Loved it here. The all you can eat deal is definitely worth it. We went for my wife's birthday but didn't tell the restaurant that it was her birthday. They still brought a dessert plates for us at the end. We were so surprised. Not sure how they knew. We're guessing it was from checking our ID's, but it was still several days after her birthday, so that was really nice of them. Loved our meal and the service.

The Balkan experience is worth it. The portions are perfect for two people. Extremely tasty and a good mix of heavy and light.

I had the pleasure of trying the bottomless brunch and it was simply amazing. We had a party of 6 and everyone at the table had a range of dietary concerns but we were all very pleased with the options. The vegetarian dishes were scrumptious and the service was on par. Our server Kris is a super star and handled all our requests consistently throughout the two hour experience. Also wanted to thank Rose the host and Christian the manager-a very impressive team that made our Ambar Experience extraordinary!

Good food, good service, good ambiance. However portions are what you'd expect at a fancy restaurant: order a crepe, you'll get a square morsel of deliciousness that probably constitutes a third of what you'd get at a crepe stand. Same goes for the appetizers here. I took out-if-town guests here who ordered extra plates to constitute a normal sized meal and brunch cost almost $200. "Wow, DC Prices" they said. No, not really. Ambar has good food but there's more reasonable options around Cap Hill.

One of the greatest meals I've ever had. My wife & I had the Balkan Experience. Normally I hate having to even order something like that out loud - it's just so earnest and hokey. But seriously, it lived up. We sat in the restaurant for hours - trying new things, enjoying every one, getting more of the ones we liked best. The food was excellent, and the service was spectacular. If I had a complaint, it would probably be the cramped seating (we sat downstairs; I don't know how it is upstairs). But honestly, the moment the food started arriving even the seating didn't bother us. We both absolutely loved it, and next time in town this will be the one thing that I know for sure we'll do.
