Absolutely the worst care ever. First they gave the wrong treatment to my child. Than nurses gossiping about some nurse who took meds. Charts on people came up missing. Very poor service.

My grandma has cancer in the brain and due to that cannot see and does not speak English the nurses did not come when she was in pain and my mom had to call the hospital to get the nurse there I will never let my family ever go there again.

I came in on a Sunday early morning 1am and was checked in and out within an hour and half, staff and doctors were very nice and attentive with me. Even with the pandemic the facility was quick to response and the facility was clean and I felt safe to come in and be treated.

Great hospital

Having baby here and it seems the staff care more about socializing, lunches and other miniscule things than the patients. 2 hours for blood work, over an hour to clean a room and any time they would tell us to wait (for anything) at least 3 nurses would go to the hall and talk about television. Extremely unprofessional

I came in when I was feeling extremely unwell. I felt like I was gonna past out and I couldn't even have a family member with me. I waited over 5 hours for my results Im thankful I was able to get better ON MY OWN! Extremely expensive bill for terrible service. Absolutely horrible.

Staff all lack basic empathy, ask repetitive questions and are rushing as if I’m just a job and not a human being. A nurse left me in a room with my blood pressure cuff and pulse monitor on before it was even finished and didn’t return to ever remove it. The doctor who I finally saw asked extremely repetitive questions that he should have answers to. Lastly when they draw blood the nurse not only makes it the most painful and rude experience ever but also misses the entry point when applying the bandage.

Whatever staff was on July 31st in the evening are horrible horrible people the most inconsiderate rude group of Staff in the emergency room ie ever seen in my entire life.
Hardly did my sister-in-law feel like a person with the way that they treated her. Every symptom that she has on your discharge papers from a different hospital yesterday tell her to go to the hospital to seek treatment right away and this medical team did nothing but make her want to leave with all the uncaring no compassion could care less if she was in there hurting or not.

This ER has been used for follow-up orthopedic surgeries over the past few years and they're great. Fast, professional and getting kind of used to my showing up with one joint problem or another. They've filled in when my orthopedic surgeon wasn't available and haven't complained ONCE. It doesn't get much better than that. Thanks to the ER crew. Some of them even have a sense of humor.

The pediatric emergency room was absolutely filthy. This is a public health issue. I raised how concerning the condition of the waiting room and room we were put in with our 3 day old infant. I will do everything I can to avoid this facility.

Furthermore, a tech went to administer a blood sugar poke without wearing gloves. I stopped him to ask him to put some on.

To the facility, you should not act like this is ok or normal. The nurses and doctors acted like this is just how it is. No. Do better. This is very alarming and this review will not be the end of my raising the alarm.

Absolutely the worst service you can imagine
It appears this place is missed managed, and I doubt that there is a lack of funds here, by how many people are left waiting for hrs, in dirty chairs, this place simply need to do a better job Not even one Clorox wipe in the er or probably the whole hospital, and just a few staff members, its 12am and seirra is having chest pain she says level 9 and cant breath, you would think this is serious, not to Sutter er staff its 4am 2nd she is calling me saying she is still waiting and all they did was give her motrin, hrs have gone by and she is desperately seeking help, so I call the er asking what's going on and they say she is fine, they gave her some Motrin and that's it, I told him that I am a paying customer and I'm requesting them to do more to figure out what's going on, he said you're not paying for it you're insurances is, this is the Exactly what that's the problem is, I recorded the whole conversation and I later be posting it might even send it to the news, truly appalled at the level of disrespect from staff in the emergency Department. He Ask me if I went to medical school and she is fine

My wife is sick and i brought her to ER. The doctor saw her within 20 minutes. But, the front disk medical assstant is very rude and disrespectful. She keep us waiting 4 hours for only giving us dicharge papers and while i asked her how many more hours it takes? She said go and sit. I dont know why she behaves so badly. Now i dont know how long i have to wait to get only discharge papers.

As far as an ER goes this is a great ER. You can expect waiting when you go to an ER. Normally you wait between each step, as expected. Two weeks ago I went in for severe back pain. From the time I got there to the time I left it had been 4 hours, and everyone was kind and helpful. I've been there before though when it wasn't that pleasant. But with that said, I've been to UC Davis ER and waited for over 12 hours and wasn't seen, I just left. At the time I was vomiting blood along with other problems, but they must not be very important symptoms, so I went home. I've never had to wait that long at Sutter ER, and when you're seen at Sutter all the notes and results are easily available to your Sutter PCP if you're a Sutter patient. Not that this is an excuse, but the ER staff puts up with a lot of rude, and mean people all day and night. Even though they try, they cannot possibly be pleasant all the time. Could you? I choose to show them the compassion that is expected out of them. Although when you're in really severe pain it's easy to forget. I tend to get snippy easily. As far as ERs go, it's a pretty damn good one.

This is the third time this has happened to our family. The urgent care in Elk Grove won’t help you and sends you to Sutter General. Tonight I was told had to go to Sutter General. Walking in to Sutter General I was hit with a homeless guys shopping cart. Entered was told to give my name and have a seat. I looked at the room seats filled and left people standing room only.
I spent last Christmas Eve in the Sutter General ER they shipped my husband off from Urgent Care in Elk Grove. Then in January again for another problem got called to take my husband again to Sutter General.
Sutter General ER is the worst! No compassion, you’re a number nothing else. And I even have Health Insurance PPO. They get you checked in, you’ll sit and wait. You might get called back for the PA to review the issue then sent back to the waiting room. I watched for 2 hours never saw but one person hand over a form of payment. Then another person reviewed my insurance plan and asked for $150.00. At this point annoyed I said if I pay 150.00 when will I be seen. She said it depends on level of urgency. I ask about ball park 1-3 hours. She said there was 3 others ahead. I figured maybe within an hour and a half. After 2 hours I walked up to the lady who charged my credit card and said I was leaving wanted a credit. For 2 months I disputed charges to my insurance company and a bill they said I owed.
Tonight confirmed once again Sutter might have a few good doctors but their hospital is horrible and I will never go back! Oh and the urgent care in Elk Grove is will never go back.

I needed emergency medication and they got me in and out with a scrip in like an hour. That’s insanely quick. I’ve also come here for other things, and while the total time there was closer to 2-3 hours, that was reasonable as hell considering how many people were there that day.

Worst ER experience I have ever had. Almost had a stroke in the waiting room due to staff’s incompetence. I only went to this hospital because I didn’t think I could make it to Davis, which is far superior. When I checked in, the man checking people in was not paying attention and did not write down that I had extremely high blood pressure. I couldn’t sit or stand up straight and was watching people who looked perfectly fine get taken back ahead of me, over and over again. I approached the nurses and asked how long it would be and they said soon. They kept taking other people back and I finally got one of the nurses to take my bp. It was 213/126. She said “oh, your bp is really high. That’s weird, your intake doesn’t say that at all. ” Was taken back for tests and an X-ray and then left to sit in the waiting room for another 3 hours.

During this time the guy who checked me in came out and gave me some aspirin which fixed the problem (could have gone to a pharmacy for that and been in and out in half an hour and paid less than $5.). I finally got to see a doctor (for less than 10 minutes) and she gave me a prescription for the other issue I was having. Was there for a total of 7 hours. I get the bill and they are charging me over $600 plus doctors fee for that nonsense. They had gone back into the system and changed me to a level 5 emergency from whatever lower level they had me at and billed me for it even though I did not receive level 5 emergency treatment (you don’t leave a level 5 emergency in the waiting room that long!).

I filed an appeal with sutter which they rejected (of course because they want their money) so then I filed an appeal with my insurance company and am still waiting to hear back on it. Sutter has been sued in the past for price gouging and I am not surprised. I feel sorry for anyone who goes here and doesn’t have good insurance.

The Doctors and nurses are excellent. I can't give 5 stars because if they have a P. A.system they don't use it when calling names. A lot of people couldn't hear their names called when soft spoken people called out their names. The restroom should also have a speaker hooked up to a P. A.system so you can hear your name called if you're in there. I asked the security guard what happens if you're in the restroom and you don't hear your name called. He said, "They just move on to the next patient. " Thank God I have good hearing.
