27My package never arrived on the guaranteed delivery date even though I saw in 'tracking' that it was in my town and in transit that very day. After that, there were no more tracking updates or information. So during open business hours I called the Citrus Heights office who it was in transit with and the line kept ringing until it hung up. I tried other phone numbers and still couldn't get through to a human. At this point, I have no idea where my package is, and this is not the first time this has happened.
My last two visits to this office, no line at all! The clerks were extremely nice and cordial.

I watch my mail lady put a "sorry we missed you" note on my door while I was at home.
If going for passport, good luck! No appointments available and walk-ins, even on a Monday afternoon are full. Of course there is no way to know that until you get there (read, took off work and drove 45 min just to be told they are full today) this is the government at work.
They should have a better system. Such a waste of time. No appointments available so only option is to stand in line every morning and hope that they don't get full before your turn comes. Office opens around 10.30 a.m. But people were in line from 7.00 a.m.
No idea regarding the service as never made it inside. They were full before it was my turn.
I guess plan ahead as no place to sit so take chairs, water etc. Also the line forms outside so it got hot as we were standing in the sun.

Passport service is bad.
I stayed in line for 3 hours just to hear that they don't have space for today so you can come tomorrow, wait a few hours to hear the same phrase. They don't schedule the appointments for future date. That's crazy
Update: as of today at least they do NOT open at 8: 30 am on Saturday. We have been in line for two and a half hours. And they have not opened. It’s now 10: 30 so they hopefully are opening soon. The man at the front of the line says he got here at 5 am. There are at least 50 people in line right now. Advice: get here early. Plan to wait a long time.
