This was my favorite place in the late 1970's and all of the '80s. The food was tasty, but it was hard to read or create because the music was so loud.

PWYC soup & a Cultural Studies shelf full of queer theory, racial justice & biopolitics.

This is an independent book store with a cafe inside. The number of books was a little more limited than I expected, but the selections they had were interesting. They cafe is nice, but i was sad they did not have any gluten free options. Hopefully that will change! Bathrooms were clean and the space has nice big windows, which mean there is lots of natural light. It's a nice place to read and work.

I discovered The Potter's House back in my college days, the 70s. And I have been returning time and time again. The Potter's House has evolved and grown even better over the years. Offering good food reasonable prices and interacting with the community. Whether it's providing sandwiches soups or beverages for those down-on-their-luck or providing a showcase for artists to hang their works or have special performances or spoken word presentations. I look forward to my next visit.

One of the few cafes in DC with ample seating space and decor conducive to working and reading while enjoying a nice cup of coffee.

They use CounterCulture beans, the staple it seems for DC cafes. It is, however, one of the most expensive cafes in DC, charging $5.23 for a soy latte, and they don’t have a great variety of pastries and sweets. Those reasons deny them the 5 stars, in my opinion.

Disgusting. Although their website promotes progressive values, they treat their staff like garbage. I will not be going back again to such a hypocritical establishment.

This is by far the best bookstore in the area. They have served the community well for many years without any negative reviews. Their books collection is also amazing. My kids really love coming here.

Loved this place. Good coffee, cool setting, and books. How can you go wrong with that? Plus, a portion of your purchase goes to charity. It's all good.

This place is nice for a community cafe. It is a blessing for people who are hungry and just want to have a cup of hot soup or coffee.

Great coffee and atmosphere. Not only is it a coffee house, it's also a bookstore. Try the vanilla latte; they make the vanilla themselves.

Need a cozy place to sit, read, browse or meet a friend, this is the place. Great coffee, soup delectable salads, coffee cakes and croissants. In the evenings there is often entertainment and poetry readings. Good placed for loners also.
