Price Self Storage, San Diego CA

I know there are homeless people in that area, but I didn't think they would be allowed to actually wander around the actual storage property. And in such numbers, they were everywhere!

What's even worse is that the janitor and other staff seems to think nothing of them being there and doing nothing to make them leave. This place costs way to much money to begin with, and for them to just let homeless people rummage around looking for something to steal is just not worth it. I can find better security for half the price.

Reserved a specific unit - as a repeat customer - in person on a Thursday. Reconfirmed that unit on by phone on Friday. Was assured the unit was reserved under my name. Arrived on Monday to claim unit - "sorry, it's not available. " Was told that they switched me to another unit, on the second floor. Saw that unit - small, cramped, not suitable. Eventually was offered another unit on the third floor - not ideal, since the elevator does not work that well. But, the price was reasonable. The saga continues, however,

The large building where I was relocated is next to a very busy marijuana dispensary. Lots and lots of traffic - very congested, and who knows how many drivers are already high. Lots of sketchy characters handing around. Noticed one pickup truck parked near the doorway to our building - it was pretty evident that these people were living in, or out of, the truck. Went to my unit on the third floor - and a toddler in a poopy diaper comes around and walks into my unit. I hear a mother call for her toddler - around the corner, the door is open.and the mother and her toddler obviously are living in the unit.

I was then told that "there are a lot of homeless" here, and that "it was really bad a year ago, but we have cleaned it up a lot. " Well, a year ago was the time frame when I first rented from them (I only use the units in the summer months). I did notice that year, that down the hall from my old unit, two sketchy characters (fancy cars, cell phones, brown paper bags) obviously were conduction their "business" from the unit - 3 guess what that "business" was, and your first two guesses don't count.

Granted, the place looks nice, appears clean, and mostly you see students (and their parents) moving their possessions into storage, after the Spring semesters end. And the employees and the manager are SUPER nice and SUPER helpful. But - you need to rent with eyes wide open. You may find homelessness, squatters, illegal activities, and other matters. Not all that surprising for a large storage facility, I suppose. I'll go ahead with my rental this year - because as noted, the place pretty much is spotlessly clean, and the employees are terrific. They also have good prices on boxes, packing tape, etc. Just beware that, in this location, there are some questionable activities in and around the premises.

I really don't care about a storage unit. Its a room with a lock. However, with this virus thing going around, I really don't feel safe in these units with a bunch of homeless people living in them. Shouldn't the Health Department have a say or play a part in making this place safe? Dying from a virus shouldn't have to be something I need to think about when renting a storage unit.

Also, am I going to need to wash down and disinfect all my stuff now when I take it out of storage? I just want a place to store my stuff man!

Complete SCAM! First Month Is NOT FREE! You will be required to pay $22 in administrative costs, $14 Protective Plan, and $14 Lock Rental. In short, they are charging you $22 for nothing. You have to book your own storage unit online with your own credit card information, and all they do is hand you a proprietary lock you have to pay $14/month for that the storage unit company across the street includes for free in their monthly rates.

As for the $14 protective plan, almost all credit card companies include rental insurance when you use them to rent property, and drivers insurance when you use them to rent cars. AMEX covers up to $100K for no additional cost while Price charges $14 for $5k of coverage. The Renters insurance is just a scam they are using to cheat you out of you money. Price Self Storage is a Rip Off!

These guys rock! They are the only storage in Pacific Beach that could accommodate a Pack Rat container. Their "free first month" promotion allowed me to move out of the container and into a storage unit much bigger than I needed to be able to sort through everything to determine what should go to my new apartment and what should stay in storage. Now I have a "walk in hall closet" at storage for all of the items I need, but don't have room for in my tiny beach apartment. My move has been SO much easier because of them! I never thought I'd say this about a storage unit, but I love this place!

I was impressed by the treatment on signing up. The staff took the time to explain the rules and then walked me to the unit to show the location as well as the shortest most efficient route to my unit.

The facility is clean and feels secure.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful during checking, even though I arrived just before closing.

Staff that I have interacted with since my checkin have all been friendly and helpful.

Close by to the Pacific Beach area, Price Self Storage has several units available. Accessing the facility can be tricky during rush hour as it is right where people are jumping on the freeway. I do wish there hours were a little better as they close pretty early. They offer dollies that you can use which is very helpful if you don't have an easily accessible unit.

Signing up and moving in is pretty simple and the offer great email communication to help you stay on top of your move.

Mercedes gave me one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. She was communicative over the phone and email the whole entire process getting me into the right unit for me. She was friendly, fun, exciting to talk to and overall a nice person. Great job! Thanks you.

I adore the professional and patient team at Price Self Storage in PB! Jose, Mercedes and Michaela are the best! Life has been a bit of a challenge for me (part of why I have storage) and they make me forget all about that (or if I'm dealing with not-so-great things, help me get through it all with grace and dignity). They are gracious, always smiling and make it a pleasure to go to my storage unit. And they handle any issues quickly and pleasantly. I always leave feeling uplifted and with a smile on my face. Who can say that about storage? I can! Lol.

Extra special thank you to Jose for taking such great care of me on my move in day and, in general, going above and beyond. I come from a property management background and it is a pleasure to be rest assured about this facility, knowing that it is well taken care of and any issues and maintenance items will be dealt with promptly and done right.

Jose, Mercedes, Mikaela are FABULOUS with customer service! Ask them every question & they will have the answer quickly! They are patient, courteous and professional. They really want to make your stay a happy one. CHECK IT OUT!

Ok storage company. The staff is great professional. The units tend to get really hot during daylight savings. No air-condition in units. No ventialtion really at all. Little parking. The road between buildings is kind of tight. Easy to notice building off of the freeway. 1 bathroom for entire place. Nothing special at this place

Couldn’t have been better. Ashley (Manager) called about my online reservation as I was pulling up. The rate was exactly as shown, no tricks or gotchas. I got a new lock, signed a lease and was out filling up my new unit in no time. Shout of for the great professional customer service!

Staff is good, but terrible hours of operation and accessibility. Because the entire neighborhood is overrun with homeless people they limit the hours you can access your unit. If you work a 8-5 job it's almost impossible to get here at night before they close. Also not safe for a single woman to visit here after dark. Think twice about renting here if you want to access your unit during the weekdays.

Prepare to have your rent raised at least 2 x a year. They hook you with the free month, knowing the cost of moving outweighs the raise in price. Sure they will give you a moving truck and driver to get your stuff there for free. They legally (?) screw you. Did they tell you upfront that your rates would just go up and up? Nope. So what if the staff is friendly? That's their job.

I can't say enough great things about the team at the PB Price Storage. I've rented there for 4 months now and have had experience with many other storage facilities in the area. I'm beyond relieved to have landed here, so as I don't have to continue my search for a satisfactory facility. The entire property is constantly spotless and throughout the months of visiting my unit, the consistent friendliness of the staff has made me feel more than welcome and comfortable. Ashley, Jayla, and Channel have been the team members that I see continuously and have become familiar with. Notably, when I first encountered them during the process of searching for the right unit, it was their thoroughness and professional approach that caused me to settle with them as a safe location for my belongings. There is no doubt that they are the best around.

Kinda expensive but ive had the storage unit for along time now so no real complaints. Plus i get a view with my unit so that's cool
