Based on the employees at the San Leandro facility breaking items or loosing them to a third party company. I hate it when I get the call from them wanting to schedule a drop off. Plan on going through the experience of returning the item through UPS. Let the seller know whats going on even if they are across the country. Let them know dont use this service, its worth the extra money!

Yikes! I'd give them minus 5 stars if I could! WORST EVER. Good luck trying to get through to San Leandro UPS Freight Dept. The phone number just rings and rings forever. I literally called 50x to setup an appointment and go NO ANSWER. I finally got someone on the phone who promised me a delivery date, and they didnt even show up. Had to finally call the UPS corporate line to get it delivered. JOKE! Also UPS doesnt even deliver the freight in the end, they SUB CONTRACT it out to some other outfit (cheapest they can find, I'm sure). Their prices are the most expensive for freight and the WORST EVER customer service! They are the most expensive company and worst service. STAY AWAY!

275lb package lost, package found, scheduled for delivery, package lost again, package 6 days late never received. UPS didn't me once! Wish I could give zero stars.

Supposed to show up on the 25th just for them to not even show up. I had to call them and ask them what happened just for them to literally tell me I don’t know and that I should call tomorrow morning.

An electric bike was shipped to me via UPS that weighed 95lbs in its carton. I got a call on Friday and was told by UPS that they attempted delivery on the previous day (Thursday). I was home all day on both days and did not see nor hear a UPS truck all day. Again; on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the following week, I got the same call. I gave them specific instructions on where to leave the box in my driveway in case I did not answer the doorbell. No delivery was ever attempted as far as I could tell so on Wednesday afternoon, I drove an hour to get my bike myself. Even that was a hassle. The UPS Freight Center has extremely poor signage and once there, the employees were NOT friendly and provided little to no explanation on where to go from there. I finally found the WILL-CALL ramp on my own. My company has been instructed to never use UPS again and I secured a contract with FEDEX instead. What a nightmare this was and so avoidable.

My son worked here.this place is a joke.the managers turn a blind eye to damaged goods.management is horrible.they don't try and help their employees come up, rather make them feel worthless.please do not give them business or even work for them.

They received my order on 3/13/2019 and didnt bother to schedule a drop off. Now its Friday after i left a message asking about my package i get a call back saying they can only drop off on moday due to route drivers being gone. Now i have to reschedule my appointment with my mechanic witch is all costing me money. WORST EXPERIENCE!

Don't use UPS Freight if you live in a remote area. They will contract out your delivery/pickup to another company who has terrible customer service and scheduling.

LTL service is nothing like small package delivery. They scheduled a delivery from 10-2. Waited all day, nothing. After a phone call, they said the freight had not arrived in San Leandro yet. Why would you schedule a delivery without the item? They couldn’t even tell where it was. GPS? It arrived at night and they called to deliver it in a week. I picked it up myself in less than an hour. Poor communication skills.

One of the worst terminals to work in. You have to be ruthless and careless to work in an environment like the one this terminal has.

Our freight was supposed to be delivered on a Fri for our business which was dearly needed for the weekend. They told us they wouldn't deliver until Monday which would be detrimental to our business and if we wanted our goods, we would have to drive up to San Leandro from San Jose with our box van. Remind you that this was already 3: 30pm and traffic on a Friday was not lite. As pissed as I was I knew what I had to do. Drove up and waited forever for someone to help us with our pallets on top of being yelled at to move our vehicle for being parked incorrectly. We weren't even obstructing any other "non moving nor moving" vehicle. If I had known by an earlier phone call that our pallets were not being delivered, I would have been able to deal with this more efficiently.

Worked for the company as a city driver for five years befor it was ttransitioned from Overnite Transportation to UPS Frieght over ten years ago.nice to see it hasn't changed at all.same tthing still going on now as it was back then. All the drivers I worked with were good drivers the management and dispatch.no good comments. When I worked in the Benicia terminal we had 7 terminal managers in the of Five years I worked there. Everything that is being commented now, happened then. I quite because I could not take the crap they were serving me as well.

So, it took 12 phone calls to schedule a delivery. The delivery was scheduled for 1pm - 3pm today, November 30th. Great. 3 o'clock rolls by and no package. I call and actually got someone on the phone! She assured me that the driver was close and wouldn't be more than a few minutes. Another hour and a half goes by so I call back 6 times and can't get a hold of anyone. It is now 6: 48 and finally got my package about 10 minutes ago. And guess what? The box is damaged. I'm about to go through and see if any damage has been done to my order.
Very disappointed with their service. Left work early to be home so lost out on a good deal of potential money and time. I'll do my best to not use them at all cost, I will lodge a complaint with ups and notify the seller of the condition of the package.

I have a shipment out from LA Friday to San Leandro. I suppose receive it on Wednesday and it didn't show end of date. I call and UPS said should be deliver on Thursday. Friday afternoon still no show I call the UPS Freight location in San Leandro the supervisor told me he won't know until Monday. I call on Monday but phone keep giving me busy signal. This is ridiculous I thought UPS is a reliable shipping company. But I would think otherwise. I'll probably use FedEx next time if I need something ship on time.

Answer the phone! ZERO STARS! Again, Brown disappoints.

This is the worst freight terminal bar none. I made over 50 calls spanning 3 days only to get voicemail. Even the centralized UPS customer service couldn't reach the San Leandro Terminal. The majority of 3 business days was wasted trying to reach a live body. I was forced to contact the central office and it took them over 30 mins to connect. Even this CSR was frustrated.

The hours are restrictive & inconvenient, they won't answer calls and all other call options route you back to the same unresponsive extension. This is not my first bad experience here. UPS service operations has greatly declined from a few years ago. They are not a reliable partner. If your small business depends on access and reliability, go anywhere else. Every other LTL shipper does a better job & they even answer the phone.

Can be a really tight yard when it's busy. People are nice though and usually a place to park outside bobtail.

Don't think I have ever posted about a vendor before but my experience with UPS and this facility was so bad I felt compelled to. I needed an item I had ordered in time for a Saturday party we were hosting for my daughter's birthday. I ordered the item in plenty of time, it arrived at this terminal 3 days before the party (per the shipment portal) but they never called to schedule a delivery. I finally called the 800 number Thursday afternoon and was told I would get a call to schedule the delivery in the next hour. No one called so I called the 800 number again. This time they placed me on hold while they called the facility directly but the scheduler had left for the day. I was assured I would get a call the next morning before 9am to schedule the delivery. At 9: 10 I received a call from the scheduler asking me to provide delivery times for Monday (party was Saturday so this did me no good). I told her I needed it that day and she said she would have a supervisor call me back. An hour later the supervisor (Rob?) called me back and I explained my situation and why the item was needed. He basically told me all trucks go out by 9am and nothing could be done. I called the UPS 800 number to file a formal complaint about the way my shipment was handled and was told this facility had a number of "issues" and that someone from the facilities management their would reach out to me (has not happened so far and I'm not holding my breath). So my shipment was not there in time for the party. The icing on the cake is at the end of my talk with the supervisor he asked when I wanted the item delivered on Monday. I told him in the afternoon.when I called the facility on Monday to see what time it would be coming they did not have me on the schedule. Because of this they decided to have it sent out with a "special" partner carrier.which if they had only offered on Friday would have solved all my problems. If you can avoid dealing with shipping via this service/service center you should.
