Our 5yr/old Yorkie was diagnosed with urate bladder stones. Based on other tests it was discovered he has a liver shunt. Surgical repair of the shunt and removal of the stones is required. The medical veterinarian explained everything very well, provided pre-op medications, and tge referral to the surgeon. The bladder stones are still there however, we are monitoring him very closely. We have a surgical consult for Dec 4th, which I think is too far out. I hope there is an opening appointment sooner, so surgery can take place. I worry about Bailey all the time!
