The Mad Greek Cafe reviews
45A must-stop on the way to or from Vegas! A pork gyro and a fresh strawberry shake are the perfect pregame or cure for whichever side of Vegas you are on.
Don’t get the eggplant. Not sure why I thought that would be a good idea from a truck stop diner. Ended up getting sick and have long to pull over at the next rest rest stop. To be fair I also got the beef/lamb gyro so that could have been what made me sick but I’m betting on the eggplant. It tasted a little off/old so I didn’t finish it but what ever it was it was enough to derail my day. Def not eating here again.
Paid $15 for a sad, sad salad with barely any gyro meat on it. Went with a group of 6 and nobody liked what they got. The baba ganoush was absolutely terrible. Not even a picky eater but damn it was bad.:/
Love this place! The food is amazing and the service is excellent. Lots of Semi truck and RV parking nearby.
The food was good but not all it is hyped up to be. It was kind dirty inside, like it should be dusted. Plenty of seating inside and outside.
This place ia no good.very expensive. Staff very unfriendly, platic plates and forks. No decaf, no hashbrowns.looks old and dirty. The table wher all worn out and had yellow tape around thw broke. Ones.not good. Denny's right down the street. Should have gone there instead.
Some of the best Greek food I've had, fast or sitdown.
Very kitschy with the classical sculpture but what would one expect from a Greek restaurant.
They actually have a number of standard Greek recipes. I had a whole lamb gyro (which is uncommon, as the vertical rotisserie meet is usually a combination of beef and lamb or pork), and I love lamb, ergo, I loved it!
The service was fast enough. The prices are moderate, which is expected for quality food.
There are plenty of places to sit inside, which is helpful during the summer and winter months as the temperatures can be extreme.
So, on my way to Vegas and back - this may become a mandatory pit stop.
If you miss the stop at Baker Ca.to LV: not to worry, there's a location at State Line.
Nice spot to grab a meal after a long drive from Los Angeles. Great selection of food and desserts.
The restaurant seems to be a fast food bar, and it is to some extend, but the food is very good and for reasonable price.
LEGEND of a place! The food is just what the CHP ordered! Fresh, great service, spectacular food and a great break half way to Vegas from LA
Best selection of authentic, affordable Greek food under one roof. Crazy cool decor inside, definitely worth the stop!
Great food served fresh. You may have a wait but it's because they're making it right then. Ask for a (big) military discount
After our car decided to quit on us in the middle of nowhere, we got towed to Baker and dropped our car in the mechanics. Since the only motel was a real horror and we needed to wait for the car to get fixed until the next day, we decided to stay in this cute place. We love Greece, so the flavors of greek kitchen and the tunes of greek music made our beyond unpleasant situation actually pleasant. We spent the whole night trying out different foods (OMG for the french fries- one of the best we ever tasted!), playing cards, doing crosswords. Very pleasant and kind staff, quick service. Thank you Mad Greek Cafe! We will for sure recommend to all our friends to visit when passing by!
It was ok. Semi decent alternative to fast food, however I wouldn't tell a buddy to stop there when passing through Baker. The Pita was good.
There are a few of these cafes in between Vegas and LA. This one had a great gyro meat pita. The milkshake was good too. You order at the counter and find a diner style booth to sit in. The walls are decorated in Greek tribute art and information. It's a neat little cafe with better food than the fast food spots that comprise most of the rest of the options between Vegas and LA.
Great food. The strawberry shake was off the hook! Had a long drive from Vegas and Oakland so this quickly stop to eat helped me conserve all my alien jerky. The food is filling, and the place is a quick in and out style restaurant. It's too hot to do anything else out there
Was staying at the RV-park across the street, had breakfast here. Open 24/7, camper friendly, good pancakes and incredibly friendly staff.
Excellent place to stop and eat on your to or from Las Vegas! I got the Chicken Gyro this time and small Greek salad. The salad was fresh, with plenty of cucumbers, feta, lettuce, and tomatoes. The Chicken Gyro had great flavor, with fresh tomatoes, onions and sauce. The rice was tasty as well.
Consistently great food. I eat here a couple of times a month and I have never had a bad experience.
Kitschy but cute place in Death Valley. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. The pork gyro was okay but probably should had tried lamb instead. My "copilot" made a more daring choice of fish tacos in the middle of the desert. The fish was really really fried but okay. It was fun watching the cats through the window. They are obviously regulars at this place. I'm glad we stopped but i might not stop there again on the next trip through.
