From the very beginning of knowing I had a bone on bone issue with my right knee, I knew I was in the best hands with Dr. Mead. My issue was very dibilitating and weighed heavily on my ability to stand for a length of time. That alone made me quite weary of what my work life may look like. There is one more issue we're now addressing so Dr. Mead's commitment to me is really critical moving forward. Couldn't recommend him enough! Knee surgeries are not pleasant, Paul Mead, MD does everything possible to minimize the discomfort and advance a swift recovery. The team at Golden state orthopedics, which was John Muir orthopedics, is outstanding, and having done a lot of research, I decided on Dr. Paul Mead, based upon significant learned references in the medical profession. His colleagues speak highly of him, for good reason. Six stars if there were that many! By the way, I drove home from the surgery). I never took a pain pill. Can’t say enough good things about this team.

Dr. Mead did a total hip replacement on my 63 year old overweight body and I was playing golf a month later with no residual effects. An absolutely amazing doctor. If you are having this surgery Dr Mead is the surgeon for you. Thank you Doc!

Dr. Meade provided a clear review prior to scheduling surgery, preop the day of surgery, meeting me for a review immediately after surgery, and at the post surgery follow-up appointment. In all cases very clear helpful listen to my issues and explained. Extraordinarily helpful and I would recommend, Dr. Mead to everyone. I am now in my fifth week post surgery walking and doing well and continuing to get stronger. Couldn’t ask for anything better.

Dr. Mead seems young (compared to me), but he is the consummate professional. He listens to you, and takes time to make you feel comfortable about any planned procedures. In the past two years I've had left and right total knee replacement. Dr. Mead and his staff have treated me with the finest of care from pre-0p to p0st-0p and still checking on my progress 2 months later from all levels 0f care. I feel the entire “project” went exceptionally well. The key of course was/is in the recovery and rehab aspects. I feel that I had a very good recovery period after the surgery. No ill effects and no serious pain. In fact, I only took 2 or maybe 3 of the codeine pills in the first two days and that was it. I have a neighbor friend who had the same procedure 2 weeks before me (different Dr.and office) and she is still having moments of discomfort.
Now the rehab (physical therapy) was a bit more challenging and for good reason. Hard work for both the therapist and me but I feel it was necessary to get me going.
People ask me if I was happy I had it done and would l do it again and I answer “yes and yes.
The pain I experienced before is totally gone and I feel no restrictions. Very pleased with my replacement results.
