Escambia County Tax Collector reviews
23When you walk in they immediately ask what you are there for. Regardless of your reasons for being there, they want your cell phone number so they can send you a text. You're instructed to wait outside. Rain? Heat? Cold? They absolutely could not care any less. They know you have no choice but to use their services because, well, government. Elderly? Weak immune system? Got children? Too bad. Use the online services.unless you have questions. Then come by the office and we'll show you what it feels like to be a 3rd class citizen.
I called in advance to be prepared with everything I needed to come to the office. The told me the wrong information. I showed up, to do two transactions and the male at the front said that I had to get in line twice. Really? He was very rude. I wish that I didn't have to come here again.
I went to renew my DL. First went to W street and was told no more people will be excepted and this was around 1 pm. Second I went downtown was told wait would be around 30 min. Then got a tex would be up to 1 hr, So I waited outside in the heat and rain. Over a hr later I was notified to report. You would think this would be a good thing right. NO THAT ONLY GOT YOU IN THE BUILDING. I was told to have a seat and my name would be called. I had already invested over 2 hrs by now and was not going to leave. Ok I waited to hear my name called and waited some more I observed people coming and going. I saw the SLOWEST and very unhappy employees, one lady window 5 would handle one guest 15 to 20 minutes and then disappear to the back while other ladies handled other guest.
So I finally ask what was taking so lone and was told then I was not on the list. The guy in charge said o sorry let me see what I can do. It took me over 3.5 hrs to get a DL renewed. Yelling at employees would be no good. Saying I will never do business there again doesn’t mean a thing, they know you have to come back. My only recourse is my VOTE and votes I can influence. O yea I tried to renew on line it was down.
Typical Government
Everything that could be controlled went well.
Yes, this is the DMV and there are long wait times. There were people working at almost every open window, and there were additional employees helping to work with the COVID-compliant line.
The employee who helped my mother and me was Iesha, and she was amazing. She helped us with everything we needed in an expeditious and friendly manner.
As far as DMV experiences go, if you start early, are well prepared and realistic, and if you set aside a few hours to get what you need done, you can expect a good experience.
As the new norm became face masks and social distancing, customer service around the country was hit or miss. I’d like to say that my experience today was a hit. Leslie was the employee that assisted me today with getting a motorcycle tag done for an out of state bike. I’ve been all over the country and today’s DMV experience was one of my best. Wait time was really short considering it’s a DMV, the ability to check in online and wait to be called is amazing. Leslie was a professional through and through and even advised me about other options as far as obtaining a Fl DL and some of the veteran documents that are required for Fl state. Glad to see that even through the pandemic people are still kind and professional in their work spaces.
After being told I was next in line it kicked me out after only 2 minutes and it took me about 3 minutes to walk from my car into the lobby so I lost my place. Was told my spot in line was pushed back by 1 but that turned into 20+ people and over an hour wait even though it was supposed to be my turn. This is not the first time this has happened and the last time I was here I waited nearly 5 hours even though I was told it was an hour - hour and a half wait. I'm still sitting in my car and the "9-28 min wait time" has not gone down despite having been here for an hour.
Very short wait time thanks to the check-in app. Duanisha was very pleasant and was an excellent example of quality customer service.
First experience with ID card / driver's license in Florida. Awesome use of online technology to schedule appointments and get in line electronically with electronic notifications of your status in line. The clerk Tylenne (spelling?) was awesome and really helped me out. Instead of walking out with a Florida ID I walked out with a Florida driver's license with no test written nor driving because of her knowledge, assistance and effort. Again she was awesome.
The check-in kiosk was easy. The wait time and using my cell to check in rather than paper ticket made it easier. I could check on status of my wait time and it was fairly accurate. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful.
Even though I had an issue that I had to handle, the person who helped me was amazing. She was kind, patient and as informative as she could be. After leaving i have had to call back and speak to several other employees who equally awesome. It was quick thanks to the app. I appreciate that. It was super refreshing to have a positive experience with a government office.
Was told it would cost me $20.00 and it cost almost two times as much.may be the right hand does not know what left is doing.
The clerk helping me (Blythe) was extremely friendly and helpful. Wait was short thanks to using the Check-in App from my phone. In and out in less than 30 mins.
I arrived at 1623 and waited in line behind 3-4 other cars and when I arrived at the window it was closed. The teller then says to me I was not in line because she pulled the tapes. I know what time I arrived due to my GPS and my son also called after I arrived and his call was at 1629 when I checked my phone which I had already been sitting in line. The teller was rude when I told her I watched someone come out to the to the middle lane from the office. Upon my arrival the window lane said open while the other two said closed and 2 cars were sitting in the second lane upon arrival and 1 car in the right! I understand you may want to go home and have a long weekend but don’t LIE and do your job first! I only gave 1 Star because I had too!
Went to renew my drivers license- have already been through the verified ID and there were no changes needed- but they told me it was an over 4 hours wait. Just to have my license renewed. Horrible
Terrible service. 2 and a half hour wait and no guarantee they will see you. Only had to show proof of commercial medical card. Went to Milton took less than 10 minutes. What a disgrace for service to our community
Been there many times and yes it is usually very busy. This is the case with most drivers license places. The staff has always been very helpful and pleasant. I give 5 start to the staff and 1 star to the customers. Have a little patience.
Trying to make a formal complaint against woman cursing, using racial slurs, threatening customers asked her to try not to, but she just tells everyone to mind their own business and shut the h*** up and threaten people.
Number 30 window service commented she hates putting cdl medical card into systems. Tough luck. Do your job.
I had a very pleasant experience at this location. All of the staff was very helpful and easy to work with.
This place is very efficient with how they get people thru and all the employees my husband and I encountered were helpful and pleasant while we were there. It is crowded and has high volume but I've never been to any tag office that wasn't always busy.
