Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park reviews
35Enjoy going for walks with the family here, feels safe but, sad to see so many homeless people around the downtown area recently though. It doesn't affect us or make us feel unsafe I just wish we could help them all when we do see them.
Honestly, this place was underwhelming. Not much to see or do, legit is just a walk alongside the water. No restaurants or shops for example.
Really only came here to get some day and night video from my drone. It was a tight airspace to fly in because of the proximity to several air fields but it was in an open fly zone.
Got some great shots and the night flight was incredible! The view from above really captures the lights and colors that you just can't appreciate at ground level.
I'm not from the area but the park seemed pretty safe, even at night.
Great park and awesome vibes. Love being by the water and just enjoying the company of close friends. 10/10 would recommend.
Such a lovely park right along the water. Would be a romantic date. Great place to rollerblade or just walk or run. The restrooms were closed, which was inconvenient, but it was worth it.
Great place to relax on the greenery, walk by the water, bicycle or skate, rent electric scooters, playground for the kids or water feature to play in. At night the lights on the buildings and surrounding features are pretty and stop at Eddie & Sam's pizza for a real NY slice or whole pie.
So beautiful! Cant wait to return. Great for walking at night w/family. Great for scooters and skates.
Kiwanis Club Duck Race was held here on 8/24. Lots of ducks (15,000) dropped in to the race. Fun times. Misting water helped keep kids and dogs cooled off as there is very little shade to take refuge under from the hot August sun. Other sponsor tents out and bouncy castle for the kids. This is a great park across the river from University of Tampa to hold events. It is also part of Riverwalk, so open container is allowed in Riverwalk-approved plastic cups.
On the water Riverwalk Gos towards downtown Restaurants, Boats up and down the River. Fun water spouts coming from ground, fun for kids to run in and out, Dog friendly, and family fun!
Great place to go for long walks, bike rides, etc.plenty of places to rest and cool off in the shade as well. Haven't had the chance to visit at night but I've had a couple friends mention that the lighting and overall vibe is even better after dark.
Pretty. Rather big but nice area. Can get busy as the university is right there. Would go back to check it out more.
Rent a scooter or a bike through uber or lime (?).
Parking is free on weekends.
Very historic you can have a wedding there, several restaurants, river boat rides stroll with family friends or kids, enjoy peaceful n quiet.
Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park has become an attractive open air venue in the downtown area for concerts and various other events. The Hillsborough River to the west adds a soothing flavor for people watching. It's a great place for a walk that's close to the hub of downtown working people for a brief relaxing time or a peaceful lunch.
This is one of my favorite places to go in Tampa FL. There is a good vibe at this park. The breeze coming off the water is amazing. You see families enjoying thereself. You can walk and get a good workout in with a great view. Or you can just sit by the water and relax. There is yoga in the park on Sundays free. It's a great place to go to clear your head.
Nice beautiful place to sit and relax. I went with a bike to go bike riding. After 2 miles or so not many places to ride.
Great place for the kids! Better yet the whole family! Lots to do down there, even relax on the water
Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is a wonderful place here in downtown Tampa. The park is a focal point for excellent views of Tampa's skyline as well as a beautiful location to host many of Tampa's cultural events such as outdoor concerts. It's centrally located along the Hillsborough River in the heart of downtown. Make sure to visit when in the area.
The playground equipment is always burning hot and the chain link fences unappealing. Trash and smokers abounds at Kiley Gardens-what happen to plan for renewal?
Great location and awesome view but plz UPGRADE the play ground for the kids! Its too hot and no shade
