New Brighton State Beach reviews
26Beautiful beach clean: but stairs from campsite to the beach is horrible, 3 years construction and same hopefully who read this and have power can change something!
Nice campground but paid online before arriving and was treated really poorly by the woman checking campsites.told we would be fined.for not getting a sticker at first light.really rude staff.drunk rednecks.wont be back.
Great campground and beach with plenty to do. Camping, Hiking trails, Beach, Sea glass hunting and more. Close to town if you need supplies.
New Brighton State Beach is an awesome place to go for a walk along the beach with a dog or a human friend. There is camping available, but make sure you make your arrangements beforehand. Sometimes I see people surf fishing here, but I don't know how successful they are.
When the swell is just right, you will see surfers surfing here. Also, some people paddle board over from Capitola by the sea. Furthermore, you can walk at the base of the cliffs from Capitola by the Sea during a low tide.
A few years ago, there was an abundance of little fish (possibly sardines) that brought in dolphin, whales, and I even saw orcas. There were so many birds feasting on the fish I could hear their cries of joy from the top of the cliff-it was an amazing time! You never know what you will find.
I find the best time for solitude is around sunrise (and taking pics, too). When, I came here last week, the day use parking lot was not available because it was being refurbished. There is parking on the street, but be careful, I accidentally brushed some poison oak walking down the hill into the park last time.
Great campsite with convenient, plentiful and well maintained facilities. Beautiful beach access down a medium grade incline of steps with restrooms at the beach.
Excellent camping, walking distance from the beach, site aik so saat zabardast hai maazoor wali, the only one issue was the garbage truck that showed up and started making very loud noises at 7 AM
Definitely not my favorite beach in the area although they did have parking on a busy day. Too much seaweed on the beach and too much trash. It was a shark sighting that day though pretty cool
Right along the cliffs, the sound of the waves lulls me to sleep. The bike-in campsite has room for several travellers. There is a bmx & a skate park farther down the road. New Brighton is the first part of the beach that extends continuously down the entire bay. Reservations for car campers can be full even 6 months ahead, but it's worth it!
Nice state park campground in foggy Aptos. RV friendly, they have a 2 lane dump station with 2 dumps each. Friendly rangers, too.
This is my favorite state park on the ocean. It seems that you have to reserve far in advance now to get a camping spot but worth the investment and planning.they have a nice Camp store but you have to go into the camping area to find it and since I mostly go for day use I feel like I'm violating the signs when I go
Good place. Just do not go too deep. I've heard there could be sharks there. Have not seen myself though. Clean beach, less people than on Capitola.
No more beach bonfires. (Legally anyway)
That's the whole reason for coming. Your gubbamint at work banning anything worthwhile.
Love this place, if it's a fishing day or just a day with my son playing in the water this is my go to spot
You have to put money in a slot to take a shower. I am surprised that you don't have to put money in a slot to take a walk.
Beautiful and clean beach in Santa Cruz county. $10.00 all day parking, also have an on-site campground. Very cool
Beautiful campground near amazing wildlife viewing areas, Monterrey, Pebble Beach, Santa Cruz, and more
Great campground. We could hear the waves at night and had a deer visit each night. Best of both worlds!
We come here every summer. Wonderful family camp ground and beach. Love the fire pits on the beach.
Great beach spot. Public restrooms. Very accessible. Parking fills up quickly, though. Head to the beach further south if there isn't any parking.
Way too much red and yellow leaf in Summer, poison oak!
Go South to Sunset beach.
And buy more Tecnu soap.
This is the 1 State Beach campground you SHOULD AVOID. Unless you're part of the 20% immune to the 2wk painful ugly debilitating rash of POISON OAK.
Very nice free walk in from N.suburb side street with nice wood staircase down to nice beach.
