Humane Society Silicon Valley reviews
34If a dog or cat are waiting to find a forever home this is the place to be. They are cared for and loved.
They rescued my dog and I was able to get her back thank goodness she was okay to take good care of her
Really nice facility and park. I'm not a member so we didn't actually use the park, just walked by it when taking my dog to classes there. It's a little out of way for us so we didn't opt for the pass. Great teachers and staff and the whole campus is very nice.
Very nice people.the building was extremely clean and the dogs looked well taken care of more like a doggie Hotel
I'm torn, so torn. I want to love this facility, but we have had terrible experiences.
We just moved to the area (about three months ago), coming from ATL, GA. We been to many shelters and human socities, as we are some of the biggest animal people. This was one of the nicest facilities we've ever seen. The rooms are appropriate size for the dogs, they all have fantastic accessories for their rooms, & all of the animals look like they are being greatly taken care of while they stay there waiting for their new family and homes. The parks out front are incredible, and after doing research on the facility, it seems this is an incredible one stop shop for any of your pet needs. Even a pet store on site. This is rare and hard to find!
Here's where I am torn. I don't know if we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time twice, or if this is a normal occurrence. But I wanted to review my experience because despite the fantastic facility, we had a pretty miserable time here.
We are in the market for a new pup. We have an almost two year old who loves dogs, and we wanted to add a furry friend to our family that she could love on and grow old with. We were looking at small to medium size dogs, which they had a great selection for. We went up there on Saturday to find that a lot of the little pups were out in the park for playtime. My daughter got to greet many of them on the outside of the fence. We saw one we fell in love with and went inside to ask for more information on him. The volunteers didn't have any info on the dog and told us that frankly that meant he was not available for some particular reason they didn't know at the time (could be behavioral, medical, etc.). All we knew is he wasnt available to have interaction even though he was outside with a play group from the facility. We were told to check back daily. We left and went home. We were kind of upset that no one was willing to dig a little further to give us more details - but were okay with checking back. We went home (less than 15 min away), and the dog we were interested in was posted once we got home. He was gone before we could get back up to the facility.
We were watching the adoption page as we then realized how quickly things progress at this location. We noted three new terrier mixes were added Saturday night after the shelter was closed. We showed up Sunday morning about 20 minutes after opening and checked in at the iPads. When I asked what position we were in line to see the three puppies. I was told we were third. When it came our time to see the puppies (2 were claimed by the first two people who viewed), a volunteer went to walk us back, and we were stopped by another volunteer to say someone was before us. Despite letting it be known we were there before when I asked & being originally told we were next, they let the other family in front of us. That was the difference of us getting a chance at the puppy versus not.
I'm sorry for the novel, but it wasn't just one experience for my family that we felt left behind on our wants to rescue a dog here. Like I mentioned, I can't determine if we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time twice or if these issues truly derive from a staff that didn't have it together at all.
We left broken hearted.
I am glad I’ve been to this place for a field trip in my school, because now I want to adopt a puppy and I know exactly where to get it. Thanks!
I adopted two cars from here. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They are compassionate in what they do. It is a great place to adopt your next pet.
Everyone there is very nice. However, we had to put down our beloved pet, and that's the place you go to do it, by appointment. She was a small, lovely animal. But when they gave her the first dose of stuff, I don't think they knew how to deal with small dogs, she yelped in pain, probably the first time in her 14 year life. Of course it didn't last long, but that whole day broke my heart, and that she had to endure pain in her last moments makes it much worse.
They were truly helpfully and delicate with me. My beloved cat of 14 years had to be put down and they were very respectable. I was able to get an urn for her and a cremation at a fair price.
Great place to find friendly animals needing a home. They let you play for awhile with a dog or cat of your choosing without committing to an adoption.
They were rude and accused me of being a bad pet owner when I was under a lot of stress. My cat was pregnant and couldnt give birth on a Sunday morning. I was driving everywhere trying to get help since I dont have a lot of money and they treated me like I was abusive to my baby. They also tried to trick me into leaving her there so they could take her and not give her back to me. I was so distraught and emotionally unstable because of this place. Instead I was able to find nice people at a different place who helped me out and now I have 3 beautiful kittens and my baby is happy being a mother. Ive never been treated so poorly and it ruined my experience and view of this place.
I used to work around the corner from this location. One year not too long ago after the death of our dog, my wife found a new puppy to consider. When I came down here to check her out, the staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the dog and everything I would need to know. We did adopt that dog and she stayed with us until her death. This place has my full support.
A very nice place for vaccinating dogs and cats. They have a huge facility. Pets also available for adoption. Spaying and neutering is much more economical compared to other vets.
Took the ferals here for the trap neutered and release (TnR) program. If you have feral cats issues in your community, this is the place to go to. Free and friendly service to Santa Clara County residents including spayed/neuter, vaccines, deworm and deflea on feral cats. Stabilize the feral population by stopping breeding.
