Ken did a great job in fixing my car. He fixed my motor and transmission for a good price. He is a very hard worker and got done with my car in 2 weeks and it’s been working great since. Ken always helped me and is flexible with pricing to fit your price range. He was very honest and won’t try to scam you into paying for things that aren’t wrong with the car. If you need a good transmission guy, he’s the one.

My new/old vehicle transmission was not working. 1993 Ford with a AOD transmission with passing gear and overdrive not available. Ken and I took a ride in it so he could diagnose the transmission. He said he knew what it was and could fix it. Ken gave me an estimate and time-frame to fix the vehicle. After a week in the shop, he got it all fixed up for a good price and now my 93 vehicle works great.

Would strongly recommend. Ken did a transmission upgrade on my 1955 Chevy. He modified the mounts and cabling to accommodate a rebuilt 700R4. Works great. Very reasonable prices and fast. He took the time and explained everything. Answered all my questions. This is the second car he has helped me out.

Ken answered my email questions with a telephone call on a Saturday! WOW! He patiently answered my questions and agreed to meet me on Monday (he would have on Sat but I was 1200 miles away). My overdrive was not working and he said he would replace it. We agreed on a price-he took me home (16 miles away) and said it would be ready friday. Friday morning 10am he called and said it's done. He picked me up and we went for a test drive. I am 100% satisfied with his work and the guarantee he gave me. He did everything he said he would do and he did it in a personable, honest manner. I had an issue with my Chevrolet car, and was not from the area so wasn't sure who to use. Needless to say I was in a real bind to find a trustworthy transmission mechanic, and called up Independent Transmission Repair based on the reviews, and spoke with Kenneth. Kenneth got me up and going that day, even though I had no scheduled appointment as I was in from out of town.

6 months later after fake rebuild it still slips now I got to take it to a pro.

This guys a crook. I took my car there to have my transmission resealed. He said six hundred to take out and reseal it. For another four hundred he would rebuild it. I had to give him 200.00 up front for him to get parts. That should have been a warning. Well he did put a front and rear seal in it and a new torque converter unless he just painted the old one. I’m not sure. He never resealed anything else. I told him to reseal the whole transmission. He never rebuilt anything. I was so upset I took two hundred off the price. I helped him put it back in to get it outta there. Got it home and it still leaked. He never even put a new pan gasket on. I changed that myself when I got it home. The old gasket was broken and he tried to patch it with silicone. I ended up taking it back for the leaks. He kept it for a day and didn’t fix it. I resealed the band adjustment nut and the speedometer drive and the modulator Oring. All leaking. He basically charged me a thousand dollars for nothing. STAY AWAY. I was a mechanic for many years so I know what I’m talking about. I should have rebuilt it myself but I’m seventy now and thought it would be to much for me. I ended up fixing the leaks myself anyway.

3 month ago I was visiting my sister in Melbourne. I drove from R. I and stay with her for a long time. Before I drove back my 2009 Chevy camero had trouble with the transmission it had no reverse. My sister recommend Independent trans. They did a super job rebuilding it and very fair price. I got back home safe the car runs great. I recommend independent trans.very highly
