I waited over a half hour. The student Wes, who said he was already working in a salon, just blew dry my hair. No flat iron cause he said he wouldnt have a lunch. I could have done better myself. I went home and redid it. What a waste of time and $. Second time this happe n ed. Tried to give them a second chance.

Thank you Dani. Love my haircut and the color might have taken all day but I love the end result, just what I wanted! Thank you to all the others that helped out too.

Never had any issues at the Aveda in other locations. Went here for the first and LAST time. Asked for a simple one inch trim with light layers. Sounds pretty easy right? What I got was 5 inches hacked off with the worst, most uneven layers I’ve ever had. I would not even trust you to fix this mess you’ve created. Cheers to starting a years worth of hair growth. I doubt she was a “Master Student”. What a joke. Thanks a lot.

My name is Kristine Steinert and my daughter Kelly is getting ready to start school here at Aveda, Leslie Bray is awesome in every way and a shout out to Britney as well, what a great experience so far, thank you for your professionalism and going above and beyond to get things started off in such a positive way.

Drop everything and book an appointment with Shena before she graduates. Her balayage is a work of art. She’s meticulous and I couldn’t be happier with the results!

I went there this past Saturday to get a cut and blue highlights for Autism Awareness Month. I had pictures of exactly what I wanted, and the so called educator messed it up. The student that I had was a sweetheart, but the teachers told her the wrong bleach and the wrong formula for the blue that I wanted. The teacher was even bragging about how she nailed the color. I was charged $110 because she was a Master student. I could have gone to a regular salon and gotten it done right in half the time. I was there for 7.5 hours, and that was without full blow dry or style because they had to rush through the end so that I could get home to my family. I'm so disappointed and will never be back, and I will tell all of my friends to not bother going there. I'm now waiting at an actual salon to try and get the correct blue put in, but they may not be able to do it because of the color already in there. Stay away from this place if you want a quality haircut and color!

Haircuts are okay but they are NEVER on time. Every time I have come here I've had to wait at LEAST 15-20 minutes after my appointment time.

AI South has several CLASS ACTUON LAWSUITS AGAINST THEM for discriminating against people with disabilities. If you don’t fit their “Aveda” mood or if they simply don’t like you, they will make up lie after lie to get you terminated from the school. Would give 0 if I could. Awful for-profit school that makes you feel like you’re on edge no matter what you do or how you act. You’re always in trouble for something. They terminate students with no evidence. You barely slip up once, you’re getting written up and sent home. Save your money and go somewhere else. They make this place seem like a warm welcoming place with experienced educators when in reality you’re ostracized for asking questions, talked down to when you try new things, and just made to feel like a total idiot if you don’t get something. You feel like you’re walking into a mask shop the classmates there are SO MEAN and the educators do nothing but allow it to happen. The educators are the worst part. The education itself was fine. But when my Theory teacher tells me to “learn everything at home” after I spent $20,000 to learn it from you? Then they just give you the answers to the tests, and when you do it between each other you get written up for cheating. Becca is the WORST! Nobody there really seems like they want to teach you. Those “300 hours of advanced education” is FREE LABOR for the school so they can milk as much profit from you as they can. They try to tell you your tips are a “privledge” after standing and doing hair for 11 hours STRAIGHT. Save yourself the trouble. I’m taking legal action against this school. Don’t go through the troubles that I did.

Let me start off by saying, this place is amazing! I have had services done myself and so has my family!
You can tell that there is new management in the school as the vibe is amazing. Good vibes, great styles and great prices.

Do Not Attend this school! Check out Paul Mitchell or Hollywood Institute. This school sells you on a bunch of lies. After your 14 day cancellation period is over their true colors come out and the b.s rules and disrespect begins. Paying almost 18 thousand dollars to be belittled when ever they decide is reason enough to right this review and make sure no one else falls for their marketing lies. Ask the students how they feel about attending this school and you will hear the truth!

The massage I had scheduled for my birthday was just cancelled without my consent because this school has no idea when their students are going to graduate. What kind of educational facility doesn’t know that in advance? ! Thanks for putting a damper on my “special” day. Clearly the Orlando location doesn’t care about appointments or celebrations.

I went in with wanting icy blonde balayage and the teacher respectfully told me that it would be hard to do since I had dark brown hair. I appreciated the honest feedback and she then showed me something similar that we could do that wouldn't fry my hair. I really liked that she showed me something similar because I have been to the Paul Mitchell institute and the lady told me no and insisted that we just go a solid color (easier on her end). Overall, Emily K.did an amazing job, the only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because of the women at checkout. She was very rude and said that I could not use my $20 off first time guest coupon because I was a model and already getting a discounted price. I understood that I was already getting an awesome deal and I just asked if if I could use the coupon or not. It was really just the way she came out about it. I hope she learns some communication skills before she graduates or she won't make it too far.

I had been here many times in the past years, never had a bad experience. I’ve always understood that it takes a lot more time than in any other place because a student is cutting your hair and they have an instructor check on their progress every few steps. But 3 hours and a half for a haircut and styling in unprecedented. Again, i’ve been here many times, always walked out happy with my service. Today i went and my hair is CLEARLY uneven. It is so frustrating. The blowdry work was mediocre because she coated my hair with an unnecesary amount of products so it feels packed and it’s starting to look bad.

I called from my car as i was driving away and the only solution that would come at no cost to me is for me to come back tomorrow afternoonand have a student again fix this, probably waste another 2-3 hours because they won’t have a professional fix it. I will never come back.

UPDATE:
After I schedule that appointment for the next day so that i would take the risk to have them ruin it for me again. They call me 2 hours before my appointment and asked me if it was okay to push it 2 more hours because they were "behind". It's December 22nd at this point so I had to just go somewhere else and get it fixed.

Did I ever hear back from them? No. Did they ever honor the service guarantee? No.

I have only ever been to the Tampa location where they are amazing! Just went to this location for the first time and there was a long line checking out, so I approached the front desk to ask where I should go to check in for my salon service. I’m not sure who the person was if they were a manager or not, but they did not have a line they were tending to so I wasn’t interrupting anyone and was expecting them to at least greet me; instead she looked at me and with an unwarranted attitude said “Well, the line is right there. ” I mean I get it, I’m paying half the price I would at a salon; but I want somewhat of a salon/spa experience and not to be treated like I am at a Dunkin’ Donuts. I know the holidays are crazy, but it’s common courtesy! Walked out and won’t be back to this one.

Had a perm which could have been a horrible ordeal. It wasn't! Not only was it pleasant, it was a great job and I love it.

The one appointment I had that didn't get cancelled was fine. Otherwise, they cancelled my massage 2 months after I booked it (1st opening) and couldn't get me in for another 2 months. Prenatal, so too late it was after my due date. Cancelled my facial 3 weeks after I booked, they over scheduled. Cancelled my rescheduled facial day of, student out sick and no one else could do it.

I just left there and I'm just very unhappy with my service. I paid 70 dollars for my hair to look terrible. I regret not saying anything. This is the second time I was unhappy leaving there. I won't be going back.
