Okay it's clean. Like what a mitsuwa should be, but darn it. It's tiniest one that I ever went to

Incredible selection of Asian groceries for many Asian cultures. Busy little separate shops inside also, like the spacious open restaurant in the back. I was looking for live crabs, which they didn't have, although they had an extensive selection of seafood.

I live in Irvine for more than 6 years and have be a regular customer of this Mitsuwa. I had always had a good impression about the place. The market is very clean and the snacks are super cute. However, I was shocked today when the cashier (Pearline) rolled her eyes at me and smashed my product on the counter simply because I changed my mind on a bag of candy. What an attitude! The candy was hang on the side of the shelf in a set of five. I thought these bags are sold separately and took one of them. The cashier was very unhappy initially when she saw that I took only one and blamed me for not taking the set. She immediately asked the other cashier to take the whole set to me without asking whether I needed the whole set. Then when I told her I did not want a whole set of candy, she rolled her eyes at me and smashed the cookie on the counter in front of me. My friend and I were so shocked! If she told me nicely that I had to take the whole set because I already took one, I can understand that and would pay for it. I was so upset about her attitude that I spoke to her manager. She was then brought by her manager, reluctantly. She kept telling me that she already apologized but I did not hear 'l am sorry' the whole time. Eventually she said that she apologized for what she had done but her attitude didn't seem sorry at all. I am so disappointed with this Mitsuwa and would not recommend to any of my friends who live here. After all, this is not the only mitsuwa in Irvine.

It's a Mitsuwa! Just a smaller version, but has the essentials for a neighborhood market. The produce seemed up to date and fresh. Though small, all the aisles seemed to have just what you need for day to day needs.
This one still has the signature side stores inside, a beauty shop, chocolatier, donut bakery, and lunch restaurant serving ramen and the usual japanese dishes.

One of the smaller locations but still had what I was looking for. Food area has 3 shops in it, one of them is a mochi Donut place that is fantastic.

It's convenient to not have to go down to Costa Mesa everytime although they have more variety a better bakery and food court. However, Irvine does offer a decent selection of produce, seafood, meats, noodles, and etc.

Great quality meat but so limited on quantity. Run out of almost all the meat by 5pm. Best pricing for decent Dassai sake 45/39/23

The ramen and the rice was fantastic! Santouka was the place inside the marketplace that i ate from and it serves excellent food! Although its cash only! The ramen is slightly salty yet it fitted my taste completely! It is perfect for someone who would love a simple food that fills your belly entirely. ️

It's a good place to get Japanese itemd but doesn't seem to have as many options as the Costa Mesa store.

This place parking situation is two thumbs down. We are in Irvine people, this is not La. I don’t understand they’re set up

What a disappointment, I went there to buy couple items, walked out with nothing, since they had nothing I wanted, and the prices were more expensive than 99 ranch, so that's where I went to.

This store is easy to see when driving near by, store look neat inside, clean, staffs are friendly and helpful when you needed them and the most important is wheel chair can access to in and out the store plus free parking too. Hope this will help you something.

Perfect for when you don't feel like heading over to Costa Mesa. Selection is not too limited. Shopping is pretty cramped and tight on space. Would be great if they had the opportunity to expand their footprint. I do appreciate the food court.

Love the ramen! Only 4 stars because it's a bit pricey and the sitting set up is a little hectic.

Store seemed cluttered and hard to get down some aisles. Doesn't carry all the things that the Costa Mesa location has, so they didn't have what I needed.

You have a f**king note saying “Don’t open the box”, which is fine, but it is in Chinese ONLY. It’s f**cking racist. This is USA not Japan. You CANNOT do that.

Great for scratching that Japanese food itch at home and when you don't want to dine out. Plenty of nice ready made food during the day but they run out of the best options quickly during the after-hours rush, with ppl picking up food on their way home. The ramen colocated in the building though is one of the best in town despite being in a grocery store.

Insider tip: go inside for the green tea soft swirl which is legit the most delicious dessert ever! (They hide graham crackers on the bottom and it is pure heaven.) I take my friends here for this treat all the time

The supermarket itself is relatively small but has what I am looking for. I love the packaged 1/2 cabbages. I cook for 1 so definitely love smaller serving/package of many products. Many prepared good, sushi and Benton boxes. All very tasty. Now, the food court part of this market are fantastic too. All three restaurants are good. I love the ramen place the most. I like the okonomiaky but it's not as good as the ones I used to have in San Francisco J town.

Good selection of Japanese ingredients. Fairly expensive compared to other Asian markets in the area. Good selection of short grain rice. Made-in-store sushi (tekkamaki is the best) rivals good restaurant sushi. Tonkotsu/miso ramen in the food court is is amazing-its probably why most people come here.
