It's a nice place to visit but it would be better if homeless people would not be there lying around and looking through garbage cans. They just make you turn around and leave. It's sad that these people are aloud to make themselves comfortable at such a nice and and beautiful historic place.

We had a wonderful time at The Original House of Soul. Nice atmosphere, great service and tasty food for the soul.

I enjoyed myself a lot. Even with some of the restaurants and activities being limited because of Covid. Can't wait to experience the place when it's fully open.

Close to my house and a good old looking place, whenever I pass by or I go there it reminds me of how people used to live, shop and some good antique shops.

Old Sacramento has some interesting museums and places to eat. At least one comedy club. The boardwalk along the Sacramento River was recently redone. Definitely ADA accessible. Within walking distance to the new DOCO gathering area around the Golden 1 Arena. Quite a bit of parking but on event nights, especially during the Christmas season, parking garages may require booking a reservation. Some metered on-street parking available.

Just a really cool place. Takes you back to the turn of the century and is well preserved. It's not very big, but it's worth a visit. Great food and candy shops and an amazing costume store that has to be seen to be believed.

Lost two stars since Sac RT cancelled the bus stop to Old Town that was at a stop sign that's still there. Their given reason, "Because we want to" Old Town's administration didn't care either even when I explained it cut off access to the majority of us with disabilities and no other transportation. The bus stops at Amtrak leaving us to traverse a large often dark parking lot where people in wheelchairs or bent over walkers can't be seen. I tried it once but the lot is always nearly full and I was almost hit by the city bus because he couldn't see me for the shadows. I stopped going for more than 10 years Now I live a few blocks away so can enjoy Old Town once more but most disabled in our community can not. FYI, I do use an electric wheelchair but: 1. The battery lasts only so long and the rougher the surface causing drag on the wheels the faster the battery depletes; Old Town is rustic wooden sidewalks and cobblestone streets. Lovely yet a literal drag. 2. No matter the disability or mobility assistance device, we who rely on them also have just so much of our human physical battery and use up too much just trying to get into Old Town. Buses are the only public transportation to accomodate electric wheelchairs and while Uber and Lyft can manage manual chairs walkers canes etc, it also eats into our small income. Without RT bringing back the Old Town bus stop at the stop sign next to the Railroad museum, the majority of disabled folks will arrive with no money to buy even an ice cream. If they dare traverse the risky parking lot may be maimed for their effort or literally die trying or arrive alive but too worn out to enjoy themselves. It truly does hurt to know that no one cares to make it right again.

It is a cute place but it's a little too touristy and I would not recommend eating there unless you're going to eat some fish and chips. Visit the giftshops like Evangeline costume shop (don't forget to check out the upper levels. Love trying on their wig selections) and also stop by the candy shops. One of them have 5 candy for free.

This tiny little section of Sacramento is really a lot of fun.the buildings are quite a revelation and a slice of California history.interesting and beautiful- and there's enough crazy stuff to enjoy yourself and shop a bit.
The famous soccer store actually has really well made socks don't laugh and also the delightful Evangelines has two stories of costumes above the toy junk store which I always loved - didn't really know how much they had on the two top floors.you have to go there before Halloween.you just have to.

On the Sacramento River's and developed during the Gold Rush, Cold Sac is one the oldest preserved areas in California, with unique restaurants, bars, shops, and of course the railroad museum!
A good tourist spot for folks visiting Sacramento.

It's ok if you have time to kill driving around trying to find a parking space.then paying a ton of $$ for some time in the meter (if you actually find a spot). Don't let your time run out cause the meter maid is constantly on patrol.

The Sacramento train center attendant qas very informed about parking. Old historic Sacramento has parking meters with 2 hour parking. Thank goodness for change machines.

Lots of fun things to do there. Old time pictures. Great costume shop. Cartoon portrait drawer. Great shoo with dragons and fairies. And the paddle boat had great food

Incredible location to see a spot of history from the old west. My jaw dropped when I first saw it. I did not know places like this still exist. We had a blast.

A fun way to spend time viewing blocks of old brick buildings, wooden sidewalks, like as it was in Old West times. A lot of tee shirt, ice cream shops, Western apparel, restaurants. Fun for all ages. The waterfront is fun to watch paddle boats go in and out also.

Can only put 2hours in parking meter. It is not clearly marked when meters expire. I paid as long as it would let me (915pm) thought that should more than enough to go past when they turn the meters off. I was in a dinner theater. It last 2hours and 10minutes. Came out and there was a ticket $42.10 for 10minutes over. Way to go old Sac thats a good way to make sure a long time visitor never comes back. Way to treat you source of income. There is a reason we live in the country.
