Le Marais Bakery, San Francisco CA

I live around the corner, and the new-ish Le Marais is great for specific situations. The pastries and coffee and eggs and fresh greens are excellent, although pricey even for SF. Anything involving avocado is a gamble.twice it’s been excellent, twice one of the halves has been unripe. For $14 avo toast, I expect better. The service leaves something to be desired. Usually you don’t have one server, but whoever happens to be around. I recently received my coffee after I was finished with my main course, without apology or explanation.

Probably best for pastry take-out, all things considered.

Delicious food and good service. The space is very nice and you can see the baristas work. Good selection of pastries. They have wine and wine-based cocktails. Food is as good as their marina location. The steak is cooked nicely and comes with either salad, or salad and potatoes. Croissant sandwiches are great.
