Alf is one of the first people that has listened to what I want and never doubted anything I said that I wanted. They are extremely professional and helpful when it comes to hair needs. They have a strong understanding of curly hair which is a difficult skill to find in hair professionals. I highly recommend him!

Amazing experience. I love my haircut. I have curly hair so going short is sometimes scary. Alf is a curly hair genius, I love the length and the shape of my cut. I will definitely go back.

I've been going to Avant Garde for several years. Michael and Rob run an excellent business and are always kind and courteous (along with the rest of the staff). I always feel relaxed and welcomed. LeighAnn takes care of my hair services and I've always had a good experience. She listens to what I am requesting, provides suggestions and in the end, does what I would like. She's great fun and I imagine, she enjoys what she does. She is an excellent stylist and takes her time with my appointments.

I was worried at first because I haven’t been to a hair salon in Gainesville before. And this experience was great. The place smelled amazing and was very clean and it was very nice. My stylist was amazing she really walked me through every step of the process and gave me exactly what I wanted. I will be going back.

I had my first haircut with Brittney this afternoon and I cannot put into words how happy I am with my new style. She really listened to what I wanted and did a PHENOMENAL job on a classic angled bob.

I went for a massage and it was wonderful. Everyone was friendly, my appointment started on time, and I felt that the massage therapist listened to me and provided a tailored experience. The prices are extremely reasonable for such a top notch service.

I’ve been coming to this Salon for many years. No matter who I see, the staff always provides excellent services, and I always leave with a huge smile on my face. I come in for cuts and highlights, and they always pick a gorgeous blonde shade personalized for me! I currently live about two hours out of town, but I refuse to find another stylist in my area because Avant Garde is so good! I’m willing to make the commute to get perfect results. They also offer free drinks and are very kind and personable. I always recommend them to anyone!

I hardly let anyone touch my curly hair, but Alf did an amazing job! The staff was super polite and offered me coffee on the way in. The whole experience was great, and I love the results! I'll definitely be returning:)

I have been going to 5 dollar places for years or just shaving my head. As a dude I didnt care what i did to my hair. A friend recommended me to this place an since then the friendly stalf has opened be to new styles and a respect for my hair. The products they use are mostly derived from nature and not harmful plastics and chemicals which is awesome. Also the staff has given me a cut i can have fun with and also look professional with. It may seem a little pricey but when hair is the extension to your soul and whom you want to portray. Every bit os worth it

First time at the salon a couple weeks ago and it was a great experience! Alf is amazing, very talented, and really listens. He cut my wavy hair before washing it, which was a whole new experience for me and was perfect for my hair. I definitely recommend Alf, he is great!

I recently moved to the Gainesville area and I have not seen another hairstylist other than the one back at home for almost 10 years, but I'm happy that I trusted Avant Garde. At the recommendation of a lot of my friends I went in today and had an appointment with Samantha - she was so unbelievably kind and personable and made my first experience an amazing one. Avant Garde is a beautiful salon and I'm very happy with my experience and hair cut. I will be back!

Friendly staff. Samantha S.is absolutely wonderful and very skilled, especially with my curly, frizzy hair. The salon is always clean and welcoming.

They moved my appointment without letting me know, I arrived with friends and then they told us i had to wait an hour, no apology. Nothing the manager was sooo rude. I liked my stylist but the front dest disappointing

Alf is the best! Every time I’ve gone to Avant Garde, I’ve asked for something at-least-slightly different, and he’s nailed it every time. He is incredibly attentive to detail, and I have gotten so many compliments on my haircut over the past week. Cannot reccomend him enough!

I have been a client of Avant Garde for several years and they have always provided excellent service. The staff and stylists are kind, thoughtful and talented. As a vegan I find their cruelty-free and vegan product line to be necessary and of outstanding quality.

Alf gave me pretty much the best haircut I've ever gotten. He was so careful and attentive; I told him after it was over that he was like a delicate gardener. Great place, great staff, overall great experience.
