 5 times in a row to get someone to answer. I get being busy more than most people I feel, so please just try harder. I’ve now been working with a broken phone for over two weeks when this should have been an easy repair.
I called Downtown Hi-Tech to inquire about fixing my Macbook and the guy on the phone was incredibly rude and unhelpful. He guilted me for breaking it and didn't quote a price but said any fix would be "pricey". Took my Mac to Mikey's Hookup in Silver Lake and they fixed it, no questions asked and with all costs covered under Apple Care.
Nicest guys! And very knowledgeable! They validate parking just a heads up. They are on the bottom floor behind Nordstrom rack.
Took my MacBook in for repair & went back a week later to pick it up & it wasn’t ready.yet the guy kept me waiting for a whole hour before telling me it wasn’t ready. Therefore, to give him a couple more days & even then it wasn’t ready by the time he had said.
DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! They are scam artists that need to be reported to the BBB
The guy is soo rude! Drop off my computer for 24 hours. Called and no one pick up, went over there and he rudely stated people are ahead of you. No customer service what so ever in this place. Will not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
Don’t go! I really want to rate 0 star if the rating system allows me to! The store provided the worst service! The store charged my friend and me 150$ fee for only diagnostic fee! Guess how ”perfect” is the service? The boss promised that we would be given the diagnostic result within 24 hours when charging us 150$! But in reality, the store didn’t even start our diagnostic service fee within 24 hours! What’s worse? They refused to pay us $150 back even they did nothing when we withdrew our diagnostic service! The service can NOT be worse! Just go to Apple Store! Apple Store will give you diagnostic result for FREE within 10 mins!
If I could give them no starts I would please do not come this location staff are very unprofessional, disrespectful, rude and hostile. Apple should not be contracted with them
My phone was tripping out. I had no idea what was wrong with it. The guy who works here ran all the tests and assisted me no problem. He was very friendly and made it a really smooth process. I had nothing short of a great experience here. I'm surprised the reviews on here are so low. It almost deterred me from going to this location but I'm glad I went anyway. Pleased and happy customer here.
Do yourself a favor and go to an Apple Store. I know the one Downtown is not open yet, but driving to The Grove or The Americana will save you way more time than to go there.
I went there to fix my Macbook Air. I was told “5 to 7 business days”. It’s been 3 WEEKS! And I now have been waiting 3 hours in the mall for the computer to be ready (I was told to come at 11am, it’s now 2pm AND it’s still not ready). And no, saying “sorry dude” is not a good enough apology.
I also went there to fix my phone. I was told 2 business days. It took a whole week: STOP SAYING BS times if you have no idea at all. I called Apple and they were able to express the phone in one day. I got it the next day.
Oh and it you’re that busy, hire more people.
Totally terrible experience. Last Saturday I bring my Macbook Pro to there, they charge me 150 dollars directly for diagnostic fee and I didn't get the result within 24 hours. While in Monday, I just walk in and diagnose my machine for free and within 10 minutes I got the result. Just walk into Apple store even when you don't have an appointment! Never trust this place! Never!
Would give this place 0 stars if I could. Originally they told me the job would take 5-7 business days from when I turned my computer in. I sent in my computer 7 BUSINESS days ago not just a week and I had to call them to see when it would be finished. When I called they told me that the part DIDNT EVEN ARRIVE YET. I looked up online about receiving parts and apple said it should only take 1-2 days to receive it. So this just means that they literally haven’t worked on it since I sent my computer in. I’m absolutely outraged. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS
Had I been told I wouldn’t have my iPhone bAck for a simple screen replacement I wouldn’t have come, (I could easily do it myself but then it’s not covered) but when I arrived it was so busy (it was dead actually, always is) and the lazy kid behind the counter didn’t feel like doing work so he said it would have stay overnight unlike the guy that answered saying to show up with enough time tonight to have it done. I arrived 15 mins after I hung up the phone.
Great customer service every time I've been here. They always go above and beyond to ensure their customers are satisfied and well taken care of. It is so nice to have a place like this in downtown that you can fully trust with your Apple products.
I almost avoided this place because of the reviews. They repaired my computer that was covered by the warranty, and everything went smoothly.
Can not find worse customer service than this place. I would have given 0 start if I could.
1, Take way too long time than promised.
2, Very bad in explaining and disclosing what next steps for the device
3, Very very bad attitude
Apple should have discontinued working with them long ago.
Please try to avoid this store if you can
I ask for a service to call Apple customer service because I am French and can not explain my problem over the phone. The seller refuses saying that he has things to do while the store is empty. The staff is not helpful at all. I do not recommend going home!
First of all i went to the store because i need to do a claim on my sons phone and they couldn't help me worst costumer service ever, the employees have a bad attitude, you ask them a question and they got no answers or they don't even know what their doing or bother to even help you to try to fix the issue they couldn't resolve me anything they had call customer service for apple AND UNTIL NOW I STILL HAVENT GOTTEN NO ANSWER. DONT GO TO THE STORE IT HAS A REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE ITS NOT WORTH IT.
The two that helped me were very polite and answered any to all questions along the way. I received a detailed printed quote and timely responses!
Brought my laptop in to repair the space key, received no voluntary communication from them for a week; when I found out that my touchID was somehow broken in the first repair (I had no problem with touchID when I sent my laptop in), they told me that in order to repair this, it would involve changing the logic board that would wipe out all my data on the laptop. As you can imagine, I was a bit upset for this surprise. But I thought it was no big deal, because I could just back up my data and wait a few more days to get my laptop repaired. However, when I asked them to release the laptop to me so that I could back up my data for the second repair, they refused! Instead, they kept telling me that the initial repair was "incomplete" and only they could back up my data for $150. Essentially, they're holding my data as hostage to blackmail me for money and I was not having any of it. When I got Apple support on the line and told them the situation, the support staff told me that I had every right to have my unit back, but the guy at the store would not even talk to Apple support staff. Instead he gave me an ultimatum to pay or get my data destroyed that night after Apple support called them directly. I had to call the cops and write a lengthy angry email to Apple legal department to get back my laptop and data. Now Apple is investigating them and hopefully will terminate their authorized service provider status. I am also willing to provide more details and evidence to back up my story (I have recording of our conversation in the store, and all the email communication with Apple). If you still decide to bring your products to this shady place after reading this review, I could only wish you good luck and hope you get your unit back in one piece.
