Flavio Restaurant DC reviews
33 I visited Flavio’s last week.in my party consisted of my daughter, grandson, grand daughter and
myself. It was very hot and humid that day, we were told ac was broken. After the waiter who
we found out was the manager, took our order he never came back to our table not once, We
requested lemons from the bus boy. When we had finished our meals we could not get the
attention of the waiter (manager) to pay our bill, we had to ask another waiter for our
check. This was my first and last time visiting this restaurant. The pizza was great, but the
Caesar salad was disgusting like the waiter (manager) I give this place 1 STAR. I forgot
to mention the dungeon bathroom.it was in the basement, it smelled musty and there was
no way for me to tell the ladies room from the men’s room.the area was dark I walked into
an area where a man was using the urinal. I almost ran out. I turned around to see another
area for women. I held the door while using the toilet for fear of someone walking in on me.
That was the most unnerving experience of my day.never again will I ever visit this place.
The service at this place is fast and very friendly. We enjoyed the food and we are coming back soon!
Service was very friendly. Martini was not very well made and the main plate was a bit oily; however, it was tasty. The calamari fritti was a bit dry. Overall, a nice setting, but would ask for a little more a/c.
Reservation made a week ago. Waited for 40 past. The host staff is incompetent (walk ins got seated first before reservations).
Not worth it, not going to lie. 45$ for thanksgiving package that was terrible and barely finished the food
Help very pleasant but not attentive. Interior smells stale and unclean.
Calamari not fresh, smelled fishy. Lemon dried out. Pasta Arrabita tasty, but only three pathetically small shrimp, extremely poor value. Utensils dirty. Did not refill iced tea. Overpriced for average food and nonexistent service.
Great place for pizza if you like the really thin style pizza a lot of people come around here so it's interesting to try and find out who they are and what they do by playing the game "what do you think he's thinking of right now".
They have some outside heaters but those are not enough to keep you really warm when it gets cold outside. And they also have these bubbles that ensure nobody will come into your personal space except the waiter and also that only depends if you ordered something or not. Don't expect this place to be cheap it is pricey as hell maybe a little pricier. Actually there are more pricey places than this but it still more lime $20 for a single meal
Was in the area recently. They were extremely kind and went out of their way to help me. Highly recommend their service!
AMAZING food! The ricotta gnocchi is the BEST I’ve ever had! I need to know how they make the sauce So delicious that I will drive all the way from Northern MD every few weeks to get the best gnocchi ever
Professional service. Less clean than I would like- bathroom floors are sticky, salt shaker had orange flecks on it, and there was a hard to place smell underneath the food. Lobster was overcooked, tough, and dry. Sauce poorly balanced- very acidic and little other flavor. Pasta did not taste fresh. Mussels were very good. Few options for wine by the glass. Very nice staff.
Weird smell, sticky floors, dirty bathrooms, sticky salt shakers were early signs that this place is not into managing details. The staff were all very friendly and competent. Our mussels were delicious, but our main dishes were very mediocre. The lobster was tough and dry, sauce overpoweringly acidic, and noodles did not taste fresh. Very few wine options by the glass. Not a terrible experience, but I can't say I'd recommend it.
The best gnocchi I've ever had! The portions were good, maybe a little big but worth the price. Great setting and wait staff, as well. I'll make it a point to go back next time I'm in the city.
This place is disorganized chaotic mess starting with the hostesses. Do not come here during dinner time because they just cannot handle the volume of customers.
The food was incredible. The bartender was great, super friendly and attentive. Really classy establishment with great ambiance. Lengthy wait times, I would recommend making a reservation. The Gnocchi was delicious.
Greate atmosphere and very good Italian food. The pizza was very good. A bit too busy and noisy place so if you wish for quiet lunch or dinner look for another
Food too salty
Waiter not kind or polite
They charged us more than what we ordered on the bill but we asked them to change the bill to the right one
Fast service and good ambience. I really liked the place but unfortunately ordered the wrong pasta. The prices are on the expensive side and I did not like the lasagna. I felt it was too salty for my taste but we also ordered meatball appetizers and that was really good. Overall a bittersweet experience. I do suspect their pizzas are delicious but that's for next time.
I don't usually write restaurant reviews though I probably should do so more because of the bumper crop of great restaurants in DC and Miami, the two places where I live. But eating at Flavio's gave me no choice but to sing its praises. This was my second time here and though the first left a great taste in my mouth (pun intended), this visit made it impossible to come up for air as I was enjoying the food so much. Even my three year old son nearly finished a heaping plate of spaghetti Bolognese. I ate Branzino and combined with the grilled vegetables, the taste was mouth watering and the same could be said for my wife and her mushroom Ravioli. We cannot wait to come back!
I had a reservation at 9: 45 pm on July 3rd. I arrived at 9: 15 and they told me kitchen was closed. No one notified me, if they had a problem in the kitchen they should call all people with existing reservations to notify of the situation. I traveled all the way from Virginia just to visit this restaurant. Spent 40 dl in Uber for nothing.
Food was average. Service was bad. Kept making excuses for the slow kitchen and bartender. Noisy. Too many good places in DC. Skip this one.
