Loved the food and vibe of the place. Our hostess was very nice. We ordered avacado toast, mushroom toast and strawberry waffle. Service was quick and food tasted amazing.

I have eaten here more than two dozen times mostly though it’s become my weekend early breakfast routine. I’ve had 80% of the breakfast/brunch menu items & am never disappointed. The waffles are amazing (what you’d expect from a Belgium restaurant), the mushroom toast is so well seasoned snd a delight. The green eggs a really nice twist & I could go on… I loved the poached eggs with salmon and if you’re looking for traditional American
you can get it there too. I’ve also had the Flemish stew and mussels. The stew is extremely flavorful (a top notch culinary experience) and who can go wrong with a mussels in a white wine, garlic butter sauce with plenty of herbs to add the “wow” to the flavor. I am not a drinker but I did enjoy a really nice glass of Cabernet with the stew and it was an incredible match. They have a wide selection of wines. Overall if your looking for wonderful food experience, you’ll have it here. The service is also always great and Omar is my go to server. He adds a nice mix of professionalism/home style treatment. Amongst the best DC spots!

Best breakfast I’ve had in awhile. Everything was fresh and the service was great as well. 10/10 recommend the French toast!

Great food, just loved the Belgian waffle toast and crispy egg on mushroom toast. Right amount of whipped cream on top along with raspberry on my waffle; perfectly flavored mushroom with a seared egg on it.

A must visit for brunch/lunch when in DC.

The Belga is my favorite spot on Capitol Hill. The staff is outstanding and Chef Bart is a culinary expert. I love the classic mussels and frites (with an order of fresh baked bread and butter). The bartender makes the best cocktails. You will love it too! Cheers!

I have been going to Belga for 15 years -sometimes with a friend, sometimes with the MIL, and sometimes with the family- and always love it. I am usually a mussels and frites guy (curry mussels are extraordinary) but have also gotten some other entrees that I enjoyed very much. Wine selection is fine but it's the beer selection that really sets Belga apart: it's fun just to browse the menu but also fun to try something new and different (in its proper glass, of course). The owner is often on-site keeping an eye on things and it shows. A wonderful neighborhood asset -and, actually, a wonderful city and region asset. It's that good.

The chicken was very dry and the wafflel appetizer tasted like burnt toast. Nice selection of beer.

Where's the love? Solid food and nice atmosphere. We came for lunch on restaurant week. Food was good, not great but still good. We would definitely return.

Crab pappardelle, tasty but really had to mix it to taste the sauce. It was ok.
Cheese croquette, delicious!
Banana bread pudding, was ok too.

I wasn't impressed but it was still solid food. Would return! Service was good and attentive and wines were impressive.

Belgian Cafe experience. Interesting menu that is different from most brunch places. Rabbit hash browns and rabbit cocktail is featured. Do not slip on the cinnamon waffle though.

Amazing experience! Everything was beyond excellent. My biggest issue I had upon arrival was deciding what to even order. The food options are creatively appetizing! I would have left a 6 star rating!

Had a great time at brunch! The green eggs and ham is my favorite option and to make it gluten free, just ask for no English muffin. The mimosas are great, the service was awesome and the atmosphere was perfect for a Saturday morning.

Tried the brunch here a couple of times and both times I felt I overpaid for average food. Nothing was spectacularly tasty, but it wasn't bad either. They have a few vegetarian options, which is why I went here in the first place. The waffles are okay, don't know why they always come out cold (I prefer them warm). The second time I visited I got an eggshell in my order (I do want to point out that I did eat the rest, but the management didn't even offer to discount the dish)
Don't think I'll go back here, they dont offer substitutions for meat, but ask us to pay full price either way.

Amazing food, specially recommend the Nutella crepe and Waffles. Mussels is a great option as well.

No worth the money. Steak and bacon was good, mussels were very disappointing, no flavor, no bread.

Either I don't like Belgian food or I just didn't like the Belgian student who kept asking me to join him here. It's a nice ambiance and has outdoor seating, but I didn't love the steak frites he always begged me to order. Tried the roasted vegetables once too and did not love it (and that's hard to mess up). Wish the staff would have helped out when the Belgian was out of line.

Excellent and wide spread of Belgian dishes, many you’ve probably never heard of.

Extensive Belgian beer and wine menu to add.

And the fries, cooked to perfection so you could eat them with salt alone.

I got the Belgian beef stew and the flavors were dynamic and layered.

Incredible food, excellent service, beautiful restaurant!

My meal of choice was the EEN GEROOSTERD KIEKEN MET GOURGETTE

Herb stuffed roasted chicken, patison, zucchini, squash, garlic, lemon thyme, za’atar spices, jus de poulet.

It was phenomenal, savory, and delicious!

Host gave away our table (that was reserved) before the 15 minute grace period had elapsed. It seems like the establishment was not honoring their reservations and were not empathetic to the frustrations of those who had booked a table but were kept waiting after walk-ins were seated. A different host/server rudely asserted we should “move to the bar. ” He did not ask if we would like to move nor did he acknowledge we were waiting for a table reserved a week prior. When I said we prefer to stand near the host table so we are not overlooked when the next table because available his response was less then polite (not earth shattering rude but once again, not empathetic).

Food was okay. Nothing to write home about but not awful. The Belgian frites were good but unfortunately the waffles were dry. Not worth the wait or hassle in my opinion - but perhaps the mistake was booking on a Sunday during the brunch crowd. I reckon the food, atmosphere, and staff would be better during a less busy day and time.

One of the best breakfast places is DC. The open rooftop is unmatched, and they had one of the best cocktails and skillets I've ever had. I will definitely be going back again!
