I want to take the time to thank Selly F. For taking the time to follow up with me on an incident i experienced with a visit to the institute. She was professional, she listened and took the necessary measures to correct what had happened. Aveda is known for its amazing customer experience and i am glad to know that our local Aveda Institute carry that same standard. She definitely represents the brand well. Bait and switch. My daughter and I responded to a request for hair models. I communicated directly with the student and was given a time. I confirmed.even asking details about facemasks for Covid and where to go when we arrived. I drove over 30 minutes to get there. Some kid with giant gauges came over and told us we wouldn't be seen because they had another model "on the way" and the student had overbooked. I said "but we are here". He repeatedly said he could schedule us as a "walk in" but we would have to pay. Uhm.no. We don't do the bait and switch thing. I know he accessed our appearance and assumed we LOOKED like we could afford to pay. Yes, kiddo, we could.but I didn't get to that ability by falling for bait and switch scams.
Another well known school is right down the street and has a far better reputation. This was my first and LAST time going to Aveda. I have lived in the area for over 20 years.and it seems the negative rumors are true. Hence, why I have always gone to the other school. Way to lose two potential customers in one sweep.
I still don't understand how you turn two people away because another client is "on the way". Translation.one of their friends wanted a cut and this place is run by unprofessional, entitled kids. I suggest a course in customer service and professionalism.

Thought I would give them a try again after a bad experience 2 years ago. They called 30 minutes before my appointment at 12: 30 and said she couldn’t see me until 3! This was after confirming 3 times with them. Never going again, they need help with booking!

When I went to Aveda last week for a color retouch and cut I was so pleasantly surprised at the different experience I had compared to the last time. I felt like I was back at my "old" Aveda that I've been going to for 8+ years. The student who took care of me, Ortilia, was so professional and eager to learn and her educator, Danny, was so eager to teach. Danny said she had only been at this Aveda for about a week, but what an addition she makes. She was so patient and really demonstrated what a great educator should do. Both Danny and Ortilia made my morning an absolute pleasure. I loved my color as well as the cut and style and I can't wait to go back.

I made an appointment to have blonde touch up with one of the students, when I arrived they told me she cannot do blondes, because she's new. Ok. I waited almost 1 hr to have some other student tell me that she cannot do my hair today, because they didnt received the shipment with colors to do blonde touch ups. 1 hr of my time plus driving there, when It was so fricking easy to call me and cancel. But the worst part was, my daughter's appointment with another student. This rude bold guy (maybe teacher) asked for a payment of $160 for a preteen color hair! Wth. That is New York prices not some bs school/ student. I won't pay that for a student to play with my daughter's hair! Besides he was rude and my daughter was not happy to waste time like that for nothing. Don't go there! People are rude and don't care if you there for over 1 hour. I feel bad because we were looking forward to have that student work n our hair.

I have been getting my hair done at this location for years and have been happy with the results each and every time. I would highly suggest this place to get your hair done or a massage or even a facial. They use Aveda products and you're only paying a fraction of the cost you would at a normal salon. There is always a positive vibe at this location.

GO SEE ALIYAH! She is amazing! She did a beautiful balayage on me and was so kind. It was a super pleasant experience and the students are constantly getting checked on by their supervisors. Really great outcome for the price especially! I would just say expect to spend longer than you would think because they are learning:)

The Aveda Institute is a great place to pick up Aveda products! I haven’t got a haircut there yet, but just got a coupon. I’ll be checking them out soon. With money so tight now the Institute has great prices!

The student hair dresser, Joel, was excellent. He was articulate, attentive and has very good customer service skills. Now the young gals at the reception area did not follow up nor check on the status of my appointed hair dresser causing me to wait forty minutes to be called after I approached both gals on two separate occasions. The first instance, I asked about when I'd be called in, I had been waiting for 20 minutes in the reception area to find out that the gal had checked me in under another name, although I had written my name and phone number on the COVID policy forms. The second time, I asked to wait inside my car to avoid being around people in the lobby area, the receptionist/cashier said she'd call in 10-15 min but never did. So after 20 minutes, I get out of my car, go inside and find out that they had never assigned my appt to anyone until I walked in at 340.

I went to school here. The mission is beautiful, the products are great. I would in fact like many, be open to adding more value to the experience. I run into alumni all the time who attended after me and it saddens me to hear about their unfortunate experiences with this school. Nowhere is perfect but especially for the tuition, there should be a more positive production of stylists that are more successful than the ones I’ve encountered who feel the need to do and say the nasty things they do to get by in this industry. I’ve had people go to great lengths to make it that much harder than it ought to be. That’s the opposite of positive. One of your alumni came to my place of employment causing a fuss and making strange claims, and giving me a fake alias. I’m flattered, but I also feel bad for the types of people who do stuff like this. It’s a testament that they can’t possibly be doing much better than me. The institution has a reputation for gossiping and slandering your students which I would think goes against building your brand. I would be delighted to speak to anyone who is working on or cares to fix this issue.

I just got my hair done here, I got a balayage with a trim & style, and I’m in love.
I had previously used boxed dye on my hair and they were able to accommodate me regardless, and the quality of my haircut and color is amazing. The students are constantly checking in with/being supervised by an educator so I felt like they truly made sure everyone was comfortable. Such a great experience, please go!

I had the best experience at Aveda! I have amazing highlights/color and a shaggy haircut-both of which exceeded my expectations. My Junior Stylist, Aliyah, was attentive to all my requests and gave good advice on the color/highlights. The Senior Stylist/Instructor, Morgan, cut my hair just right. I’m coming back!

Kimberly Harris did an amazing job giving me a massage. She address my issues and help me tremendously recommend her. Rossy Lopez was very Professional. She took excellent care of me and my hair turned out amazing! Highly recommend her!

Chelsea Fanning is an awesome Master Student. The Educator Fidel is totally an expert in providing direction and suggested areas of improvement. Both ensure Customer Sat Service with a SMILE. Love#Aveda

Just don't put yourself through the aggravation of scheduling an appointment.it's not worth the headache that will ensue. I promise you that you will be disappointed; btw my previous review left a year ago has vanished.

They do a great job but just realize it takes a long time these are students and they are all still learning so don’t expect perfection if you want perfection then go spend the $200 it cost for professionals to do the service don’t come in being rude it’s not appreciated. Keep up the good work Aveda!

I have come to Aveda many times in the past and have recieved good service, but this place is becoming absoutely horrible, receptionist are rude! Very unprofessional, last time they will be getting my business! I am completely done with them all together! I will NEVER be coming back they want to charge people high quality prices that a salon would charge with no "high quality" outcome! I'll take my business elsewhere, and amazes me, how they allow someone so rude to answer the phone line.

My last appointment was cancelled because the student's previous customer ran over. I was not offered another student, in fact I was told that no one was available. I've been cancelled before, but in the past some accommodation has been made. I was mostly surprised this time because it was several hours before my scheduled appointment that had been made the previous week. The quality of hair services has overall always been good, but I now find that the appointment system, etc is not reliable.

I’ve been coming here for a little over 3 years now. A friend of mine made the suggestion about getting my massages there. I was skeptical and always believed you get what you pay for. Well I was wrong, I enjoy the Chaka massage and feel totally relaxed and at peace when I leave. The only negative thing I can say about this place, is that their appointments fill up so quickly. I must book weeks in advance, once even a month in advance: (: (.
