George's Camera

My son does business with George's camera. I just drive him there. He likes everything he has done there.

Have been getting equipment from George's camera since in the navy in 1991. I help my command and ship get vital camera equipment, and George camera supplied all our needs. Now retired, Im coming back to them to help me get back into photography and my visit today was great.

Expensive but worth it its a one stop shop on all your camera needs if they dont have it im sure they can get it or point you in the right direction

Left UNHAPPY. I went in the other day excited to purchase a new camera by Sony. I called in before heading down and talked to Mark and asked if they price matched. He said they did and had the product in stock. I told him before the leaving my house that I saw the product for $698. $752.10 (Tax +Shipping Included) for the total sale on focuscamera.com. I go to the store and miraculously (less than 3 hours) the price was changed to it's normal price $748. $809 (Tax + Shipping Included) for the total sale price.ok then, so I begin to find more price matches. I find a price match on discountbandit.com for $733.04 (Tax + Shipping Included). Mark begins to look the website on his end and refuses to price match them.ok then I'll find another price match. I find one on precision-camera.com for $748 (Total Sale Tax + Shipping Included). Precision Camera is a LEGITIMATE AUTHORIZED dealer and is Texas' largest camera store. Mark refuses to price match that as well.

I ask why not.when I was clearly told that I could price match? Another associate, Peter then steps in and explains that he can't take the taxes off. Working in electronics retail for many years I completely understand that no one (unless a church or the Military is purchasing) can take taxes "off. " I show Peter the final price on precision-camera.com and he begins to deny my price match again with an extremely passive aggressive manor to protect the discount of the sale in the store.

I ask if they could adjust the subtotal to reflect their competitors price (a difference of less than 10%). Peter refuses to acknowledge and denies the sale abruptly.he then escorts me out of the building.

I'm UPSET because I was told I could price match before coming down and then was denied. I'm MORE UPSET that I couldn't support a local business and give the sales associate the deal (I know they are on commission.) To deny a first time customer that is young, local, creative and self employed is a ball dropped over a 10% discount. Mark or Peter didn't even try to save the sale and just let me walk without any reassurance in the company. The attitude and environment of this store needs to change.

George's camera is great. They are always so nice and helpful. I always feel comfortable asking questions there. Peter was especially helpful when my husband and I went in today.

Only place I could find that still develops film. Quick too. Forgot my Debit card there and they quickly called me and told me it would be with my order, and could be picked up with proof of ID. Great people!

Very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. If you need something for a real camera, this is the place to go.

If you're a photographer and tired of being talked into things you don't need, go here. You never walk out of their doors feeling like you purchased something you don't absolutely need. Most times they will teach you simple hacks to get any look you're going for!

They carry a large selection of everything for your photography needs and the staff is really knowledgeable.

Avoid during weekends at all cost. Besides a few employees, who actually care about their customers, most will completely ignore you unless you are looking to buy (usually high-end digital cameras). Also, film developing is outrageously overpriced. Developed a roll of 35 (B&W) and 120 (B&W) and walked out spending nearly $50-i didn't even have them printed.

Walked in not knowing much but after working Paul, I feel pretty good. Loved the friendly, non-judgmental, one on one service. I will definitely be back.

Never really liked going to George's I usually go to Camera Exposure. However for new cameras and equipment this place is good. Friendly staff and they finally have a wide selection of film. I might be going here a lot more!

Great service from Nico! He's very friendly and knowledgeable of the products. He helped me find and test the lapel mic and cell phone tripod attachment I needed. Thanks Nico!

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with visiting either George's Camera location. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I have visited other camera stores in San Diego and George's Camera is a step above all of the others.

Excellent selection of camera gear for both digital and analogue users with extremely friendly and down-to-earth staff. Highly recommended

This is a great camera shop. Why buy from a big box store when you can have one on one attention from a sales person who is also a photographer. Just a short walk from parking ramp. Oh yeah if you are on a budget that also have great quality used gear.
