Salon Ink, San Diego CA

My boyfriend has gotten his haircut 2x already by Karen. She always takes great care of him and he comes out of there looking great and feeling refreshed. I 100% recommend her for Men's cuts.

The commentary below was from my YELP review about 7 months ago and since then I've seen her twice more:

I want to preface this review by saying that I normally don't go to salons due to the service I normally receive. Whether it's a lack of customer service, or just not listening to what I want and not taking my feelings into consideration.

The culture of Salon Ink was very welcoming and they definitely took the proper precautions with COVID. As soon as I got in, I was greeted, my temperature was taken, and I was given hand sanitizer. I then went back with Karen, who offered me a drink right away and wanted to know what I wanted. She made sure to ask about all the details of what I wanted and what my main concerns about my hair were. She also helped me find a product that smelled great and felt nice on my head during the shampoo process. Speaking of the shampoo process, Karen definitely has magic hands. I almost fell asleep when she was shampooing my hair!

She gave me realistic expectations and took me step by step on what she was going to do before she did it. Before she even made the first cut, she made sure to ask the length I was okay with and never once went past that.

It was honestly pretty hard to look away at her cutting my hair, she was so concentrated and worked pretty efficiently that you could tell it was muscle memory at this point. Seriously an artist at work.

Thank you Karen and Salon Ink for the incredible experience. I will 100% refer friends and family and will 100% be coming back.

Karen gave me a horrible Bob haircut and now I need to spend alot of money to correct her cut. I will not be back to Salon Ink

This salon is by far the best salon in San Diego. From the front end service to the stylist, shampoo person and the owner. Everyone was 100% on top of their game. I felt pampered and listened to. Very cheerful relaxing environment. My experience was thousand times better than I could have dreamed up. For color I highly recommend Linda she is a true talent.

Love this salon and I love my hairdresser Noel. They always make you feel welcomed. During check in you are offered a drink. Coffee, tea or wine. Reasonably priced services. Noel is amazing with both highlights and cuts. I have fine, thin hair and she has performed miracles with my hair! I highly recommend Salon Ink

Excellent protocols for covid, you don't even enter the door without a temp check. Plenty of distance between work stations. Great barber, Noel, has been cutting my hair for a long time. Rest of the staff is always very friendly and courteous.

Salon Ink has implemented all the safety measures post Covid. I had my temperature checked, disinfected my hands/cellphone and also put my purse in a plastic bag to avoid contamination. Apri was great as always, came out feeling renewed. Thank you for everything!

This is one of the best salons I've ever been to. I travel globally & often need see TLC for my hair. This salon has such deep knowledge, expertise & the staff are really fantastic. Trust & you won't be disappointed.

Salon Ink provided me excellent service from the time I entered, all the way through. Karen was not only kind and interesting to talk to, but she did exactly what I asked for. At other salons I have walked away not loving my cut because they went too short or didn't really listen to what I wanted, but I trusted Salon Ink with my hair and they did not disappoint. Most definitely coming back in the future.

Noel has been doing my hair for about a year now; every time I come in for a haircut or for highlights she kills it every single time. Such a talented kind soul, highly recommend Noel for any color or hair cutting service!

Apri was fantastic! She is everything I have been looking for in a curly hair expert. Very knowledgeable, caring, and got my hair to come back to life.

I booked a last minute hair appointment via phone on Friday. From that moment, I was wowed by salon ink. My phone was acting funny so it kept dropping the calls. The receptionist texted me instead to book my appointment. She set me up with Jessica P on Saturday. When I arrived, I was greeted by the whole salon. I received a complimentary drink and was escorted by Jessica P to her work station. We talked a bit about what look I wanted to achieve and she made sure she knew what I wanted before she got started. She was very easy to talk to throughout a three hour appointment. She gave me an amazing head/neck/shoulder massage after she washed my hair! She styled my hair and showed me the final result, the exact color I wanted! I highly highly recommend coming to salon ink and especially Jessica P. You will not regret it:)

First of thanks so much to Elaine for making my hair appt experience one the most enjoyable moments from start to finish. She completely understood what I was asking for and helped me set a plan for my hair goals. Getting married at the end of the year so I wanted to start the process of getting my hair ready by then and at max health.

Already booked my next appt and a s excited for it!

Isaiah is the best! Got a great haircut and took the plunge with a 70’s fringe and it looks great. He plays it safe and listens. So when YOU decide to go beaver he takes it there and it’s always amazing! I’m so happy:)

Salon Ink is amazing! Both times I've gone here I've been super impressed by my haircut, the price, and the perks, which include a complimentary drink, a nice head and neck massage while they wash your hair, and a styling after the cut. Really a lovely place.

I booked an appointment for a haircut and treatment and got in the same day. I have been looking for a new stylist since I moved to San Diego and have found the one. Blanca is amazing and the kindest soul. Also, you can’t beat her amazing haircuts!

Have been going to Liz (owner) for years. Have tried 4 other stylists and never a problem. Very friendly atmosphere, accommodating. Individual attention.

I've been going to Rodrigo Matias for the last 3 years and he is amazing! He has a great understanding of my needs when it comes to my personal hairstyle (chic and low maintenance). I'm definitely sad to be leaving San Diego, but know I will definitely try to squeeze in an appointment when in town.

As for Salon Ink as a whole, the staff is friendly, they are great with follow-ups, and the establishment is always clean.

Jess is AMAZING! She has been the woman I've entrusted with my blonde for years and she never disappoints!
