Restaurant Mille Fleurs reviews
21 Great experience for an upscale dinner. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about food and wine. Even the chef came to the table and engaged into friendly conversation - actively looking for feedback to learn and to improve.
We enjoyed the dover sole, duck breast, and the hanger. It was cooked perfectly and the sides were paired perfectly. The wine recommendations were spot on as well.
Perfect. Old school intimate ambiance with outstanding food and great service. I can't say enough about the staff.
Had a very disappointing experience with Mille Fleurs. We were planning to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary with my 92 yrs old father by doing a takeout from Mille Fleurs. We called the day before to make sure they do a takeout on Saturday and the lady who answered the phone assured us that we can order on the day itself and the takeout will be ready in 30 mins. So, we planned our whole celebration around the Mille Fleurs takeout, really looking forward to it and as we were told, we called on Sat (the day). The lady answering the phone bluntly told us (after putting us on hold several times) that the kitchen was fully committed, and they can’t do anything. We were a little shocked and in disbelief, so we asked to speak to the manager. The manager told us that he checked with all his staff, but no one admitted to talking to us and that they all knew that they don’t do takeout on Sat, as if we were just making it up. We told him the exact time we called, so he should have easily been able to find out who it was that answered the phone on Fri. This special occasion, which our whole family was looking forward to was completely ruined, but what was more upsetting was the fact that one of their staff members was lying. If the staff member had just admitted that they she made a mistake, we could have taken that, but to not admit and lie, is unethical and shows the quality of training and the trust between management and staff. This is certainly not expected from a high-end and well reputed restaurant like Mille Fleurs (if we were lied so easily, who knows what is going on in the kitchen). Hope no one has to go through this on their special occasion again.
Been a long time and we were so pleased with our experience at Mille Fleurs. We were made very welcome from the start at host stand and by all of the staff. So refreshing to have a professional wait staff! Cocktails were perfect- amazing
Bobby Burns! And wine choice for us was a great choice.
Starters of carpaccio, oysters and smoked salmon were gobbled up by my 2 large sons!
Entree were all excellent especially the duck and steak frites!
We will not wait so long to return! Best in North County for sure!
The restaurant has a nice ambience. The sommelier recommended a very good Sauvignon Blanc from Russian River that's light and dry. It went very well with our starters: lobster bisque, escargot and Caesar salad. For main course, two had sea bass and one had salmon, all excellent. It's a high-end restaurant and expect to pay top dollars but it's well worth it.
They charge $200.00 for no shows. $200! Make sure you show up because they’ll get you. You hold a reservation with your credit card but it doesn’t say the fee you will pay if you forget to cancel.
Phenomenal experience. The food was exquisite and the staff very professional. As if you're dining in France. We had the devilled eggs and escargot to start, lobster risotto and sea bass for mains, and creme brulee trio and profiteroles for dessert, all of which I would highly recommend. Many thanks to the staff and the chef for a wonderful evening.
This used to be a 5 star restaurant under Chef Martin. New Chefs thereafter would not deserve 1 star in our opinion.
We tried four times to correct our impression, but every time more disappointing.
Our visit last weekend was definitely our last one.
A to us totally unqualified waiter tried to serve a different wine than ordered.
This waiter was than so busy talking to guests at the neighbor table about his private matters in a voluminous voice that we had to discontinue our conversation. We had to try repeatedly to make him refill our glasses. Our starters have been served after a 45MIN wait and not even synchronically. 1 hour after finishing our starters we complained about our main courses still not being served. It took another 15MIN to finally serve the main courses. The two orders of WIENERSCHNITZEL were inedible and removed almost untouched. The order of SCALLOPS was oversalted (and I like salt), overcooked and on a cold plate most unattractive arranged. One Scallop was so highly overcooked (burned) that it stayed untouched.
The DOVER SOLE main dish was edible, but swimming in oil.
This so called waiter was not even able to control a here believed drunk male guest from a neighbor table who was moving over to our table and bothering one of our Lady Friends.
We left the premises greatly embarrassed.
Slow service, drinks we ordered didn't show up on table at all, food can be found better at any regular 1 star restaurant and the place its way way expensive.
Worse restaurant and worse food
Worse service!
There is a new restaurant in Rancho Santa Fe I went to it’s call Goli
Perfect perfect
I love the food and service
Excellent service & better food. Extensive wine list, ambiance superb we ate on the patio…. Loved it…will be back!
Perfect for date night. The patio with the bistro lights is a lovely setting. Dinner was perfect. Wine was amazing. Doug Delancey made the best recommendations and provided exceptional service.
I give 2 star just because of the service and ambiance, food was mediocre for sure, not happy at all. None of the dishes seemed fresh and or over cooked. Desert also mediocre! Come on! I’m baffled how people give five star!? May be their first time to an expensive restaurant!? We have paid $1400 for a dinner, so know what quality is, this wasn’t a high end cuisine, sorry!
I recently dined at Mille Fleurs. It is a cute restaurant on a charming street in Rancho Santa Fe. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to dine inside. They have an extensive wine list. I enjoyed a glass of Grand Cru champagne. As a starter, my friend and I ordered the deviled eggs. They were really good. A fresh radish on top was a nice touch. For our main course, we ordered the lobster risotto and steak frites. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous portion of lobster in the risotto. It was the best steak frites that I’ve had in San Diego. For dessert, we chose the crème brûlée trilogy. It was delicious! Our favorite was the banana crème brûlée. I almost forgot to mention their amazing freshly baked cake on a baguette and their homemade butter. It was so good that I had to stop myself from eating all of it so that I could enjoy the rest of the food that I ordered without being too full.
Absolutely impeccable service in a polished dining room or a cozy courtyard with warm lights and a fountain. A diverse wine list to please every possible pairing combination with a food menu that will only disappoint you because you can't try everything. Perfect for a special occasion or a business meeting, but don't wait for either of those to check this gem out.
Delicious cheese platter with drinks listening to Randy playing the piano and singing. A fun Friday or Saturday night.
A+, like your in Italy. High end, don't bring loud kids.
This is the Gem of San Diego.
Amazing hidden gem known only by locals. Not only food is absolutely delissssshhhh but also please try their house wine Cabernet you won’t regret it and the piano nights with lovely Randy is truly delightful.
A must go location in San Diego for true foodies and music lovers!
The dish is small! Amazing taste and perfect size. Very traditional environment, with a lot of ways to provide privacy for gathering of any size. Their service is very pleasant and professional. I hope they open for Sunday brunch.
Delicious food and excellent service. The restaurant is very big with lots of different areas including some outdoor seating. There is a bar that had some live piano playing when we were there on a Saturday. Wide range of French influenced food and very good wine list. The sommelier is very knowledgeable and entertaining. Had a great night.would definitely go back.
