The short gentlemen who works at this location was EXTREMELY rude to me when I attempted to return an Amazon package today. He barked and raised his voice at me because he couldn’t find a return label on the package, even though I clearly explained to him that he could scan a code sent to me on my phone. He finally scanned it begrudgingly after insisting on arguing with me. Then, he aggressively demanded I pay him a dollar to have it shipped back. I’ve dropped off Amazon packages at UPS stores before, this location included, and have never been charged. I explained this and he stormed off. If the short, bald employee demands you pay him directly cash to ship out your items, I recommend you confirm this with another employee first.

This is my first ever negative review. The UPS store on Alactraz Ave.in Oakland, CA. Don't even deserve one star. Almost always the rudest staff ever. Since, at present they are not providing the acknowledgment receipt, last time I was told by their staff to take a picture as to where I am leaving the package. I did that today. I took one picture of my package and another one from far to show that leaving in the big pile at the UPS store. The girl from the counter started to accuse me of stealing other people's information. I told her that was not my intention but I can delete it and did it. While she was making faces at me, another 'human', came from inside, talking very sternly that how they are doing us a favor by excepting non essential package which they only accept during the hours of 10-12PM. (no information about this anywhere except the hours they are open).
Once before, few months ago, when I went to return a defective item I had received, the guy was very happy to help but when he found out that I already had a return label, he refused to take by saying it was too large to accept which the other UPS store in Emeryville gladly accepted.
UPS customers deserve better service.

I called to check the store hours on March 21,2020 (Saturday) at 11: 20am. I didn’t get the associate’s name but I bet he’s the only guy working that day. The guy answered me and said “Here’s the deal. I only accept drop off packages if it’s only emergency. If it’s only returns or whatsoever, just do it next Monday. ” I was extremely disappointed with his answer, I was just asking their store hours and if it’s alright to drop off a package. He’s so rude and very bad customer service! I took my business at the 5627 Telegraph Ave instead. Don’t ever go to this store if you want a secured business!

I’d give negative if there is an option. I went to this store today on 03/19/20 to ship a online purchase package. The guy there spoke on his personal phone for 10 minutes before he sits down and talk to me. And he refused to help me print out ship label and says it was opened for essential shipments only. Half an hour later I had to go to other UPS store on Mission street in SF, and folks there helped me shipped out in 5 minutes and I wrote a great review to thank them. Lesson learned: There are great people in this world, don’t let small people ruin your day.

A breath of fresh air! After a rude and unhelpful encounter at The UPS store on telegraph, I came here wanting to make some copies. Lalo (spelled correctly?) was kind, polite, efficient, empathetic, and generous. I was in and out quickly and with a smile on my face. This will be my first stop next time!

Honestly this is just a normal UPS store but I feel the 2.9 stars is very unwarranted. Yo they take your stuff and ship it also they sell shipping stuff. That's pretty much all a UPS store needs to do to get 5 starts. Quit acting like people really read these or care at all what any of us think about a UPS store good god.

I gave my package to Mitch and then it was lost. It was more likely the store is running a scam and stealing packages and calling it a community service. Beware of this store

Another terrible ups store. Terrible service, employees are rude and argumentative. They managed to lose some important VISA documents sent there, and they tried to blame it on me.

Buy and print your label online, then come here. UPS online quoted me $80, the store quoted me at $250. If you print the label, they have to accept it. Don’t fall for their markups.

They were helpful when I came back with my own label, hence the 3 stars.

Notary Service review: called an hour in advanced to specifically confirm the notary was available. "Yes, till 5: 00! ". I arrive and am told they left and will be back in a few days. Okay.glad I made the trip out

We have had packages marked as delivered to our PO Box here from Amazon/USPS, yet when we came to pick them up, the packages could not be found in the store.
We were given multiple excuses as to why, all different from one another.

Im going to put it blunty. The moronic employees here will steal your packages.

Crappy, crappy.ent to get some of the free ups boxes and they in purpose do not have them so you have to pay for the same box, but without the ups log. Horrible, rude, thieves, horrible. Stay away, go somewhere where they do not try to rob you. Worst store I have ever been.

Had an easy experience coming here. 20 min before closing and 3 people ahead of me in line. The UPS guy was efficiently juggling all three at once and quickly took my box, said they'd handle it all, and I was on my way!

I stop by here often, for shipping services. Friendly people - they *really* know how to pack things! I see smiles, even when they're really busy. Snuggled around the corner from coffee shops and bagels - a great place to keep your home business operating.

The guys at the counter wanted me to pay to get things "double-boxed". I declined since I have shipped other beer glasses through UPS and Fedex with peanuts and bubble wrap. With adequate packing they would've made it through just fine. Instead it seems like they (deliberately?) under-packed my glasses and I received 2 out of 4 cracked.
I'll pack it myself next time.

Today I dropped off a very small package and I asked for one piece of tape to close the box (smaller than a shoe box) and the clerk charged me $1! As if paying for the shipping isn't enough to give out one piece of tape! Terrible customer service! I live on the same street but I won't be using this store anymore!

Rude, I came there for live scan service and they are like the only ups store that doesn't do it. And I asked if they knew where the Telegraph store was because they do live scan, and the person said " I don't know, I don't communicate with them", no helpfulness. Granted I was in a hurry but still you have to be nice when you are in customer service
