Torrey Pines Gliderport reviews
39A peaceful place to come and watch the gliders. Great views of la Jolla coves and the ocean. There are trails to the south where you can walk to the cliff. You cannot walk to the cliff where the aircraft take off. There is a Cafe and store too.
Absolutely gorgeous view. Always very very windy so temperature will never be too hot. Great place to chill and enjoy the sun. Lots of people hang gliding too.
Beautiful views of the coast, smells of camomile. There Is a small shop with drinks, sandwiches, snacks. Parking is not paved.
Absolutely Beautiful views of the ocean, with (for me whose out of shape lol) a serious workout hiking to and from the parking lot and beach area. You will see people in the nude hereAnd so I dont recommend bringing children to this beach, though some people do. To each their own I guess. The hike is worth it believe me.
This is always a great place to come if you want to entertain out-of-town guests. The view of the ocean is nice and it's fun to watch hang gliders take off. Also, it's free
A must when visiting San Diego. Fun to see people being lifted like large birds into the sky. Also a great view of the La Jolla coast!
P. S. Go to Mt. Soladad cross near by for the BEST view of entire San Diego
Nice people. The prices are higher than what i am used to in Europe and the photos are taken by someone on the ground not the pilot which make them less interesting. They make you sign 1000 papers and they take video recording of your consent. Still, we enjoyed the flight.
Note: there is a chance that the pilot will land in a nude beach rather than the takeoff location. My Little kid was rather shocked!
Best experience ever! I use a wheelchair and can't walk as soon as i showed up there they said that it was not a problem that the sky is the limit. We went the staff and owner are really courteous and helped me with the equipment. They made sure i had got to enjoy the joy of paragliding. Thanks for making it happen. Make sure to sign up for the pictures, there worth it.
The tandem hang gliding was worth the $175. The coast is so beautiful from above and making fast turns was awesome, like being on a roller coaster, but better.
Perfect place. You can watch and enjoy for hours as you soar through the air. It was expensive for us to do this. So we just went on a picnic and watched the whole process. But the spectacle is amazing.
We went last time we were in san diego and it's a must, place was booked this time.run and jump off the cliff, and glide toward the sun.if your not scared it's a must do.
Incredible views and soaring over the ocean is absolutely majestic! The staff is friendly and they make your experience fun and exciting! A definite must when living in or visiting San Diego!
I didn't have the guts to get on a glider, but they've got some tasty burgers and sandwiches up there and a nice area to sit and watch people fly.
No gliding for me but really enjoyed spending an evening with the family watching glidders going back and forth in the sunset. Amazing views!
Love the gliders amazing talent and so wonderful watching at the end of the day, beautiful pictures!
Amazing place to visit especially at the sunset. Great view of the ocean. It is free and there is also a small bar with some tables where to enjoy the drink.
It was fun to watch. On Sundays, it is very busy, so parking is free, but we had to park 1/2 mile away. It is $175 for the experience, but no worries, a professional person will be with you the whole time. Every one we asked, after the ride, said it was great. They BBQ yummy hot dogs, french fries drinks and more at a fair price. There are places to sit as well.
If you drive almost any high performance car, you will dislike the dirt lot as your car drags and bangs through the holes.
The hike is still precarious, but fortunately not that far.
The north end is less picturesque until you pass the rock jetty, where the river rock lined cove is deserted; the hike there, though, is a journey.
Best beach in san diego for anyone 18+.
Always fun here but PLEASE THOSE PIT TOILETS@ BEYOND DISGUSTING. BRING YOUR OWN TP AND SANITIZER AND HOLD YOUR BREATH!
