Mend Urgent Care

I've been here on four occasions because it's close to my house and I can be seen quickly. The level of care is hit or miss. My last visit I was seen by a PA, Emily Liu and she was very thorough and caring. Figured out the right meds right away. The exam rooms and bathrooms always look and feel dirty to me. And the billing is a nightmare. Each time, their billing dept has submitted the claim under the incorrect tax ID. It takes several calls to both Mend and my insurance to get it straightened out. I called Mend billing a few minutes ago and the recording told me there were SEVENTY callers ahead off me. What the heck? They do have the option of leaving a call back number so we'll see how this goes. My advice is only go here if you have no other options and be prepared for billing problems.

The worst place, I was having fever for seven days, I gave test for covid-19 twice and they came negative, so I asked them to take an x- ray but they said no my lungs they are ok because doctor checked already, so we should give you injection true your blood, you might have blood infection, without taking blood test, i was disagree with them and left the place, next they i went to emergency they did X-ray and they told me that I have a Pneumonia, so yeah be well everyone.

Check in was the thing that took the most time because you have to do it yourself. It’s easy though. Reception was nice and it was a Clean place. Lilit was super nice, took my blood pressure and gave me an anti- itch shot. She also checked in on me 10 mins after for side effects. Made me feel safe. Then NP Abbie checked all my rashes and gave me intensive education on my diagnoses and also what I might have to do if it doesn’t get better, which I liked. And prescribed the anti itch shot. Juan was taking notes and he was very polite while I was being examined. He sent my prescription to the pharmacy very quickly. I was in and out within an hour. Came in at 11: 00am, left for lunchtime at 12: 00 before they closed at 12: 30.

The staff here is super nice and compassionate. I was here Friday around 4: 00 and I had the most sweetest, kind hearted P. A. She was very knowledgeable and addressed my needs that was going on. I wish I got her name, but she was very compassionate.

The doctor she’s really nice but the medical assistant is a pain in a but no great customer service and no people skills.

Absolute poster child for what American healthcare does not want to become, we are in a state of distress and we have a bad name throughout healthcare in America, as it is then the goverment, and local agencies allow this place to obtain a license to practice medicine on humans none the less.
Please Burbank and surround areas take your business especially when it comes to your own health or that of your family elsewhere, for your sake.

Malpractice and incompetence. BS marketing. Poorly and inefficiently run. They don’t care, go somewhere else if you can. But hey they have a fancy waiting room.

I went to Mend Urgent Care in Burbank with a serious laceration on my ankle. I received top notch care by their Physician Assistants Emily Luu and Yelena Tumasyan. They and nurse Lisa's care comforted me greatly. Thank you.

I came in with a sick kid, and waited OVER an hour. At which point, I asked how much longer do you think it will be. I am told the PA (physician's assistant - they don't have any real medical doctors on staff, just the ONE PA) still has 30 minutes with the current patient, and there are two additional patients ahead of me. I can make it to several other Urgent Cares in that amount of time (and I did - 10 minutes later I arrived at another urgent care, and 5 minutes later, my kid was in front of a REAL MD doctor - not a PA). If a patient walks ins and the wait time is WAY more than the amount of time it would take to drive to any of the other, relatively close by urgent cares, then you should tell that to the person walking in. Oh, they did collect my $50 co-pay within the first 5 minutes. My money they can take in a timely way, but not my sick kid. I will never return and cannot recommend this place to anyone.

BEWARE and STAY AWAY! I recently took my son to this location in Burbank to have his hand and wrist looked at because he was in a lot of pain. He was seen by one of the doctors and her diagnosis was he had a fracture and told me we had to go to an orthopedic doctor that could treat him. We took the X Rays they gave us to the orthopedic doctor and we were told my son did not have a fracture after spending hundreds of dollars to see the Orthopedic doctor. My child was stressed out for several days until we could get him seen by an orthopedic doctor. My wife had to take time off of work and pull my child out of school to go see a doctor that we did not need to see.

I called several times to find out how this could happen and spoke to the staff at their corporate office and she told me that someone would call me, that never happened. I was then dealing with another person (a guy) that told me the owner would call me and that never happened. I called back a few days later and spoke to the same guy and he told me that the owner told him he was going to have the director call me and that never happened.

I do not know what type of organization these people are running, but after reading all the reviews online about Mead Urgent Care it is very clear that they are well aware of the operation they are running.

Was my second visit a few months ago. Sometimes there’s only nurse practitioner, not a doctor! The NP has a lack of knowledge and very rude. But the doctor I first met was really nice and knowledgeable.

I went there 2 times, I suffer for back pain and waiting for a knee, both times doctor said we run out of medicine, seriusly!

This place was amazing, the girl at the front desk was very sweet and helpful. It ddint take as an hour for in an out. The staff was very knowledgeable! Thank you Mend for being there for us!

The whole staff was awesome today to help our five year old daughter. New to the area and felt very welcome. Dr. Abramian gave us great information and when we were in the car our daughter said that was a very nice doctor. Thank you!

Best service the doctor is great he provided real care. My daughter 3yrs old went in for an ear infection and he prescribed antibiotics ear drops. He also gave me doctors hints on how to give her the medicine with out pain (warm the ear drops) you don’t see many doctors like that anymore. Best urgent clinic I have been in years definitely recommend!

New to Burbank and needed to see a doctor. Walked in and it was immaculate and decor was right out of an Ikea catalog. Literally, they got everything at Ikea. Didn't wait long at all and got through assessment quickly. They rotate doctors and I struck gold with Dr. Lawerence. Felt like he had been my doctor for years. He listened, gave sound advice, and made me feel valued. What a great experience. Will definitely be back.

The interior was clean. The staff was polite and friendly. The doctor was knowledgeable and knew how to talk someone out of anxiety.

This is the most wonderful Urgent Care! I love it! It is clean, new, bright and everyone was helpful. It is in a new building near the McDonald's and the Grocery Outlet store on Olive and Verdugo. 1701 W. Verdugo - It has plenty of parking underneath the building. The parking is free. I was pleased that the wait wasn't long and the doctor was caring and really made sure I was well taken care of. My son and husband had been in a few days earlier and had a fantastic experience. They are all well and I am on my way to a full recovery. Definitely check this place out. I have met two doctors there and they are both fantastic. 5+ stars!

DON’T COME HERE!
I’ve been with my daughter to the “old” Rapid Urgent care but they have new owners now. Went there Friday 3/9/18 needing an X-ray for a wrist injury. They knew what the issue was. Waited about an hour, was put in a room and no one comes. I started looking around as I can smell cigarette smoke in the building. The door in the back is open and someone is smoking outside. He moved away from the door. He was not an employee there. I kept looking around where no one was to be found including the receptionist. Finally I find her after noticing the dark X-ray room and lack of staff. She said they couldn’t do X-rays but could give my daughter a prescription. I was livid! She didn’t need a prescription! I told her to tare up our intake papers and not to bill the insurance company and left. ALL urgent cares do X-rays and more! Shut this place down! A very unhappy potential patients mom. We won’t be coming back here ever again!

The old Rapid Care has closed and has new owners at the 1130 W Olive Address. Mend Urgent Care has moved to a Brand New State of the Art Facility just down the block at 1701 W Verdugo Ave. Mend Urgent Care is no longer at the 1130 Olive location.
