Ugh I had such a romantic night here. The truffle fries and ahi tuna tartare was so amazing. We got the berry la and the lolita, and they were legit the best cocktails we ever had. Our serve, she was so great. I came Friday night at 10: 45 PM and she had a leather jacket on. I couldn't catch her name but SHE WAS AMAZING AND DESERVES A RAISE.

You will see the most gorgeous views of DTLA here. Perfect to grab a drink. Dress up to the 9s like everyone else. People who want to be seen and looked at sip their cocktails here.

My first time here and I was amazed. The staff was so organized with all safety guidelines for Covid. Staff wearing masks, gloves and face shields which made me feel better about eating out. The city views were amazing! Dinner and dessert was great. I will definitely be back again.

I've had Le Marais Bakery bookmarked for a while once I found out that it's the sister restaurant of Aroma Cafe in Studio City. Being a regular of Aroma, I finally got the opportunity to try Alcove and see how they compare.

I think I wanted to give this a higher rating. This Cafe certainly has that unique and cute atmosphere. French.

You should come for brunch though my girlfriend and I only came for an afternoon coffee and pastry on a Sunday afternoon.

The pastries ran out by the time we got there at 3pm. So we only ordered a chocolate croissant. I got a macchiato. I would say it's pretty average and you could go to a neighborhood coffee shop for a cheaper cup.

But they have really nice decor and it's fairly quiet, so you could definitely enjoy your conversation.

Come earlier! I may update this rating based on an earlier experience, but the chocolate croissant did not impress me.

Lovely addition to the neighborhood. Great food, friendly service, and that comfortable, vibrant, Euro bistro atmosphere that adds a touch of class.

The food is superb and affordable, the service is great, and the ambiance is very interesting. The pastries are to die for. I strongly recommend it!

Sometimes the service is amazing, sometimes it's a little slow but the food is ALWAYS delicious. The almond croissant is my favorite.

The food, pastries, and coffee are excellent, they get 5 stars. We go back pretty often for that. However, their service really lacks some common sense (as someone else put it, there’s always something “not quite right”). We’ve had all of the following happen to us:

- we got brought glasses, but no water (until we ask).
- we got brought a water bottle, but no glasses
- we got food but no silverware.
- we got coffee, asked for sugar, but were not given silverware to stir the sugar into the coffee.
- we got coffee and sugar, and got one tiny fork placed in the sugar with no other silverware.
- we got coffee long after our meal.
- one person’s meal got brought out 10+ minutes before the others.
- one person’s meal didn’t get brought out at all, and just had to be removed from the check because we had to get going.

It seems like a lot of these problems would be fixed by just having some checklists on how to do things. Bussing a table? Place cups and silverware before people sit. Making a coffee? Give sugar, cream, and make sure to bring spoons. Giving meat? Bring a steak knife.

I’m not sure why these things are so systematically bad at Le Marais, but it’s super frustrating. It’s like dining in another dimension.

French bakery serving traditional dishes with an American taste. Wish the pastries and sandwiches and soups were tastier. Salads is yummy. Cute place overall with great customer service.

Adorable little cafe! Everything about it reminded me of my time in Paris, especially the menu! I got a decaf cappuccino and espresso danish. I think they acci7dentally made me a regular cappuccino so I couldn't finish it, but it was still good! I will definitely be back for un petit dejeuner.

Great breakfast experience. Loved the setup, with nice outside tables in full sun on a good day. Appreciated the fact one can create his own bowl. I can also recommend the croque madame, very well made although together with the bowl it's a bit much (make sure you're hungry!)
Definitely recommended

Holy Moly! Go early, sip your coffee, sneak in a pastry, balance of sweet and savory is perfection.and oh yeah, street parking is tough to find.

Love this place! The ambience, the pastries, the cooked food were totally awesome. I felt spoiled like a poodle in Paris. Service was a little slow, because they, like every other restaurant in SF, were short staffed. My food took a while to come out, as it's freshly cooked-to-order. Folks, please don't be too harsh on your reviews about the food coming out slowly-this ain't fast food!

Prices were more than reasonable for what I got. Portions were big too.

All this place has going for it is that it's extremely instagramable. Between the white tables and attractive plating, Le Marais nails the photogenic category. Unfortunately, the food wasn't up to bar. We ordered a couple large boards that covered nearly the entire menu but it felt forced trying to come up with 8 selections. The biggest disappointment with the food was the potatoes. They tasted so bland, as if they forgot to season at all.

This place is only getting three stars because it’s cute and I like their food. Their pastries are delish too.
I’ve gone a few times and there’s always something not quite right. Today our table was next to the coffee maker. He slides over two coffees after we’ve finished eating- no apology. Is this a coffee shop where you just make the drinks and leave them on the counter?
One of the drinks is wrong, still no apology. Again leaves the drink on the counter and tells us it’s ours.
The kitchen is always great. The food is always great. The service isn’t great.
Maybe they’re understaffed. But at least get some servers with customer service to make up for it.

This place is fantastic for brunch. The avocado toast was epic- it comes with a crosiaant, avocado and easy over eggs on top. The service is great every time I come here. May get busy during the weekends and tables aren't big so big groups may have to wait longer.

The food is on point. Picky omlette eater and it was PERFECT.
Everybody in the kitchen are running. From dishwashers to the chef

I really liked the concept of pik your own food. They have a list where you can pik whatever u want in your salad bowl or platter
The barista cruise a but too much when i come in and made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Why 2 stars then? The service waiter defenitely doesnt fit the vibe of a french bakery. Attitude unfriendly.

I have to say I really liked this place. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. The coffee was great. But the pastries were really the star. I was sad when Hearth on 17th closed because it can be difficult to find a nicely laminated pastry. You often have to go far and wait in line. Le Marais is a little treasure in the Castro. The chocolate kouign amann managed to be both light and compact (like a kouign amann should be) at the same time. The chocolate was pleasantly bitter and, of course, sweet. And the almond croissant was not too overbaked - as someone twice-baked almond pastries can be. Instead, it was just crisp enough and just sweet enough. The only problem I had with the experience was trying to narrow down what to get and then overeating nonetheless. This will probably become a go-to reading spot for me.
