New Brighton State Beach is right below New Brighton State Park, so it is a very easy walk and you are on a great beach. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy an afternoon watching waves and you might even see some whales. Just don’t forget your sunscreen; the summer sun gets very intense.

Nice for doggies. Get there fairly early because it gets crowded. We left when someone started setting up a volleyball net close to us, around 4 pm.

Nice campground. Very serene. Plentiful bathrooms. Friendly staff. Only complaint is that there is a generous amount of seaweed on the beach. What's cool is that the campground is on a bluff overlooking the ocean. Great views. There's a trail when you can walk down to the beach. Very convenient.

Great beach, but some people may have troubles walking to the beach area due to some erosion control work they have going on. The original access walkway is gone and the entire affected section is covered in plastic sheeting.

Love this beach we come here a few times a year great for catching whales in the distance (bring some binoculars) and recently there have been great white sharks as close as 15 feet off the shore (so play in the water at your own risk) last shark sighting were in july and August 2018.

Please clean / get good lights for the bathrooms near campsite 61 because you could barely see and they were smelly and gross. Bye the way a the picture on the bottom was a picture I took on HDR pro in the bathroom when the lights were flickering and yes it does actually get this dark
