Fern Forest Nature Center reviews
31It was our first visit and we liked it. We got there at 3: 40pm and the park close at 5: 00pm. The trail close at 4: 45pm. Even though we couldn't see all the trails, we had a good time.
Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Well maintained walking trails and Nature Center.
Very interesting and alot to see. You have to stop and really look to find things to take pictures of. The ground trails are even better! Loved it!
Most of the preserves in Florida are the same. If you've been to one, you've been to all of them. This one was smaller compared to most of the other ones I've been to.
It was a good place, very adventurous many, surprises would recommend to bring mosquito spray but overall very nice and chill place in the lobby there is a log sheet to share what you saw:)
This park was beautiful. It is very well maintained and clean. The trails are great for a run or a nice walk. And you also get to see some cool critters while you're hiking.
This is a great place to come and take a peaceful walk in nature with your family. They have a good visitor center with info on local wildlife as well as a couple of trails. These trails are not too long so they're perfect for families with young kids. On a clear day you can get really beautiful views and sights. The nature center has water stations and vending machine there are plenty of misters along the trail as well.
Great walk through the FL's nature! This is a big place and half a day can be easily spent here. My little 3 year old son loved it
Great place to visit and go for a walk. Very well kept. Love going here to just walk and think. No phone no technology just me and nature.
If you like hiking, this is a prime spot in the middle of the suburbs. I thought I was going for a "walk" but soon I was climbing through ferns and over swamp. It was amazing and beautiful! I was so happy. Parks are nice but this was NATURE.
Bring bug spray! LOL this was a beautiful park, so much beautiful foliage and lovely facilities and education center, but we had to cut our visit short because of the mosquitoes! Wish we could have stayed longer, this was a beautiful place!
Guided nature tours are offered every Sunday at 1: 00.
We had a great tour with Paul. He took us through the boardwalk loop, pointing out all of the trees and other plants. He even used birdcalls on his phone to attract birds.
Finally, he took to the prarie section, where he showed us some gopher tortoises.
I loved this small and beautiful park. I enjoyed the trails, the nature and the peaceful atmosphere. Fern Forest was the only park where I ve seen "mosquito status" informing how bad is the condition in each trail. Also, free repellent at the visitor center. I recommend a visit if you need to be in touch with nature.
BUG SPRAY! I got bit by mosquitos and ants. I went after it has rained so most of the for trail was flooded, but still nice. The board walk was also nice! Inside the nature center they have some exhibits and right now they only have one indigo snake.
Beautiful trails, friendly and helpful staff, with no shortage of views. When I first came here, told myself that I would love to get married in a place like this. This November, that comes to fruition. I couldn't be more excited!
Beautiful park. Has a boardwalk and trails to go on! Always so peaceful and you might even glimpse a snake or a box turtle in the brush! I always love seeing the red eared turtles swimming and theres a soft shelled turtle in there as well! Great experience every single time. Nature is the best therapy!
This is a magical place. You can see many types of ferns, exposed limestone, a walk through a maple grove and a trip to the prairie- all in one park.
This place is amazing. I 1st went in the Early nineties. They used to have a haunted house I don't know if they still do. I have many memories there. I miss it. A beautiful park with beautiful people. I haven't been in years the thought just popped up in my head. But knowing as much as I know about the park. It was easy for me to give it a good review. We would go and have a picnic there every weekend. Best times of my life!
Had our wedding here! Great staff who are very helpful. Beautiful surroundings for wedding photos. Would highly recommend
Nice enough trail if you’re taking the kids for a stroll. A lot of shaded areas and well maintained trail. We took the kids in a stroller on the cypress creek trail but we were unable to take them through the foot trails because it was muddy.
