This place should be reported and investigated for fraud. After reading the multiple reviews on how they over charge people in need and give them the run-around and never provide the therapy needed, they should not be in business. People are coming to them in need of HELP some already at their breaking point, and this place is taking advantage. I almost booked an appointment but was turned off by their questionnaire. All of the people were victimized by their poor billing practices need to report them to the state agency and insurance company. These experiences are horrible especially for someone who is hurting and needs support. What is wrong with these people? !

I booked a virtual appointment for a general psych evaluation. I was hoping to get a second opinion on an ADHD diagnosis I had received from a different doctor. When booking the appointment I was very clear about what I was hoping to get out of the appointment, and that I was not interested in medication, I simply wanted an accurate opinion on a diagnosis. I also confirmed with the front desk before booking that I would only be responsible for a $30 co-pay. When I had my appointment, the doctor was not helpful. She said she read over my profile and wanted to start a medicinal treatment. I explained that I was not interested in medication at this point and only wanted her opinion of my ADHD diagnosis. She told me that she was unable to do that and prescribed medication anyways. Our appointment was only about 15 minutes. When I got the bill it was for $250. I called the office to explain that my co-pay should only be $30 and they let me know I would have to contact the financial department because they could not make that change. After a few weeks, they finally refunded me $220. After about a month, I randomly got another charge from Happier Living for $324.51. I called the office again to ask about this charge and they literally said, "I don't know what that charge is for. " I had not had an appointment with them in over a month. She told me she would contact the finance department again and have them call me. At this point, Happier Living has wrongly charged me over $500 for a 15 minute appointment that I was not satisfied with. Do not book an appointment with them. You will be incredibly disappointed.

Patient beware.this place charges in excess of $500 for missed appts, no matter if ur ill or not they charge.no discussions to be had no removal of fee when the why is shared - just the charge and that’s it.what a poor way to take care of its patients.the therapy sessions were mediocre at best.avoid the f outta this place.find a place that works with their patients and cares more about people than profit.

Their billing arm HardLoop policies are nothing short of predatory. Missed appointment fees are literally hundreds of dollars. The name alone should tell you all you need to know, hardloop sounds like a evil corporation from a dystopian future fiction novel. Avoid at all costs.

Tried to get help for my son who is an adult and was looking for a course of action. He signed all consent forms for me to be in the loop and I Signed their forms as financially responsible person. Wanted to know the plan and no one will speak to you. All they keep trying to do is schedule another appointment.
What is the plan? Nobody knows. Dr.did not return calls. Girl answering phone doesnt know and says speak to the Dr.

The staff who manage the front desk (check-in, payment, scheduling) are super approachable and have always been helpful and kind to me. I love that there is an online patient portal. The doctor's I have seen at this location have been kind, responsive, thoughtful and deliberate. Great experience all around and I would definitely recommend!

Stay away. They do not listen. My daughter went in begging for help. Nothing was done and she was told to come back in six weeks. Her critical time is now not in six weeks. Don't waste your money which they are more than happy to take in large amounts.

If you want to be treated with respect and as a patient do not come here. The staff was extremely rude and had poor communication skills. I arrived 8 minutes late for a 40 minute appointment (keep in mind they claim to have a 20 minute grace period). When I got there they refused to see me and tried charging me a $500 missed appointment fee.

So let me get this straight, I showed up and had over 30 minutes left of reserved time and you claim I never came and need to pay $500 now. What a joke, find a new place that will take you seriously.

This group does not make the effort to listen to patient's needs and wishes. When I reached out to this group to inquire about seeing someone I made clear that the reason I needed a new therapist was because my current therapist was no longer going to be in network. I made clear who my insurance provider was and that I needed to see someone in network. I had called my insurance and been told that the group was in network so when I called the Genen Group I assumed they would comply with my request to give me someone in network. They did not, and only after 2 visits did they make clear that the individual that they had given me appointments with was one of the few members of their group who was not in network. They have shown little consideration for making this error and I have lost a lot of faith in them as a care provider.

The Genen Group deserves 10/10. The office spaces are beautiful. It’s such a relaxing environment! The support staff is friendly and responsive and the doctors go out of their way to focus on your emotional and physical health - it’s not just about the medication. They take time to get to know you. Dr. Genen is knowledgeable as well as friendly, which makes conversations so easy! Highly recommend.

This place has a terrible front office. I attempted to book through an assistant who was given the run-around. Then I called in twice personally to straighten things out and didn't get a timely response. Their internal system allowed booking with a doctor who no longer accepts patients, and no appointment cancellations were sent out. Terrible experience.

They are very "business centric". Strict policies meant to cushion their bottom line as a business, but made to sound like they are there for the benefit of the patient. Dropped my insurance shortly after I started seeing a provider.

I love that I can see my psychiatrist - Dr. Naig and psychologist - Dr. Martinez at the same group and they accept my insurance which keeps it affordable. I feel like they really lisetned to me and helped me set goals that are making a difference. THANK YOU! I feel like people who bash this group are irresponsible because they're angry they have to pay a bill or can't get their act together and be on time. Come on people - this team is awesome - grow up.

There's sometimes miscommunication with the Billing department. They insist on keeping your credit card on file, and my card was debited by mistake on three different occasions for over $200 on each transaction. And all they feel they need to do is apologize without any other accountability. My doctor is great though.

Highly recommend! Really enjoying my experience so far. I’ve seen Dr. Genen and Dr. Rankin. They’re awesome. Doctors that listen and get it. They’ve helped me tremendously. Before I found them I wasn’t happy in my relationship or work. So happy I started therapy and made some changes. Offices are gorgeous and support staff has been great to work with. Did I mention - they take my insurance - easy breazy.

Should not be in practice, especially for the population of patients they are trying to treat. I would say this is not somewhere to go if you have mental health problems, as they may become exacerbated due to experiences at this clinic.

I moved from NY and needed to find a new psychiatrist to prescribe my medication for ADHD. I didn’t initially like that they required me to come in monthly to get a prescription. But I am so happy they did. I worked with Dr. Genen to identify some annoying side effects that my prior doctors and I had ignored. He spent more time with me than any of my prior doctors to listen to me and work with me and the med changes we made have been so helpful. I also started therapy – something I had never tried before – and I highly recommend. I’m a busy professional so I’m so appreciative that their appointments start and end on time – so rare to find. I have to agree that a lot of people posting negative things online about this group seem wildly immature – I get you’re seeing a psychiatrist because you have issues – but a lot of these complaints seem really petty.

I highly recommend the Genen Group and Dr. Irving! They are well staffed and extremely efficient at what they do. Scheduling appointments is easy, and they even send text and email appointment reminders which I find very helpful. Dr. Irving is highly qualified and supportive.

The highlights…Great doctors who truly listen. Dr. Naig went to Johns Hopkins – really smart, listens and clearly cares. Dr. Martinez – wow, does she get it. They accept my insurance. Easy to schedule my appointments. Appointments run on time – what? ! They have support staff – first mental health office I’ve been too that does – as opposed to dealing with my therapist for everything. The offices are beautiful. Thank you!
