Mac's Old House reviews
30Mac's Old House has always been my favorite restaurant for many years. I do not live in Antioch but I have family members who reside here. Every time I visit them, I always have to swing by this place for dinner. The prime rib is to die for, the vegetables are seasoned to perfection and the pasta is so good.
The bar drinks are also very cheap which is a bonus while waiting for a table. However, in the current time my family did takeout when they relaunched their regular dinner menu and the service was very fast and the employees were very friendly and greatly appreciated our business.
Had to get "to go" orders due to covid but that food was right on point! From the salami salad to the smackin prime rib, can't go wrong with a home town classic.
The price of the food and drink was surprisingly inexpensive at Macs in comparison to the portion. The Minestrone soup was thick, hearty and flavorful; perfect with the bread that was served. The ribeye looked thick and tasty; but, I went with the Cajun snapper. Which was delicious and plentiful.
Great little American food shack. Features a hand full of dinners like prime rib and calamari stake, but executes them very well. 2 can eat well for under $40. Main courses come with soup or salad, plenty of fresh bread, a small pasta and veggies. We took food home. They wrap your meal up as a to go but have a nice grassy front yard area for outdoor dining if you wish.
The wait time to be seated is usually long but worth it not so kid friendly best to go with friends or on a date my husband Michael and I love the prime rib
I took my wife to Mac's Old House for our 24th Aniversary. The Prime Rib and horseradish amazing my wife had the Calamari Steak, tasty as well. Watched Monday night football, good times at Mac's
My wife got lucky later that night.
Delicious food. Especially the minestrone and fresh bread. The bar is very cheap with really good drinks. The staff is wonderful too for the most part, especially the bartender Mike. Just don't go during the weekend unless you're going for the bar. It's always packed to the max on weekends. Usually there's a 45 min- an hour and a half wait. The fastest Ive been in there is under 30 minutes. But definitely worth the wait.
The bar has drinks that just slide down, while you wait to be seated. People are friendly, comfortable and familiar, even if you've never been there. Dinner was fantastic, and worth the wait. I ordered the prime rib medium rare, and it was. Drinks are super cheap, and the staff act like they are happy to be there. Someone was celebrating a birthday and many patrons from different tables sang along. Maybe my new favorite!
Steak salad French bread was completely outstanding! Only regret was I hadn't been here sooner.definitely come g bk.
One of the best places on earth. Great tasting food with quaity and quantity to price ratio you can't go wrong. Affordable family dining which is so rare any more.
I forgot how cool this place is. Sat at the bar while waiting for a table and had 2 "triples" for $7. Menu was simple and reasonable. Almost got full just from the soup salad and bread. The minestrone soup was awesome. Steak was good, not great, but appropriate for the price. Service was very good.
The menu doesn't have a ton of selections, but it's good that they stick with what they're good at. We had to wait awhile to get seated, which we took as a good sign. After all, if their food was gross there wouldn't be much of a wait. Tons of food came out to the table during several courses. All of it delicious! Prices for all that food were more than reasonable. 10/10 would go there again!
Food here is excellent the service isn't always the best, but for the price and the amount of food you get it is worth it. Plus you can get cheap drinks!
Great food great prices great people. The perfect triple threat! Go once youll be back. I guarantee it!
This restaurant is absolutely amazing if you can make it down to Antioch it is the best food that I’ve seen in a long time the only thing is you have to be patient because there is long waits at sometimes but it is well worth it fair prices drink prices are amazing People are great amazing service way better than CJ’s
Great food and reasonable prices. The bar is has the cheapest menu in town. The only negative complaint is the restaurant is really small.
Great Steak Sandwich at an awesome price. Cost effective cocktails. Don't expect fancy and you will be very pleased.
Always a pleasure going here. Have been for years! Great food, great portions, and astounding prices! 12.99 for a 3 course prime rib meal and ridiculously cheap drinks! Staff is awesome. Definitely a must go!
Best steakhouse FOR THE PRICE! Order a Woodford reserve shot for 3$ and they pour you a tripple everytime. This place is amazing! Fat steak dinner for 13$ with awesome Minestrone soup, bread, salad, then some (bad) pasta and steamed vegis as a side. Totally worth going. Be prepared for a wait. This place has a 30min+ wait 15 min after they open. Go there, They are great!
