SushiStop Sawtelle North reviews
33Order was super late, asks to wait 5 more minutes, I wait, come back to find they gave my order to someone else. Full order needs to be done again. What a cluster.
The food is good. But the portions are small. This meal (sans the baked salmon roll I ate, and seaweed salad they forgot) was around $55.00 on Uber Eats.
Underwhelmed by the value of this place and thought the costumer service was mediocre.
I don't mind showing up 30,45,60 minutes to pick up my food - I'll show up whenever they tell me to show up. What I mind is that they tell you to show up at 7pm and the food is not ready until 7: 30pm so you're just waiting outside for no good reason. Happened to me twice, writing a review to remind myself not to come again to this location.
Was waiting in line for a while, once the hostess saw me she took her time with doing her things. After another customer came in behind me, she attended them first. Maybe Hispanic aren't welcomed here? 1 star.
Update: The Pho at the Vietnamese Restaurant next door was probably better than what they would have served me. Highly recommended.
Warning: This place has terrible wait times and order issues during covid.
I hate to give this place one star because it’s a good place for decent and cheap sushi, but they unfortunately have not prepared/adjusted properly for the current times. Expect a long wait even for pre-ordered items, and expect additional wait during busy times. Just go to Ralphs and get sushi there.
Horrible service. Ordered via door dash, waited an hour, driver arrives and sushi stop can't even find the Order. Employee answering the phone says it might have been lost between their north and south locations. I asked to speak to a manager, the Employee says they are not around right now and then hangs up. Very unprofessional, this is not the sushi stop that I remember and I won't be back.
The place is clean, friendly staff, good service, good food, not too expensive, and I HIGHLY recommend coming here!
Sushi Stop made its name by offering subpar sushi but at affordable prices. It had been a couple years since we last visited so we decided to stop by today to enjoy some collegiate nostalgia. Except for the name, the menu looked slightly different but the waitress assured us they hadn’t changed. Well, she was right that Sushi Stop still serves subpar sushi but now they charge premium prices! We used to eat here, two people for $25-35 dollars including tax and a generous gratuity. Today, for same amount of subpar sushi, we ended up coughing up $84. $84 for two people for the same exact subpar sushi they’ve served for years. We felt angry and robbed. We could have had premium sushi, premium steak, or premium dinner in much nicer digs for the same price. We used to like this place but I’m afraid this will be our last visit. If we’re going to pay that much for a meal, the meal better be worth it.
Just like the other sushi stops, great good at great price. But no parking and the lines can get very long
It's our favorite sushi bar in LA area. Extremely capable chef's and friendly staff. Only issue is rising prices to fast in the past.
The staff are very nice and friendly. That's one of the important things I look for in a restaurant.
However, they are kind of slow. I had to follow-up on my other orders.
I wish I could give this place a negative! Terrible service, what a joke. Not only were these servers rude, one in particular crumbled the receipt and threw it at my friend. Don't visit this Sushi Stop unless you want to get harassed!
Worst service. We sat there and waited for food like forever, and ironically the waiter came and asked us how everything is going.
Great food and great price but the quality of the ingredients is questionable. One order of Eel rolls ordered once had several bones in it. Have to wonder whether they failed to de-bone the eel, or the fish monger they buy from made that mistake. Either way, the food tastes good but may not be grade A
I absolutely love sushi stop, it’s affordable sushi and it tastes delicious. It can get pretty busy so make sure you are there early. It is also cash only, so be prepared.
The wait can get ridiculous but the food is yummy. I like to save money while dinning out so I fill up on water, edamame and just order one sierred salmon roll or a teriyaki bowl. I like the bar seats and can manage to bring my toddler in the small space.
Ideal for a quick bite with courteous service. Don't mind the loudness of whatever music be playing, the sushi Cheifs at work was unlike any other, precise and always square in the face.
Amazing sushi. Just a little sad they don't serve Sake.
Incredible food and really cheap. Absolutely make a trip here.
Remember your eyes are bigger than your stomach. Order as you go unless you are sharing small plates with plus one. After three rolls, I’m pretty stuffed.
One of my favorite places to eat quality sushi with an inexpensive bill at the end. Service is polite and fast. Great for a quick lunch or a relaxing dinner with a friend.
